Large language models have shown significant capabilities across various domains, including symbolic music generation. However, leveraging these pre-trained models for controllable music arrangement tasks, each requiring different forms of musical information as control, remains a novel challenge. In this paper, we propose a unified sequence-to-sequence framework that enables the fine-tuning of a symbolic music language model for multiple multi-track arrangement tasks, including band arrangement, piano reduction, drum arrangement, and voice separation. Our experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach consistently achieves higher musical quality compared to task-specific baselines across all four tasks. Furthermore, through additional experiments on probing analysis, we show the pre-training phase equips the model with essential knowledge to understand musical conditions, which is hard to acquired solely through task-specific fine-tuning.1 Copyright © 2024, The Authors. In the dynamic domain of supply chain management, integrating Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology with blockchain technology represents a significant leap forward. This integration has created a blockchain-assisted RFID-enabled Supply Chain Management System (SCMS). With its ability to utilize electromagnetic fields to identify and track tags attached to objects, RFID technology has revolutionized product management and tracking within supply chains. (SCMS) transmits tracking and product management information through public communication channels. However, (SCMS)'s communication on these channels is vulnerable to various security attacks and privacy challenges. Numerous authentication protocols have recently been proposed to tackle these security and privacy challenges. Unfortunately, most protocols are susceptible to different security attacks, such as tag or reader impersonation, denial of service, physical cloning, desynchronization attacks, etc. Therefore, we have proposed an authentication protocol for an RFID-enabled (SCMS) that also leverages blockchain technology. The integration of blockchain technology ensures data integrity, immutability and transparency across each department involved in (SCMS). In the proposed protocol, we also employ a Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) to secure (SCMS) against physical cloning attacks. We validate the security of the proposed protocol through both informal and formal analysis. The informal analysis confirms that our protocol significantly enhances security and efficiency. Moreover, a performance analysis of the proposed protocol against various competing existing protocols shows its superior performance. Notably, the proposed protocol substantially reduces computational and communication costs by 24.38% and 8.03%, respectively, which underscores its enhanced performance and resource efficiency. © 2013 IEEE.

In recent studies of object detection and tracking, neural networks have been widely used, and their accuracy has improved. However, its computational complexity is very high and requires the use of high-end GPUs. In order to achieve realtime inference on edge devices, it is necessary to reduce the computational complexity of the network by scaling it down, but this leads to a loss of accuracy. To avoid this loss of accuracy, a method has been proposed in which object detection is performed using a neural network at regular intervals, and in the frames in between, the detected object positions are interpolated using motion prediction. In this research, we propose a method to improve the accuracy of interpolation even when the camera is moving by using an affine transformation used for image stabilization. We also show its realtime computation method on Jetson TX2, one of the lowest power embedded GPUs. The proposed method enables realtime processing of object detection using Yolov5s and tracking of the detected objects at the edge.

This paper presents the first ChatGPT4PCG Competition at the 2023 IEEE Conference on Games. The objective of this competition is for participants to create effective prompts for ChatGPT–enabling it to generate science Birds levels with high stability and character-like qualities–fully using their creativity as well as prompt engineering skills. ChatGPT is a conversational agent developed by OpenAI. science Birds is selected as the competition platform because designing an Angry Birds-like level is not a trivial task due to the in-game gravity; the quality of the levels is determined by their stability. To lower the entry barrier to the competition, we limit the task to the generation of capitalized English alphabetical characters. We also allow only a single prompt to be used for generating all the characters. Here, the quality of the generated levels is determined by their stability and similarity to the given characters. A sample prompt is provided to participants for their reference. An experiment is conducted to determine the effectiveness of several modified versions of this sample prompt on level stability and similarity by testing them on several characters. To the best of our knowledge, we believe that ChatGPT4PCG is the first competition of its kind and hope to inspire enthusiasm for prompt engineering in procedural content generation.

