Unsupervised cross-modal retrieval leveraging hash learning has attracted a lot of interest from academics, primarily due to its minimal storage requirements, swift retrieval speeds, and label-free nature, making it a prime candidate for real-world applications. Nevertheless, the inherent "heterogeneous differences"and "semantic gap"within cross-modal data features pose significant challenges. Despite various attempts by scholars to address these issues, the existing solutions often fall short in terms of effectiveness. This can be attributed to several reasons: Firstly, image features, in contrast to text features, possess a plethora of attributes, making it challenging to extract features that possess strong expressive capabilities. Secondly, each modality of data exhibits not only inter-node correlations but also intricate relationships between individual nodes and their neighboring nodes. Consequently, a straightforward semantic correlation matrix is inadequate in capturing the intricate structural relationships within the data. Thirdly, the neglect of internal structural associations results in insufficient representation capabilities of binary hash codes in the Hamming space, hampering the learning of effective hash functions. To address these limitations, we introduce a Spatiality-Aligned Graph Convolution Hashing (SAGCH) algorithm. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our SAGCH method excels in both "image-to-text retrieval"and "text-to-image retrieval"tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

image restoration is a classic foundational visual task, aimed at recovering damaged images, such as those affected by compression, blurring, or noise, to high-definition clarity. Although current image enhancement techniques largely rely on convolutional neural networks, the efficient capabilities of Transformers demonstrated in complex visual tasks have not yet been extensively applied in the field of image restoration. This paper presents an optimized image restoration strategy based on the SwinIR model, which is applied to the task of underwater image restoration. In the shallow feature extraction phase, deep separable convolution technology is employed;while in the deep feature extraction phase, a Spatial Gated Feedforward Network (SGFN) is utilized. The experimental data suggests that the novel approach surpasses conventional techniques in effectiveness and has effectively minimized both the model's parameter quantity and computational demands. © 2025 IEEE.

When estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) of wideband signals from multiple sources, the performance of sparse Bayesian methods is influenced by the frequency bands occupied by signals in different directions. This is particularly true when multiple signal frequency bands overlap. Message passing algorithms (MPA) with Dirichlet process (DP) prior can be employed in a sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) framework with high precision. However, existing methods suffer from either high complexity or low precision. To address this, we propose a low-complexity DOA estimation algorithm based on a factor graph. This approach introduces two strong constraints via a stretching transformation of the factor graph. The first constraint separates the observation from the DP prior, enabling the application of the unitary approximate message passing (UAMP) algorithm for simplified inference and mitigation of divergence issues. The second constraint compensates for the deviation in estimation angle caused by the grid mismatch problem. Compared to state-of-the-art algorithms, our proposed method offers higher estimation accuracy and lower complexity.

The application of deep learning in 3D mesh segmentation has attracted increasing attention. In supervisedlearning based mesh segmentation, back propagation is often based on cross entropy loss. Some prior knowledge, such as the structure similarity or geometric consistency of data, can be used to improve the segmentation effect. However, in the literature for mesh segmentation, such prior knowledge is usually either ignored in deep learning or only considered at post-processing stage. In this work, we add prior knowledge as a regularization term into the loss function for optimization, which is applied in the semi-supervised 3D mesh segmentation based on MeshCNN for the first time. A large number of experiments show that, for both semi-supervised segmentation with 30% and 70% labeled data and fully supervised segmentation, the proposed regularization term improves the segmentation performance. © 2024 IEEE.

In the research methods of sentence similarity, sentence similarity is often calculated from the semantic aspect, while the influence of syntactic structure is ignored. We propose an enhanced knowledge language representation model (ExtKBRCNN) based on CNN and Bi-GRU, which effectively uses the fine-grained word relations in the knowledge base to evaluate semantic similarity and models the relationship between knowledge structure and text structure. In order to make full use of the syntactic information of the sentence, we also propose a dependency tree kernel-based method (Dep-SIF), which combines syntactic information and semantic features to evaluate syntactic similarity. Finally, we propose a comprehensive model that integrates semantic and syntactic information to comprehensively evaluate sentence similarity. Experimental results show that the accuracy of the model on the MRPC dataset is 77.63% and the F1 value is 83.90%. © 2024 IEEE.

