Semi-Supervised Classification of Data Streams by BIRCH Ensemble and Local Structure Mapping

Many researchers have applied clustering to handle semi-supervised classification of data streams with concept ***,the generalization ability for each specific concept cannot be steadily improved,and the concept drift detection method without considering the local structural information of data cannot accurately detect concept *** paper proposes to solve these problems by BIRCH(Balanced Iterative Reducing and Clustering Using Hierarchies)ensemble and local structure *** local structure mapping strategy is utilized to compute local similarity around each sample and combined with semi-supervised Bayesian method to perform concept *** a recurrent concept is detected,a historical BIRCH ensemble classifier is selected to be incrementally updated;otherwise a new BIRCH ensemble classifier is constructed and added into the classifier *** extensive experiments on several synthetic and real datasets demonstrate the advantage of the proposed algorithm.

The auto focusing process is affected by the amount of image content, resulting in the focus curve not meeting the characteristics of the ideal focus curve. In this paper, aiming at the problem that the traditional autofocus cannot find the focal plane successfully in the case of microscopic sparse content, the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis of 12 traditional focus evaluation functions are carried out. The experimental results show that the F Tenengrad function is suitable for the optimal focus evaluation function of sparse microscopic images. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Today, the world economy is in the stage of rapid development, followed by the rising quantity, the decreasing moisture content, and the increasing heat value of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Since waste incineration has the advantages of excellent volume reduction effect, high resource utilization efficiency, and less secondary pollution to the environment, waste incineration disposal technology has received extensive attention worldwide. With the continuous increase of the urban population, the amount of sewage sludge is growing year by year. The process of the sludge incineration system is highly complicated, and the cost of construction and operation is high. The waste incinerator can process not only MSW but also sewage sludge. Therefore, the co-incineration of sewage sludge with MSW in the existing waste incinerator is a safe and effective way to dispose of sewage sludge. In this paper, the simulation results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are analyzed for medium-scale and large-scale waste incinerators, characterized by high moisture content, high ash content, low heat value of sewage sludge, and incomplete combustion and high pollutant emissions in waste incinerators. With FLIC-Fluent coupled simulation method, the critical information such as temperature field, velocity field, concentration field of principal components, and the pollutant emissions can be predicted. Based on the CFD simulation results, the performance and structure of waste incinerators can be optimized, and the new products can be designed and developed. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Mem Brain: An Easy-to-Use Online Webserver for Transmembrane Protein Structure Prediction

Membrane proteins are an important kind of proteins embedded in the membranes of cells and play crucial roles in living organisms, such as ion channels,transporters, receptors. Because it is difficult to determinate the membrane protein's structure by wet-lab experiments,accurate and fast amino acid sequence-based computational methods are highly desired. In this paper, we report an online prediction tool called Mem Brain, whose input is the amino acid sequence. Mem Brain consists of specialized modules for predicting transmembrane helices, residue–residue contacts and relative accessible surface area of a-helical membrane proteins. Mem Brain achieves aprediction accuracy of 97.9% of ATMH, 87.1% of AP,3.2 ± 3.0 of N-score, 3.1 ± 2.8 of C-score. Mem BrainContact obtains 62%/64.1% prediction accuracy on training and independent dataset on top L/5 contact prediction,respectively. And Mem Brain-Rasa achieves Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.733 and its mean absolute error of13.593. The traditional experimental teaching method is single, and students lack learning initiative and creativity, which leads to the problem of insufficient teaching quality. Therefore, this paper proposes a virtual experiment online teaching system of university economics and management based on virtualization technology. Firstly, optimize the system hardware structure and improve the allowable effect of system equipment configuration. Then, the three-tier structure of customer layer, application service layer and data layer is used to optimize the system software functions, and simplify the working principle and multi-layer architecture of the online virtual experiment system based on B/S mode, so as to achieve the online teaching goal of economic and management virtual experiment in colleges and universities. The experimental results show that the system has high practicability, can effectively improve the teaching quality, and fully meet the expected requirements of the research. © 2022, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Curves generated by traditional evaluating functions contain large amount of local extremums, easily leading to focal-plane misjudgments. We propose a new clarity evaluation method based on spectral radius. The spatial information is converted into frequency domain by Discrete Cosine Transformation, then a sector that contains more than 99 percent of the total spectrum energy is extracted, and the radius of this sector is employed to estimate the degree of clarity of current image. Since the scope of spectral radius is steady and limited to image size, it provides effective reference for selection of lower limit of spectral radius which is utilized to avoid local fluctuation and maintain the unimodality of evaluation curves. The experimental results demonstrate that the spectral radius based evaluation method forms curves with fewer local extremums and better robustness. © 2019 IEEE.

Unsupervised cross-modal retrieval leveraging hash learning has attracted a lot of interest from academics, primarily due to its minimal storage requirements, swift retrieval speeds, and label-free nature, making it a prime candidate for real-world applications. Nevertheless, the inherent "heterogeneous differences"and "semantic gap"within cross-modal data features pose significant challenges. Despite various attempts by scholars to address these issues, the existing solutions often fall short in terms of effectiveness. This can be attributed to several reasons: Firstly, image features, in contrast to text features, possess a plethora of attributes, making it challenging to extract features that possess strong expressive capabilities. Secondly, each modality of data exhibits not only inter-node correlations but also intricate relationships between individual nodes and their neighboring nodes. Consequently, a straightforward semantic correlation matrix is inadequate in capturing the intricate structural relationships within the data. Thirdly, the neglect of internal structural associations results in insufficient representation capabilities of binary hash codes in the Hamming space, hampering the learning of effective hash functions. To address these limitations, we introduce a Spatiality-Aligned Graph Convolution Hashing (SAGCH) algorithm. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our SAGCH method excels in both "image-to-text retrieval"and "text-to-image retrieval"tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

When estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) of wideband signals from multiple sources, the performance of sparse Bayesian methods is influenced by the frequency bands occupied by signals in different directions. This is particularly true when multiple signal frequency bands overlap. Message passing algorithms (MPA) with Dirichlet process (DP) prior can be employed in a sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) framework with high precision. However, existing methods suffer from either high complexity or low precision. To address this, we propose a low-complexity DOA estimation algorithm based on a factor graph. This approach introduces two strong constraints via a stretching transformation of the factor graph. The first constraint separates the observation from the DP prior, enabling the application of the unitary approximate message passing (UAMP) algorithm for simplified inference and mitigation of divergence issues. The second constraint compensates for the deviation in estimation angle caused by the grid mismatch problem. Compared to state-of-the-art algorithms, our proposed method offers higher estimation accuracy and lower complexity.

The accessibility and transitivity have an important significance in terms of theory and application. The concept of the accessibility and transitivity are introduced in this paper. We study their dynamical properties. The following result are obtained: (l)Let (K , G ) be the hyperspace of (X , G ). Then ( X , G ) is accessible if and only if (K , G ) is accessible;(2) Let (K , G) be the hyperspace of (X , G). Then (X , G ) is transitive if and only if (K , G ) is transitive. These results enriched the theory of the accessibility and transitivity of topological group. © 2020 IEEE.
