Multimodal deepfakes involving audiovisual manipulations are a growing threat because they are difficult to detect with the naked eye or using unimodal deep learning-based forgery detection methods. Audiovisual forensic models, while more capable than unimodal models, require large training datasets and are computationally expensive for training and inference. Furthermore, these models lack interpretability and often do not generalize well to unseen manipulations. In this study, we examine the detection capabilities of a large language model (LLM) (i.e., ChatGPT) to identify and account for any possible visual and auditory artifacts and manipulations in audiovisual deepfake content. Extensive experiments are conducted on videos from a benchmark multimodal deepfake dataset to evaluate the detection performance of ChatGPT and compare it with the detection capabilities of state-of-the-art multimodal forensic models and humans. Experimental results demonstrate the importance of domain knowledge and prompt engineering for video forgery detection tasks using LLMs. Unlike approaches based on end-to-end learning, ChatGPT can account for spatial and spatiotemporal artifacts and inconsistencies that may exist within or across modalities. The recent proliferation of hyper-realistic deepfake videos has drawn attention to the threat of audio and visual forgeries. Most previous studies on detecting artificial intelligence-generated fake videos only utilize visual modality or audio modality. While some methods exploit audio and visual modalities to detect forged videos, they have not been comprehensively evaluated on multimodal datasets of deepfake videos involving acoustic and visual manipulations, and are mostly based on convolutional neural networks with low detection accuracy. Considering that human cognition instinctively integrates multisensory information including audio and visual cues to perceive and interpret content and the success of transformer in various fields, this study introduces the audio-visual transformer-based ensemble network (AVTENet). This innovative framework tackles the complexities of deepfake technology by integrating both acoustic and visual manipulations to enhance the accuracy of video forgery detection. Specifically, the proposed model integrates several purely transformer-based variants that capture video, audio, and audio-visual salient cues to reach a consensus in prediction. For evaluation, we use the recently released benchmark multimodal audio-video FakeAVCeleb dataset. For a detailed analysis, we evaluate AVTENet, its variants, and several existing methods on multiple test sets of the FakeAVCeleb dataset. Experimental results show that the proposed model outperforms all existing methods and achieves state-of-the-art performance on Testset-I and Testset-II of the FakeAVCeleb dataset. We also compare AVTENet against humans in detecting video forgery. The results show that AVTENet significantly outperforms humans. © 2016 IEEE.

Swarm learning (SL) exploits the blockchain to realize a federated and decentralized learning, which is very suitable for internet of things (IoT). Different from FL using central server to update global parameter, SL using edge node (header) to do that. However, poisoning attack is also an unresolved problem to SL. Because if header is malicious, it can pollute global parameter more easily than edge nodes. Moreover, there are following important limitations in existing defense schemes for FL, which cannot be used in SL directly. First, existing defense schemes focus on building a whitelist, which obstructs the decentralization because it can just provide decentralization in honest nodes instead of all of nodes. Second, existing schemes just consider poisoning attacks from edge nodes, they cannot defend attacks from header. Third, most existing schemes will let server execute the defense algorithm, but in SL, malicious header can return wrong defense results to deceive managers. To address above challenges, in this paper, we propose a protection system that leverages the concept of zero-trust architecture for SL, which achieves continuous risk calculation, analysis of learning behavior and abnormal parameter detection based on Manhattan distance and accuracy difference of parameters. We also evaluate the performance in the presence of random and customized malicious edge nodes. Experimental results demonstrate that our scheme can achieve higher accuracy than the other existing schemes.

Currently the computing world is getting complex, innovating and maturing with modern technologies. Virtualization is one of the old concepts and currently containerization has arrived as an alternative and innovative technology. Docker is the most famous and trending container management technology. Different other container management technologies and virtualization technologies are respective other corresponding technologies and mechanisms for Docker containerization. This research study aims to identify how Docker incorporation is different from other computer system infrastructure technologies in the perspective of architecture, features and qualities. By considering forty-five existing literatures, this research study was conducted. To deliver a structured review process, a thorough review protocol was conducted. By considering four main research questions, the research study was lined up. Ultimately, Docker architecture and Docker components, Docker features, Docker integration with other computing domains and Docker other computing infrastructures were studied. After synthesizing all the selected research studies, the cream was obtained with plenty of knowledge contribution to the field of computer application deployment and infrastructure. © 2021 IEEE.

The next generation of wearable biosensors comes with the latest advancements in biosensor technology. Soft and stretchable electrode materials like hydrogels with the similar functionalities of human tissue including stretchability, self-healability, and responsiveness to different stimuli have emerged as the most versatile materials in wearable electronics. The incorporation of conductive nanofillers is found to enhance the sensitivity of the electrochemical biosensors significantly. Microfluidic technology has reduced the volume of samples and reagents required for the analysis, allowing continuous biomedical monitoring from a drop of biofluid. In this paper, the most advanced progress in electrochemical wearable platforms that can noninvasively and continuously monitor the biochemical markers in body fluids for the diagnosis and health management is reviewed. Innovation in microelectronics, modification, fabrication technologies, and detection methods are the main focus of the discussion. In particular, hydrogel-based sensors and microfluidic systems as the latest technology trends in wearable detection are discussed in detail. Integration of miniaturized electrochemical wearable biosensors with wireless technology as a great promise for real-time healthcare monitoring and point-of-care (POC) diagnostics is also summarized. Finally, we outline the most advanced wearable biosensors with optimized material and design as well as key challenges that need to be addressed to improve sensing performance (accuracy, sensitivity, selectivity, stability), portability (miniaturized size and light weight), and flexibility of the wearable biosensors. © 2024 The Authors