This study proposes a novel approach to obtain personalized estimates of Lower Urinary Tract Function leveraging on the simulated and experimentally acquired bladder pressure. Our findings reveal the model's adaptability across intraindividual cycles and consistency within specific cohorts, shedding light on the importance of variability in the micturition process. The study emphasizes the significance of intraindividual and interindividual variability, paving the way for improved diagnostics and therapeutic strategies in the field of lower urinary function. © 2024 IEEE.

Approximate computing has become an emerging technique to reduce power consumption. In numerous applications, multiplication is a crucial operation, designing it for approximation is effective in optimizing system performance. In this paper, we propose low-power FPGA-based multipliers by employing the novel compressor designs. Given that the compressor is the primary unit in the multiplier, we introduce novel exact and approximate compressors with low-complexity circuits to parallelly accumulate the elements. To flexibly configure the proposed compressors, a compressor-based once-through structure is proposed to 8×8 multipliers. Two variants of the approximate multipliers are provided with different accuracy-hardware trade-offs. Compared with the exact multiplier, the proposed approximate multiplier reduces power by 57.90%, area by 33.80%, and delay by 24.78%. With a similar accuracy loss, the proposed designs save more hardware resources than others. In addition, the effectiveness of approximate multipliers is assessed in image sharpening.

E-learning environments are increasingly harnessing large language models (LLMs) like GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 for tailored educational support. This study introduces an approach that integrates dynamic knowledge graphs with LLMs to offer nuanced student assistance. By evaluating past and ongoing student interactions, the system identifies and appends the most salient learning context to prompts directed at the LLM. Central to this method is the knowledge graph's role in assessing a student's comprehension of topic prerequisites. Depending on the categorized understanding (good, average, or poor), the LLM adjusts its guidance, offering advanced assistance, foundational reviews, or in-depth prerequisite explanations, respectively. Preliminary findings suggest students could benefit from this tiered support, achieving enhanced comprehension and improved task outcomes. However, several issues related to potential errors arising from LLMs were identified, which can potentially mislead students. This highlights the need for human intervention to mitigate these risks. This research aims to advance AI-driven personalized learning while acknowledging the limitations and potential pitfalls, thus guiding future research in technology and data-driven education. © 2024, CC BY.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly permeating all aspects of human life, involving a network of devices that share sensitive data. A notable application is the e-healthcare systems, which employ connected sensors, medical servers, and wearable devices. However, the public nature of communication in e-healthcare systems poses challenges such as security, privacy, and authentication of participating entities. Recently, many authentication protocols have been introduced to address these challenges. However, most of these protocols remain vulnerable to various security attacks, including device or medical server impersonation, denial of service, physical or cloning, and de-synchronization attacks. Therefore, we introduce an authenticated key-management protocol utilizing hash functions and Cipher-Block Chaining-Advanced Encryption Standard encryption (CBC-AES) encryption. The proposed protocol also employs the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF), which makes it more robust and efficient in resisting physical or cloning attacks. Additionally, the proposed scheme resists various security threats, including impersonation, session key leakage, ephemeral secret leakage, and de-synchronization attacks. We analyze the scheme’s security and reliability through formal and informal analysis. The informal analysis demonstrates that the scheme encompasses crucial security features, while the formal analysis substantiates. Moreover, performance analysis of the proposed protocol with various competing results indicates that our protocol achieves an average reduction in communication and computation overheads by 36.03.% and 41.79%, respectively. © 2014 IEEE.

Approximate multiplier saves energy and improves hardware performance for error-tolerant computation-intensive applications. This work proposes hardware-efficient FPGA-based approximate multipliers with look-up table (LUT) sharing and carry switching. Sharing two LUTs with the same inputs enables to fully utilize the available LUT resources. To mitigate the accuracy loss incurred from this approach, the truncated carry is partially reserved by switching it to the adjacent calculation. In addition, we create a library of 8×8 approximate multipliers to provide various multiplication choices. The proposed design can provide enhancements of up to 38.75% in power, 17.29% in latency, and 28.17% in area compared to the Xilinx exact multiplier. Our proposed designs are open-source at https://***/YnuGuoLab/DATE_FPGA_Approx_Mul and assist in further reproducing and development.
