Xie:graduated from Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm Sweden and received an M.Sc. in 1984. He received a Licentiate and a Ph.D. from Linkoping University Sweden in 1986 and 1987 respectively. After four years doing active research and teaching at that university he became one of the first recipients of the LKY fellowship in 1991 tenable at the National University of Singapore. Currently he is working as a senior lecturer. Dr. Xie has published more than 50 papers internationally and a bookSoftware Reliability Modellingby World Scientific Publishers. A member of IEEE ASA and SRE Dr. Xie has also been a committee member of a few international conferences. W. Xie:graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1989 with a Bachelor's degree and an M.Sc. degree in 1992. After working at Digital Equipment Corporation Shenzhen China for about a year she was awarded a scholarship to pursue postgraduate degree at National University of Singapore. She has been doing research on statistical process control techniques since then.

He received the degree in electronic engineering from the University of Ancona in 1981. Since 1983 after military service in the Air Force Engineer Corps he has been a Researcher with the Department of Electronics and Automatics at the University of Ancona. His research is mainly devoted to microstrip antennas and integrated optics. Currently he is also involved in EMC problems and in the analysis of the interaction between electromagnetic fields and biological bodies. Roberto De Leo was born in Ban Italy in 1942. He graduated from the Politecnico di Torino in 1965. From 1966 to 1980 he was at the University of Bari working on microwave devices. Since 1980 he has been a full Professor of E\ectromagnetics at the University of Ancona. His areas of interest are medical applications of electromagnetic waves and electromagnetic compatibility. Valter Mariani Priiani was born in Rome Italy in 1961. Since 1981 he has been a laboratory researcher at the University of Ancona. He received the degree in electronic engineering at the University of Ancona in 1990 his area of interest concerns microwave patch antennas medical applications of electromagnetic waves and electromagnetic compatibility. Now he is responsible for the EMC laboratory. Andrea Schiavoni was born in Jesi Italy in 1963. He received the degree in electronic engineering from the University of Ancona in 1990. At present he is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electronics and Automatics University of Ancona. His research interests are numerical modelling in electromagnetic compatibility and the interaction of electromagnetic fields and biological bodies.

At present he is working on his Ph.D. at the Centre for Satellite Engineering Research (CSER) University of Surrey on the performance of communication systems. Has been Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering University of Surrey since 1984. She is the author (or joint author) of more than 80 research papers. Currently she teaches courses in Telecommunication Networks and Computer Architecture. Her research interests include on-board processing for satellites protocols and performance issues. Received the BSc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Microwave Systems from the University of Leeds in 1965/1968. He was British Telecom Lecturer-Reader in Telecommunications Systems at the University of Essex from 1969–1983. Mr. Pettersen worked for the Naval Sea Systems Command from May 1981 until June 1985. He has been employed with NSWC Annapolis Detachment since June 1985. Charles L. Bielitz:is a mechanical engineer in the mechanical transmissions branch of Annapolis Detachment Carderock Division Naval Surface Warfare Center where he has worked for the past six years. He received his BSME from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1981. Prior to joining NSWC Annapolis he was employed by the General Electric Company in the medium steam turbine department. John Cianci:received his ASME from Tufts University in 1958 and his BSME from Tufts University in 1962. Mr. Cianci joined General Electric in 1954. He has thirty-seven years of experience in design manufacturing testing installation and customer support of high speed high power industrial marine and Navy gearing bearings couplings and lube systems. His experience includes positions of both engineer and manager in the areas of gear design gear products quality control and gear manufacturing engineering he is currently technical leader Gear Development Programs. Germany and an MS in naval architecture and marine engineering from MIT. He then joined Litton Ship Systems where he was responsible for the preliminary design of the DD-963 hull structure and then for ship system integration as manager LHA ship systems engineering department. From 1972 to 1974 he was the principal research scientist at Hydronautics. In 1974 as technical director he helped establish the Crystal City office of Designers and Planners. Mr. Jons was one of the co-founders of Advanced Marine Enterprises Inc. in 1976 where he serves as corporate vice president engineering. J. Christopher Ryan:earned his bachelors and masters degrees in naval architecture from Webb Institute and MIT respectively. He spent three years at the advanced marine technology division of Litton Industries working on the DD-963 class ship design and related computer aided design projects. He subsequently went to the Navy Department concentrating on early stage design of surface combatants for twelve years including work on the FFG-7 Sea Control Ship CSGN and CVV aircraft carrier projects. He then shifted focus and became the Technical Director for the Computer Supported Design Program in NavSea for five years. Mr. Ryan has served in several supervisory positions within the Ship Design Group in NavSea since that time. He is currently the director of the future ship concepts division. Gary W. Jones:graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1971 with a BS in mechanical engineering and followed up with graduate work at George Washington University and the University of Maryland. He was appointed Lecturer in Engineerking at Cambridge University in 1965 and Fellow of Trinity College Cambridge in 1966. In addition to papers on semiconductors microwaves radio-echo sounding and numerical electromagnetics his publications include a book on finite element methods (with P. P. Stuckman:holds a Ph.D. degree in systems engineering from Oakland University where he also obtained M.S. and B.S. degrees in electrical and computer engineering. In 1992 Dr. Stuckman obtained his J.D. from the University of Louisville where he graduated cum laude. He is currently an associate in the patent and computer law department of Brooks & Kushman a law firm specializing in intellectual property and technology related causes. Prior to this he was an associate professor of both electrical engineering at the University of Louisville and a member of the Research Advisory Board of the South Central Bell Telecommunications Research Center.