Local Periodicity-Based Beat Tracking for Expressive Classical Piano Music

To model the periodicity of beats, state-of-the-art beat tracking systems use "post-processing trackers" (PPTs) that rely on several empirically determined global assumptions for tempo transition, which work well for music with a steady tempo. For expressive classical music, however, these assumptions can be too rigid. With two large datasets of Western classical piano music, namely the Aligned Scores and Performances (ASAP) dataset and a dataset of Chopin's Mazurkas (Maz-5), we report on experiments showing the failure of existing PPTs to cope with local tempo changes, thus calling for new methods. In this paper, we propose a new local periodicity-based PPT, called predominant local pulse-based dynamic programming (PLPDP) tracking, that allows for more flexible tempo transitions. Specifically, the new PPT incorporates a method called "predominant local pulses" (PLP) in combination with a dynamic programming (DP) component to jointly consider the locally detected periodicity and beat activation strength at each time instant. Accordingly, PLPDP accounts for the local periodicity, rather than relying on a global tempo assumption. Compared to existing PPTs, PLPDP particularly enhances the recall values at the cost of a lower precision, resulting in an overall improvement of F1-score for beat tracking in ASAP (from 0.473 to 0.493) and Maz-5 (from 0.595 to 0.838). © 2023, CC BY.

With the development of E-commerce, an Automated Question-Answering system takes a crucial part in customer service. Question classification, which assigns labels to questions according to the answer types, is one of the tasks in question answering. Previous methods usually used handcraft features like named entity recognition, but it needs the predefined dictionary or tools. The machine learning approaches are recently applied to this task and achieve high accuracy. In this paper, we proposed HAEE, a Hierarchical intra-Attention Enhancement Encoder which composed of bidirectional GRUs and intra-attentions. In addition, we adopt the character input to address the issue of the OOV (Out-Of-Vocabulary) problem and create multiple intra-attentions to simulate the certain relationships between characters (Chinese) or words (English) to enhance the influence of tokens on the sentence. We evaluate the HAEE model in an actual corporate setting and several datasets. As shown in the experimental results, our HAEE model outperforms the existing state-of-the-art models on question classification tasks, especially for the Chinese corpus.

The use of laboratory automation by all researchers may substantially accelerate scientific activities by humans, including those in the life sciences. However, computer programs to operate robots should be written to implement laboratory automation, which requires technical knowledge and skills that may not be part of a researcher's training or expertise. In the last few years, there has been remarkable development in large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4, which can generate computer codes based on natural language instructions. In this study, we used LLMs, including GPT-4, to generate scripts for robot operations in biological experiments based on ambiguous instructions. GPT-4 successfully generates scripts for OT-2, an automated liquid-handling robot, from simple instructions in natural language without specifying the robotic actions. Conventionally, translating the nuances of biological experiments into low-level robot actions requires researchers to understand both biology and robotics, imagine robot actions, and write robotic scripts. Our results showed that GPT-4 can connect the context of biological experiments with robot operation through simple prompts with expert-level contextual understanding and inherent knowledge. Replacing robot script programming, which is a tedious task for biological researchers, with natural-language LLM instructions that do not consider robot behavior significantly increases the number of researchers who can benefit from automating biological experiments. This study lays a foundation phase for verifying the effectiveness of the proposed training program designed to develop digital innovation skills (DISs) among digital skills teachers (DSTs) in Bisha Province of southern Saudi *** proposed training program is used to determine and develop key factors that affect and influence DISs for a sample set randomly chosen from the DST population of Bisha. The sample dataset comprises 400 respondents randomly selected by surveying the community of teachers in the area. The method perfectly verifies the DIS features that affect or support the output of teachers in the region and analyzes the classification learning impacts of those features using a modeling technique. Several powerful machine learning classification prediction algorithms are employed to address and identify innovation gaps and encourage outcomes from teachers. Decision tree, extra tree, and extreme gradient boosting (XGB) classifiers are the most commonly used algorithms. Advanced classifier performance measures are used to evaluate the performance of the final models. The metrics vary and include top scalar and three visual classification metrics including area under the curve, confusion matrix, and sharply additive explanations. The XGB classifier provides the best performance-based calculation output. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Preference Elicitation is now considered a crucial stage in recommender system. That is the stage where we collect and query preferences of the users as part of interactive decision support system. Preference elicitation can be performed using many ways, such as asking the user explicitly to give ratings or feedbacks for some products, or implicitly observing their behaviour. Once this preference has been collected by the system, it can then be used to generate item recommendation. Using explicit feedback itself, such as rating only, has several drawbacks. Using ratings is very subjective. Two users with similar taste might give different rating to the same item. A user also may not be consistent in giving number to express their liking. In other case, a user may like an item more than the other items, but feels difficult to give lower rating on the other item, because it means that the particular item is just as bad as the one he/she does not like. By showing two different items as a pair, it will be easier for the users to pick which one is the best. In this paper, we show the result of our experiment in predicting user pairwise preferences by using their movie ratings data. We evaluated five different machine learning algorithms to predict the data in pairwise preference format. The result shows that K-Nearest Neighbour and Random Forest outperformed the other algorithms. © 2020 IEEE.