The task of gland segmentation based on deep learning serves as a crucial auxiliary tool for diagnosing cancer. However, existing methods still exhibit shortcomings in handling gland adhesion and scale adaptability. To address these issues, we propose a gland segmentation approach that leverages morphological cues and multi-level feature fusion. By analyzing the morphological and imaging characteristics of glands, we have devised a novel scheme for label generation and loss weighting to guide model training. This scheme helps alleviate the challenge posed by the presence of adjacent glands and their adhesion. Additionally, by exploring the correlation between semantic features at different levels, we have developed a new feature fusion mechanism to mitigate issues related to model inaccuracies arising from variations in gland scales. Through experimental comparisons and discussions with classical and state-of-the-art methods, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach. © 2023 IEEE.

The pursuit of accurate and fluent English communication is the cornerstone of global academic exchange and expression. The accuracy of written English is crucial for effective discourse;however, despite advancements in grammatical error correction (GEC) technology, these systems often fall short when analyzing coherent text. This paper delves into the complexities of English writing and the challenges posed by current GEC systems, advocating for a shift toward understanding document-level context in error correction. We propose a dual-encoder architecture within an encoder-decoder model, referred to as the Context-Aware Grammatical Error Correction (CAGEC) model. The CAGEC model employs an innovative dual-encoder structure, combining the encoder of the Transformer model with a Bi-GRU (Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit) neural network, and integrates encoding into the decoder through attention and gating mechanisms to achieve a deep understanding of the source sentence and its context. © 2024 IEEE.

Knowledge Tracing (KT), a technique for modeling students' knowledge levels and predicting their future question-answering performance based on their historical answer data, is one of the key research areas to strengthen the ability of personalized education. In recent years, memory networks have received more and more attention and application in the field of KT, however, the current KT model based on memory networks ignores the effect of students' learning sequence on the level of forgetting, and fails to model the forgetting behavior of students in the process of learning by using the characteristics of time intervals in the interaction data. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a dynamic student classification with forgetting mechanisms on memory networks model (DSCFMN), which enhance the existing model by dynamically classifying students similar to their learning abilities at specified time intervals, incorporating forgetting factors and introducing a weight decay strategy. Experiments show that our model performs well on online education datasets, and the proposed model achieves better prediction results than existing knowledge tracking methods. © 2024 IEEE.

To handle data stream classification with concept drifts, recent studies have shown that a continuously evolving network structure can achieve better performance. However, firstly, they only change one hidden node at a time, which is not enough to alleviate underfitting or overfitting of network model, leading to model’s inability to fit data well. Secondly, during the growth process of the network, they did not consider reducing hidden layers, which would affect the learning ability of deep neural network models. To overcome these shortcomings, an adaptive neural network structure (ANSN) is proposed to handle data stream classification with concept drifts. ANSN has a completely open structure, its network structure, depth, and width can evolve automatically in online mode. The experimental results on ten popular data stream datasets show that the proposed ANSN outperforms the comparison methods. It is difficult for children to build electronic building blocks. In order to facilitate users to build building blocks, this paper designs and implements an electronic building block auxiliary system based on machine vision. The system uses the deep learning object detection model PP-YOLOv2 to detect the building block pictures taken by the user, obtain the location information of all the two-dimensional code in the pictures, and then decode the two-dimensional code, perform perspective transformation on the pictures, and obtain the final two-dimensional code decoding information and location information. Finally, the position of the QR code identified by the building blocks on the user’s picture is crossed and compared with the position of the standard building blocks, so as to determine whether the building blocks placed by the user are correct and give the user a prompt. The system test shows that the system is not only easy to use, but also easy to maintain, and can correctly handle most of the small and medium difficulty examples in the electronic building blocks course. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
