The Investigation of Data Voting Algorithm for Train Air-Braking system Based on Multi-Classification SVM and ANFIS

The pressure data of the train air braking system is of great significance to accurately evaluate its operation state. In order to overcome the influence of sensor fault on the pressure data of train air braking system, it is necessary to design a set of sensor fault-tolerant voting mechanism to ensure that in the case of a pressure sensor fault, the system can accurately identify and locate the position of the faulty sensor, and estimate the fault data according to other normal data. A fault-tolerant mechanism based on multi-classification support vector machine(SVM) and adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system(ANFIS) is introduced. Multi-classification SVM is used to identify and locate the system fault state, and ANFIS is used to estimate the real data of the fault sensor. After estimation, the system will compare the real data of the fault sensor with the ANFIS estimated data. If it is similar,the system will recognize that there is a false alarm and record it. Then the paper tests the whole mechanism based on the real data. The test shows that the system can identify the fault samples and reduce the occurrence of false alarms.

Assessing insulation performance is vital for sustainable energy systems, which aim to minimize visual impact while ensuring reliability and resilience against weather-related disruptions. With increasing reliance on renewable energy sources, the importance of insulation performance becomes even more pronounced. Regular evaluations of insulation performance are critical for maintaining the safety, reliability, and resilience of electricity networks. By promptly identifying risks such as insulation degradation, utilities can improve maintenance practices, prioritize repairs, and enhance the integration of renewables, thereby boosting overall infrastructure performance. This paper introduces a straightforward and precise technique for determining the equivalent circuit parameters of insulation systems in high-voltage equipment. The proposed method facilitates the accurate determination of the dielectric loss factor from the equivalent circuit. To validate this approach, test cases were utilized to demonstrate its effectiveness. The results obtained through this method were then compared with those obtained using commercial software. The comparison reveals that the proposed approach results in a lower number of depolarization current branches compared to the commercial software. Also, it provides almost the same relative root mean square error and the lower root mean square relative error of the depolarization current. These findings underscore the appeal and effectiveness of the proposed method for determining the equivalent circuit of the dielectric model. © 2024 IEEE.

Elucidation of the formation process and shape determining factors of GP zones and nanoclusters in Al-Cu and Al-Mg-Si alloys

While plate-like Guinier-Preston (GP) zones are formed during aging process in Al-Cu alloys, spherical nanocluster formation occurs in the early stage of aging in Al-Mg-Si alloys. Unlike well-known GP (I) zone in Al-Cu, there is no specific configurations within the nanocluster. However, the solute concentration and local configuration should play decisive role in subsequent formation of precipitates. In the present study, the first-principles calculations were performed to investigate the factors determining the stable shape during the formation process of GP zones and clusters in Al-Cu and Al-Mg-Si alloys. As a result of formation energy calculation of three-body bonds, the Cu-Cu-Cu triplet with the bond angle of 90° was the most stable. Monte Carlo simulations with newly developed machine-learning potential were then performed, and consequently the segregation of Cu atoms with the bond angle of 90° was observed more frequently. In contrast, three-body triplet with the bond angle of 60°was most stable without any specific directional anisotropy in Al-Mg-Si alloy, resulting in the formation of spherical nanoclusters. These results suggest that the intrinsic feature of the stability of local bonding dominates the shape of GP zones and nanoclusters, in which planar- or spherical-like cluster is formed. © 2024 The Japan Institute of Light Metals.

The industrial world is shifting from mass production to meeting individual needs, requiring guidelines to incorporate emotions and preferences. Traditional questionnaires fall short in capturing detailed real-time emotion changes. Therefore, we propose a novel approach using Electroencephalography(EEG), which reflects central nervous system activity, and heart rate variability(HRV), which reflects autonomic nervous system activity, to estimate emotions in real-time by analyzing arousal and valence. Based on the 2D Arousal-Valence model, we plot EEG and HRV data onto this model to visualize emotion changes caused by external stimuli. Using this proposed method, we conducted joint research with the home and personal care sector to evaluate emotional responses to aroma products, and with the automotive sector to assess drivers' emotional states. These studies demonstrate the value of academic research in guiding the industrial sector, particularly through emotion estimation based on EEG and HRV. Our findings suggest that these technologies offer valuable insights into consumer emotions, which can help improve product design and user experience. Ongoing collaboration between academia and the industrial sector is crucial for overcoming challenges in interpreting physiological signals and effectively integrating these methods into practice. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, an incentive mechanism is developed to maximize the weighted social welfare for pseudo-gradient-based noncooperative dynamical systems. In the proposed approach, the system manager manipulates agents' decision making by collecting taxes and giving subsidies to the agents under a sustainable budget constraint using the partial knowledge related to the payoff structure from the agents except a secret agent. To avoid direct acquisition of the payoff information of all the agents, our idea is to shift the stationary points of those partial agents and hence indirectly move the Nash equilibrium of the entire system. Sufficient conditions are derived under which the Nash equilibrium is shifted towards the target state achieving Pareto efficiency under the incentive mechanism without knowing any payoff information of the secret agent. Some convergent conditions to ensure agents' state converge to the target state under a sustainable budget are provided for the given initial state. We present a numerical example to illustrate the efficacy of our results. © 2024 IEEE.

Wastewater treatment is an important source of greenhouse gases(GHGs).Yet large uncertainties remain in the quantification of GHG emissions from municipal wastewater treatment plants(MWWTPs)in China.A high-resolution and technology-specific emission inventory is still lacking to support mitigation strategies of *** we develop a plant-level and technology-based MWWTP emission inventory for China covering 8703 plants and 19 treatment technology categories by compiling and harmonizing the most up-to-date facility-level ***'s methane(CH_(4))and nitrous oxide(N_(2)O)emissions from MWWTPs in 2020 are estimated to be 150.6 Gg and 22.0 Gg,respectively,with the uncertainty range of-30%to 37%and-30%to 26%at 95%confidence *** find an emission inequality across cities,with the richest cities emitting two times more CH_(4)and N_(2)O per capita from municipal wastewater treatment than the poorest *** emitted CH_(4)and N_(2)O are dominated by Anaerobic/Anoxic/Oxic-,Sequencing Batch Reactor-,Oxidation Ditch-,and Anoxic/Oxic-based MWWTPs of less than 20 years *** the relatively young age structure of China's MWWTPs,the committed emissions highlight the importance of reducing on-site GHG emissions by optimization of operating conditions and innovation *** emission differences among our estimates,previous studies,and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change guidelines are largely attributed to the uncertainties in emission factors,implying the urgent need for more plant-integrated measurements to improve the accuracy of emission accounting.

'Heating time must be long enough to reach the thermal static equilibrium.' This is a basic rule for transient thermal measurement of semiconductor packages. However, there are some situations when it is difficult to follow the rules. Our previous research found the valid data shown in the structure function will be limited to the area closer to the junction when unsaturated heating time is used. In addition, the effect on dissipated power variation was tested for not only ideal rectangular heating pulses but also simplified several different heating pulses. This paper theoretically validates the power variation by using the electrical and thermal models of a silicon carbide (SiC) SBD and MOSFET. © 2025 Japan Institute of Electronics Packaging.
