Many individuals now trade online utilizing trading software in the digital world. Binomo is one of Indonesia's most popular trading platforms. This is because some influencers made several promises to Binomo customers. Since many customers were deceived, this case became quite popular. This study was executed to see how Indonesians felt about the Binomo application after the case went viral. The solution taken was in the form of sentiment analysis because there had been no previous research on sentiment analysis that discussed the Binomo case. The data was scanned using Netlytic tools, a cloud-based text and social network analyzer capable of identifying any talks on social media sites such as Twitter. The sentiment analysis of Binomo trading tweets by using the Multi-Perspective Question Answering lexicon utilized the KNIME tool. But unfortunately, the accuracy of sentiment analysis results is low. Furthermore, the Support Vector Machine technique is also being conducted. The Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency method is applied to perform feature extraction whilst the chi-square approach is utilized to identify features that are thought to be useful for inclusion in the classification process and to exclude features that are irrelevant to the target class. The obtained accuracy is 86%. The study proposes that words from the algorithm's outputs can be utilized to improve the quality of sentiment analysis using the lexicon. As an outcome of the algorithm, positive and negative terms are added to the lexicon, increasing the accuracy of sentiment analysis using the new vocabulary from 58.984% to 71.146%. © 2023 IEEE.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased reliance on online environments for daily life, work, and entertainment. However, online platforms often lack nonverbal cues such as facial expressions, gestures, and vocal tones, which are essential for effective communication. This limitation affects comprehension, impression formation, and engagement, particularly in contexts such as online live events and gaming, where emotional sharing and group cohesion play a crucial role. To address this issue, we explored how emotions can be represented using three plant-inspired modalities: color (leaf color), movement (overall shaking), and shape (leaf or stem bending). Through participant interactions (N=20), we developed 24 plant based emotion models that combine these modalities to represent 12 distinct emotions. We implemented "AffectiPlant", a plant-inspired ambient display, using LEDs, servo motors, and BioMetal Fibers (BMFs) to dynamically control these modalities. An evaluation of the perceived emotional expressions generated by AffectiPlant (N=20) suggests that the system can convey emotions through plant-like movements and color changes. © 2025, The Authors. In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company's business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal. © 2023 IEEE.

An unsupervised domain adaptation method is proposed based on the step-wise adaptive feature norm method to improve transfer learning accuracy. The feature extraction network consists of channel attention and spatial attention modules, which en-hance feature extraction ability. To reduce the influence of dimension change on channel weight, a convolution layer with the same kernel size is used to replace the fully connected layer in the bottleneck layer used in the common channel attention module. In addition, a smooth loss function is also proposed. The curve of the proposed function is smoother than the L2 function that is the least square error function. The proposed function’s gradient changes more slowly than the L2 function. The proposed function is used as the activate function of classification prediction regression to reduce the risk of gradient explosion. Compared with a selection of existing methods (Resnet50, conditional domain adversarial networks method, deep adaptive network method, joint adaptation network method, domain adaptation neural network method, and stepwise adaptive feature norm method), the proposed transfer learning method has the highest accuracy than other methods on different datasets for all tasks. © 2022 Taiwan Ubiquitous information CO LTD. Visual place recognition using 3D lidar in robotics is a popular research topic. Feature representation descriptors, such as scan-context descriptors, which are 2D descriptors obtained from 3D point clouds, are one of the research directions with great in-depth research value. This paper proposes a new method to improve the robot visual place recognition method based on scan-context descriptors. Our approach focuses on using a combination of loss functions and optimizers to improve the accuracy and robustness of the recognition system. Specifically, we introduce a custom loss function that encourages the network to learn more discriminative features and a Heun optimizer that enables faster and more stable convergence during training. To evaluate the effectiveness of our method, we conduct experiments on the NCLT benchmark dataset. The results show that our method outperforms some existing methods in terms of recognition accuracy and computational efficiency. Our proposed method provides a promising solution for improving robot place recognition, which has significant implications for a wide range of robotic applications, including autonomous navigation, mapping, and localization. © 2024, CC BY.

