The winter crop planting can bring increased income for peasants, but also improve the soil quality by rotation system. So, the planting area monitoring remote sensing of winter crops have been an important work for agriculture planting structure statistic, management and decision in south China. At present the cloudy and rainy weather is a very serious issue for remote sensing of winter crops in south China. So grasping the phenology of winter crops is of vital significance to establishment of remote sensing monitoring method and standard on winter crops. In order to form the remote sensing monitor method and standard to extract the planting area of winter crops, the paddy field and dryland based multi-temporal spectral angle remote sensing approach and standard were put forward, that includes five Landsat OLI image spectra and corresponding NDVI to compose the reference spectra of 40 bands during autumn and winter season. The mapping result in 12 experimental plots showed that the remote sensing monitoring standard performed well for retrieving the winter planting crops in guangdong province of south China. © 2016 IEEE.

Population migration,especially population inflow from epidemic areas,is a key source of the risk related to the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)*** paper selects guangdong Province,China,for a case *** utilizes big data on population migration and the geospatial analysis technique to develop a model to achieve spatiotemporal analysis of COVID-19 *** model takes into consideration the risk differential between the source cities of population migration as well as the heterogeneity in the socioeconomic characteristics of the destination cities of population *** further incorporates a time-lag process based on the time distribution of the onset of the imported *** theory,the model will be able to predict the evolutional trend and spatial distribution of the COVID-19 risk for a certain time period in the future and provide support for advanced planning and targeted prevention *** research findings indicate the following:(1)The COVID-19 epidemic in guangdong Province reached a turning point on January 29,2020,after which it showed a gradual decreasing trend.(2)Based on the time-lag analysis of the onset of the imported cases,it is common fora time interval to exist between case importation and illness onset,and the proportion of the cases with an interval of 1-14 days is relatively high.(3)There is evident spatial heterogeneity in the epidemic risk;the risk varies significantly between different areas based on their imported risk,susceptibility risk,and ability to prevent the spread.(4)The degree of connectedness and the scale of population migration between guangdong’s prefecture-level cities and their counterparts in the source regions of the epidemic,as well as the transportation and location factors of the cities in guangdong,have a significant impact on the risk classification of the cities in *** first-tier cities-Shenzhen and Guangzhou-are high-risk *** cities in the Pearl River Delta that are adjacent

The inspection procedure of Chinese high voltage power grid is mainly based on human inspection for many years. This is not only time-consuming and difficult, but the inspection results are also not objective and complete. Aiming at these problems, this paper gives a research method based on UAV-borne laser scanning. By taking the orthophotos of the power line corridor area and using the overlapping feature points of the image, the orientation elements of each photo are inversely calculated. According to the principle of aerial triangulation, the pixel matching algorithm is used to calculate the dense point cloud data of the survey area, and the power line point in the point cloud is selected to simulate the complete power line. By calculating the Euclidean distance between the power line and the power line protection area, the calculated result is compared with the power line safety specification to obtain information such as a tree barrier point or an early warning point. It can effectively identify many important defects such as wire-vegetation, wire-building, wire-crossing, etc., and greatly improve the quality and efficiency of the inspection process of existing high-voltage transmission lines. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Leaf area index (LAI) is an important indicator of crop growth status. In this paper, the relationships between canopy reflectance at 400–2500 nm and leaf area index (LAI) in pepper crop were studied. 102 pair of canopy reflectance and LAI of pepper were collected in 2014–2015. Reflectance of canopy were measured in the field over a spectral range of 400–2500 nm. Simultaneously, the LAI were collected by the LAI-2000. Estimation models of LAI were developed based on the whole spectrum range by partial least squares regression (PLSR) and support vector regression (SVR), respectively. Then the field canopy spectra were resampled according to the band response functions of seven satellite sensors. They were the Vegetation and environment monitoring on a new micro-satellite (VENlS), Worldview-2 (WV-2), RapidEye-1 (RE-1), HJ1/CCD1, Sentinel-2, Landsat 8/OLI and GaoFen (GF) 1/WFV1. The values of common used spectral indices were calculated based on the simulated sensor bands, respectively. Prediction models were also developed based on the spectral indices and simulated bands. The results showed that the PLSR model by whole spectrum had the good accuracy of LAI estimation with the R2c = 0.726, RMSEc = 0.462, R2cv = 0.635, RMSEcv = 0.538. For the simulated satellite datasets, the better LAI estimation were obtained by Sentinel-2 and Venls bands with the R2cv greater than 0.600 and RMSEcv less than 0.557. The Estimation model by simulated WV-2 bands, and RE-1 bands had the lowest performance with the R2cv between 0.50 and 0.55, and RMSEcv between 0.600 and 0.623. The inversion results demonstrated the potential of the multispectral remote sensing data to calibrate the LAI estimation model of winter pepper for the precision agriculture application. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2017.

