This paper proposes a new dynamic watermarking scheme during the Design-for-Testability (DfT) stage. The extra design constraints due to watermark are imposed on the connection styles between some scan cells. As the scan chain order is maintained, no routing overhead is caused. It thus overcomes the weakness of the watermarking schemes based on scan chain reordering, which usually incur unpredicted long routing or even congestion during physical design. Most of the performances are not compromised. Experimental results show that only negligible overhead on test power is caused while a strong authorship proof is achieved.

In this paper, we propose the method to estimate the motion direction of walking based on brain wave activity. The signals of 11-channel as Electroencephalogram (EEG) of a motor area are measured to estimate the direction of a walking. After measuring the signals of 11-channel related to the motion of the lower limb, the several signal processing algorithm are applied for the signals. Specifically, we have used band pass filter to cut off the signal other than between 5-35[Hz], JADE as a form of Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Multi-class Support Vector Machine (SVM) as a motion classifier. The interval of a motor area about the lower limb at two sides of the brain is very near and a motor area about it is located behind skin of scalp. Therefore, it is difficult for us to measure the EEG and cut off noises. However, we think that our proposal algorithm is effective to develop the real-time Brain Machine Interface (BMI). We performed the experiment that one subject lying down on a bed with closed eyes images the motion of walking, standing and turning the left and right direction among interval of 30 seconds, respectively. As the result of applying our algorithm, the recognition rate within 50-60[%] was achieved. But, it is necessary to increase number of subject, to verify the algorithm and to raise the precision of the rate. The final target is to reveal the estimation method of motion direction of walking by means of several kinds of experiments.

A stochastic approximation with averaging is applied to a consensus algorithm for multi-agent systems and the convergence of the algorithm is analyzed. The consensus is considered with respect to the time average of the states of agents. For the fixed network structure and time-varying structure, the relation between the number of iterations of the algorithm and consensus accuracy is explicitly clarified. Finally a numerical example is shown and a presented theorem is demonstrated.

Providing early mental health services during disaster is a great challenge in the disaster response phase. Lack of access to adequate mental-health professionals in the early stages of large-scale disasters dramatically influences the trend of a successful mental health aid. In this paper, a conceptual framework has been suggested for adopting cellphone-type tele-operated android robots in the early stages of disasters for providing the early mental health services for disaster survivors by developing a locationbased and participatory approach. The techniques of enabling GI-services in a Peer-to-Peer(P2P) environment were studied to overcome the limitations of current centralized services. Therefore, the aim of this research study is to add more flexibility and autonomy to GI web services(WMS, WFS, WPS, etc.) and alleviate to some degree the inherent limitations of these centralized systems. A P2 P system Architecture is presented for the location-based service using minimalistic tele-operated android robots, and some key techniques of implementing this service using Best Peer were studied for developing this framework.

Voice communications over the Internet are growing rapidly thanks to faster Internet and mobile networks. Although multimedia communication techniques such as voice over IP (VoIP) have been using UDP, TCP is gaining gradual popularity since it enables passage through network address translators (NATs) and firewalls. Many researches have been done on real-time communications using TCP, which indicates the possibility of achieving low delay communications over TCP. However, little mention has been made of user-perceived voice quality over TCP. This paper presents a VoIP system using multiple TCP connections. We conducted thorough voice quality evaluations over these connections by changing network and VoIP application parameters. Our evaluations show that voice communications can be achieved in 10% packet loss rate and 100 ms round-trip time environments if the number of TCP connections, the sending unit and the decoding buffer size are optimized. We also provide optimal parameter guidelines for achieving high quality voice communications over multiple TCP connections.

In this paper, we propose a new switching median filter with signal dependent thresholds designed by a genetic algorithm (GA). The switching median filter detects noise-corrupted pixels based on a threshold. Then it restores only the detected pixels. The present switching median filter deals with the random-valued impulse noises, whose distribution is ideally assumed as a uniform distribution. In the present method, the switching median filter, which has two kinds of the thresholds, is introduced. One is switching thresholds to detect the noise, and the other is selecting thresholds to choose the suitable switching threshold. As the suitable selecting threshold, a variance of signals is used. Then all of the switching and selecting thresholds of the proposed switching median filter are automatically optimized by using GA. To optimize the thresholds with GA, distribution distance between the assumed and the detected noises is employed as a fitness function. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by some experiments.

Map labeling is a problem of placing labels at corresponding graphical features on a map. There are two optimization problems: The label number maximization problem and the label size maximization problem. In general, both problems are NP-hard for static maps. Recently, the widespread use of several applications, such as personal mapping systems, has increased the importance of dynamic maps and the label number maximization problem for dynamic cases has been studied. In this paper, we consider the label size maximization problem for points on rotating maps. Our model is as follows. For each label, a point is chosen inside the label or on its boundary as an anchor point. Each label is placed such that the anchor point coincides with the corresponding point on the map. Furthermore, while the map fully rotates from 0 to 2π, the labels are placed horizontally according to the angle of the map. Our problem consists of finding the maximum scale factor for the labels such that the labels do not intersect, and deciding the place of the anchor points. We propose an O(n log n)-time and O(n)-space algorithm for the case where each anchor point is inside the label. Moreover, if the labels are of unit-height (or unit-width) and the anchor points are on the boundary, we also present an O(n log n)-time and O(n)-space algorithm.

Robust optimal power flow problem is to find the optimal operating setting of a power system subject to some constraints based on power and voltage for any uncertain power generation. Since this problem is NP hard due to its nonconvexity, a computationally cheap randomized algorithm is presented. The algorithm is applied for the New England test system and its efficiency is demonstrated through numerical examples.

Recently, there has been great interest in developing advanced sodium‐ion batteries for large‐scale application. Most efforts have concentrated on the search for high‐performance electrode materials only in sodium half‐cells. Research on sodium full cells for practical application has encountered many problems, such as insufficient cycles with rapid capacity decay, low safety, and low operating voltage. Herein, we present a layered P2‐Na 0.66 Ni 0.17 Co 0.17 Ti 0.66 O 2 , as both an anode (ca. 0.69 V versus Na + /Na) and as a high‐voltage cathode (ca. 3.74 V versus Na + /Na). The full cell based on this bipolar electrode exhibits well‐defined voltage plateaus near 3.10 V, which is the highest average voltage in the symmetric cells. It also shows the longest cycle life (75.9 % capacity retention after 1000 cycles) in all sodium full cells, a usable capacity of 92 mAh g −1 , and superior rate capability (65 mAh g −1 at a high rate of 2C).
