A digging robot named "DigBot" has been developed by our laboratory for monitoring the underground environment and exploring the lunar surface. The purpose of this research is to develop the robot which can dig soil and sand automatically. When we build the building or structure, ground research is indispensable to know that if the ground can hold the building. In addition, conceivable application of DigBot is investigation of geological condition and ground pollution after disaster. Standard penetration test and Swedish weight sounding test are known as the general way of ground research and are frequently used. But these methods have faults. For example, high costs or large scale. In this proceeding, first, concept of DigBot is shown. As a basic research of developing DigBot, Contra-rotating drill is developed and made for trial purpose. And then digging experiment is carried out for verifying effectiveness through the Contra-rotating drill. It was proved that DigBot possess incomparably more power than ever before. This research suggest the way of solving faults by using the robot which can dig underground and research underground information.

In this paper, the design of the nonlinear fuzzy servo system will be discussed. The idea behind of this control method is to divide the operating region of nonlinear servo system into small areas, and treated as a collection of local linear servo systems. The control rule of each local linear servo systems has been calculated using Davison-Smith Method. Fuzzy method has been applied to each local linear servo system and combines it as new control rule. The Lyapunov stability theory is used to develop the bounded condition for the proposed system. The simulation of the inverted pendulum system has been done to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The result shows that the proposed method can stabilize the system.

Communications network damage resulting from a large disaster causes difficulties in the ability to rapidly understand the current situation and thus make appropriate decisions toward mitigating problems. This research focuses on the rapid construction of a network after a disaster occurs. This study suggests ZigBee and GIS technologies to resolve these problems and provide an effective communications system. This paper provides ground design of the emergency management system with ZigBee network and GIS technologies. In this paper, it was demonstrated the effectiveness of establishing such a communications system for supporting efforts to relieve disaster-damaged areas.

This paper describes a proposal of link composition for a parallel mechanism with pin joints. The maximum angle of inclination by general parallel mechanism with ball joints is about 55 degrees because of the limitations in the angles of those joints. Therefore, a novel parallel mechanism that will replace ball joints by the pin joints with wide movable angle is proposed. Moreover, three kinds of link compositions: an outside type, an inside type and a combination type are proposed. The transmission index is investigated on these three types, and it has been understood that the combination type is able to move in the widest area. It was confirmed that the inclination angle of the end effector can go up to 90 degrees by simulations and experiments that proved effectiveness.

Propositional Satisfiability (SAT) is fundamental in solving many application problems in Artificial Intelligence and Computer science. Remarkable improvements in the efficiency of SAT solvers have been made over the last decade. Such improvements encourage researchers to solve constraint satisfaction problems by encoding them into SAT (i.e. "SAT encoding"). Balanced Incomplete Block Design (BIBD) is one of the most typical block designs. BIBDs have been applied in several fields such as design experiments, coding theory, and cryptography. In this paper, we consider the problem of generating BIBDs by SAT encoding. We present a new SAT encoding that is an enhancement of order encoding with the idea of binary tree. It is designed to reduce the number of clauses required for cardinality constraints, compared with order encoding. In our experiments, our encoding was able to give a greater number of solutions than order encoding and state-of-the-art constraint solvers Mistral and choco.

The top four sickness scores are general discomfort, eyestrain, difficulty concentrating, and fatigue. These experimental results suggest future questionnaire for immersive virtual environment to concentrate on problems about eyes and seeing. Furthermore, the least four simulator sickness are burping, increase salivation, sweating, and stomach awareness. These sickness symptoms might be reduced to shorten future simulator sickness questionnaire.

It is a technology that produces the hydrogen gases by using only the microorganism and sunlight from the wastewater to be at a loss because of processing. And, the produced hydrogen uses the fuel cell and is used to generate electricity. Because this technology doesn't use the organic matter that becomes food, and use the organic matter included in waste, clean power generation is possible. We researched the improvement of the hydrogen gas production efficiency. The purple non-sulfur photosynthesis bacillus was purely cultured, the substrate dependency was clarified, and the best substrate dosage was decided. Moreover, it was shown that the light wave length conversion net was effective for the hydrogen gas production efficiency improvement. On the other hand, a too strong light intensity showed becoming the growth obstruction of phototropic bacteria. When the light intensity for the photosynthesis is insufficient, the light wave length conversion net can support this. On the other hand, there was an effect of easing the trouble by light when the light intensity was excessive. We were able to offer the design parameter to produce the hydrogen gases with the wastewater efficiently.

The importance of reconfiguration service in Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) has driven many researchers to develop various ways to reduce incurred costs in software maintenance on sensor ***,the lack of utilization of software engineering methodologies in previous studies can cause numerous efforts to configure the WSN for each site and modification of the system to introduce additional *** this paper,we present a high level of abstraction model to support a reconfiguration mechanism for environmental sensing applications that enable developers to design their applications to be more flexible and reusable without relying on a specific *** evaluation on a case study indicated that the use of the proposed model was capable of increasing productivity in development time about 6-8 times as fast as that of the handwriting *** of quality of the generated codes in a simulated environment showed the reconfiguration process for some properties of tasks could be performed without decreasing the network performance significantly.