The development of airborne laser radar technology and cloud data processing technology provides a new technical means for the acquisition and processing of geospatial 3D data. Based on the self-developed LiDAR UAV, this paper proposes a new point cloud automatic classification method (TL-PCACM) of transmission lines by using the improved fast 3D convex hull construction algorithm, k-means clustering analysis algorithm and Region-growing algorithm, which have high classification accuracy, good classification effect and fast processing speed. The accuracy of point cloud automatic classification is over 95%, the efficiency can reach 60 km/h. The proposed method is applied to the analysis of tree obstacles under transmission lines. The efficiency of the automatic identification of tree obstacles can reach 720 towers/hour. The accuracy can reach 50 cm. It provides high efficiency, high quality, fully automatic and intelligent data processing method for the classification of tree obstacles, effectively improving the processing accuracy and speed of geospatial 3D information data. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Spatial Distribution Pattern and Han Subgroup Characteristics of Traditional Villages in guangdong

A total of 126 traditional villages in guangdong were selected for research to analyze their spatial distribution pattern, spatial autocorrelation, and Han subgroup characteristics through the spatial analysis with GIS. The results showed that the traditional villages in guangdong were distributed compactly, which was similar to that in other provinces; on the prefecture-level city scale, they were mainly distributed in Meizhou, Qingyuan, Zhanjiang, and Zhaoqing, showing a central distribution; on the regional scale, they were mainly distributed in northern guangdong and the Pearl River Delta, indicating an unbalanced distribution; their density of spatial distribution showed a significant difference with a provincial distribution density of 0.59 per thousand km^2 and the highest distribution density of 2.14 per thousand km^2; there were four gathering areas accommodating many traditional villages, namely Meizhou-Chaoshan area, Guangfo-Dongguan area, Leizhou in Zhanjiang, and Lianzhou in Qingyuan; the spatial distribution of traditional villages, which presented a pattern of hot spot—sub-hot spot—sub-cold spot—cold spot, had a significant global spatial autocorrelation, and areas in similar sizes were tending towards gathering; traditional villages in guangdong belonged to the Cantonese-speaking group and Hakka-speaking group with a density of 0.59 per thousand km^2 and 0.48 per thousand km^2 respectively, and Han subgroup with the highest distribution density was the minority areas of 1.31 per thousand km^2, followed by Shaozhou dialect area with a density of 1.00 per thousand km^2.

Directional Analysis of Urban Expansion Based on Sub-pixel and Regional Scale: A Case Study of Main Districts in Guangzhou, China

Multi-scale data have had a wide-ranging level of performance in the area of urban change monitoring. Herein we investigate the correlation between the impervious surface fraction(ISF) and the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program/Operational Linescan System(DMSP/OLS) nighttime stable light(NTL) data with respect to the urban expansion in the main districts of Guangzhou. Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper and Landsat 8 Operational Land Image(OLI) data from 1988 to 2015 were used to extract the ISF using the linear spectral mixture analysis model and normal difference build-up index at the sub-pixel scale. DMSP/OLS NTL data from 1992 to 2013 were calibrated to illustrate the urban nighttime light conditions at the regional scale. Urban expansion directions were identified by statistics and kernel density analysis for the ISF study area at the sub-pixel scale. In addition, the correlation between the ISF and DMSP/OLS NTL data were illustrated by linear regression analysis. Furthermore, Profile Graph in ArcGIS was employed to illustrate the urban expansion from the differences in correlation in different directions. The conclusions are as follows: 1) The impervious surface(IS)in the study area has expanded to the northeast and the east, starting with the old urban zones, and the high-density IS area has increased by321.14 km^2. 2) The linear regression analysis reveals a positive correlation between the ISF and the DMSP/OLS NTL data. The multi-scale data changes are consistent with the actual urban planning of Guangzhou. 3) The DMSP/OLS NTL data overestimate the urban extent because of its saturation and blooming effects, causing its correlation with ISF to decrease. The pattern of urban expansion influences the saturation and blooming effects of the DMSP/OLS NTL data.

Online evaluation of water quality by mid-infrared spectroscopy in river network areas of Suzhou City

Fifty typical stations were selected to measure mid-infrared spectroscopy in the river network areas of Suzhou city, on November 23, 2009 and five water quality parameters were analyzed for every measured station, including Total Phosphorous (TP), Total Nitrogen (TN), K, Mg and Cu. The correlations between the water quality parameters and spectral reflectance were analyzed. The single band, multiple linear regression and synergy interval partial least squares (SiPLS) models were built based on reflectance. The results show that, for TN and TP, the SiPLS models have the smallest RMSE and TN and TP can be detected efficiently by in situ mid-infrared spectral analysis (r>0.76). For the prediction of K, Mg, the results indicate that the optimal method is with the single band models of the reflectance and the concentration derived from the single band models are strongly correlated with the measured concentration (r>0.79). The study indicated that the water quality parameters can be monitored by mid-infrared spectroscopy technology, which would provide the water supply and conservancy authorities with referenced spatial information to manage water resources. © 2013 Asian Network for Scientific information.