In this study, we developed an optical local oscillator signal generation system that tracks the frequency of the electric field to be observed. This system was applied to our highly sensitive electric field imaging system using the electro-optic (EO) effect. It enables electric field imaging by tracking a time-varying frequency wave source, such as frequency modulation (FM). Using this configuration, we successfully imaged at the edge of a PCB antenna with a signal modulated at 2.45 GHz, FM deviation of 100 kHz, and sweep frequency of 100 kHz. © 2024 IEEE.

The study of haptic perception is significant and general for robot-assisted endovascular surgery. During actual surgical procedure, feedback information has advantages in monitoring the insertion process, providing direct instruction for surgeons, and improving operation safety. In this work, a new implementation of haptic perception named vibration feedback is concepted and proposed based on micro vibration motor. Related working principles and kinetic analysis of vibration feedback are descripted based on three kinds of vibration patterns. Two kinds of experiments are conducted to determine suitable parameters of duty cycle for vibration feedback and test the using performance in human model. Experimental results indicate that the proposed vibration feedback is feasible and helpful to offer a haptic perception. Moreover, benefiting from the micro size of vibration motor, this study also has potential value for some research fields like small wearable device, micro haptic feedback, multi-level feedback perception for robotic systems. © 2023 IEEE.

For the telerehabilitation robotic system, the stable and transparent remote therapist-patient interaction under the internet communication latency remains an open challenge. In this paper, we proposed a model-mediated telerehabilitation system to avoid the delayed force feedback on the therapist side. Moreover, a variable stiffness robot is employed in the proposed telerehabilitation system to improve the patient-robot interaction on the slave side. On the slave side, a performance-based variable stiffness interactive assistance control law was utilized and the task stiffness estimation method is designed for master-side interaction model updating. On the master side, the master subsystem was implemented by a haptic device with visual and force feedback. The overall telerehabilitation was realized by the TCP/IP internet communication method. From the premilitary experimental results, the therapist subject could conduct the therapy with the aid of visual and force feedback, and the patient subject could complete the training task with their active efforts. © 2023 IEEE.

Enhancing disaster awareness and preparedness is crucial for building resilient societies. This study comprehensively assessed the levels of disaster awareness and preparedness among children and adults in Thailand through qualitative and quantitative surveys. Children strongly emphasized the importance of disaster education in school curricula, leveraging multimedia channels for risk communication, and implementing early warning systems. In contrast, adults exhibited a greater understanding of the significance of business continuity and disaster management technologies. These findings revealed disparities in disaster awareness across age groups. The insights from this study suggest age-specific engineering system approaches to information dissemination, contributing to the development of inclusive disaster preparedness strategies that incorporate diverse stakeholder perspectives. Children highlighted the need for practical training on survival skills, accessible disaster communication through SMS alerts, and monitoring systems for timely information dissemination. Adults, on the other hand, placed greater importance on business continuity planning and recognized the usefulness of technologies like satellite imagery for disaster management. By identifying these gaps and areas for improvement, this research provides valuable guidance for tailoring interventions, fostering a culture of preparedness, and harnessing technological solutions that resonate with the needs and concerns of different age cohorts within Thai society. © 2024 IEEE.

Various alaryngeal voicing methods have been devised and put to practical use for people who lost the ability to speak normally due to the removal of the larynx. The objective of this study is to improve the quality of alaryngeal speech so that people who have lost their voices can communicate more freely. For the purpose, it is necessary to create a system that can control nonverbal information such as voice quality with the same degree of subtlety as normal speech. As a first step, we developed a prototype interface that allows the user to control the pitch of vocalizations with the rotation of the wrist. We believe that this interface will allow the user to control the pitch of vocalizations as desired, without requiring special training. In fact, the author’s own trial use of the interface showed that after 30 minutes of practice, the accuracy of pitch control was improved, and to some extent, the speaker was able to speak at the desired pitch. The author also tried singing with the system. The results suggested the possibility of improvement in singing as well as normal singing. Therefore, the proposed interface was shown to be suitable for pitch control.
