In this paper, Jacobi stability of a resonant nonlinear Schrödinger (RNS) system is studied by the KCC theory, which is also called differential geometric method. The RNS system is transformed into an equivalent planar differential system by traveling wave transformation, then the Lyapunov stability of equilibrium points of the planar system is analyzed. By constructing geometric invariants, we analyze and discuss the Jacobi stability of three equilibrium points. The results show that the zero point is always Jacobi stable, while the Jacobi stability of the other nonzero equilibrium points are determined by the values of the parameters. In addition, the focusing tendency towards trajectories around the equilibrium points are studied by the dynamical behavior of deviation vector. Finally, numerical results show that the system presents quasi-periodic and chaotic phenomena under periodic disturbances.

This paper demonstrates the design and fabrication of three-dimensional(3 D) hexagonally ordered microbowl arrays(MBAs) decorated with Cu In S2 nanosheets for enhanced photoelectrochemical(PEC) performance. The 3 D MBAs are fabricated by a micro-fabrication technique. The ultrathin CuInS2 nanosheets are grown on the 3 D electrodes by solvothermal transformation of Cu film. The photocurrent density of 3 D photocathode(CuInS2@MBAs) is about two times higher than that of the planar counterpart(CuInS2@Planar). The improved PEC performance can be ascribed to the elevated light trapping ability and the increased surface area for loading photocatalysts. In addition, CdS quantum dots as cocatalysts are modified onto the Cu In S2 nanosheets to further enhance the PEC activity because the formed p-n heterojunction can accelerate the separation of photogenerated carriers. As a result, the 3 D photocathode of CuInS2/CdS@MBAs shows an optimal incident photon to current efficiency of 10% at the wavelength of400 nm. It is believed that this work can be generalized to design other hierarchical 3 D photoelectrodes for improved solar water splitting.

Taking into account the startup behaviour of following vehicles in the waiting area of urban traffic signal, we propose an extended Nagel-Schreckenberg model for single-lane traffic flow, in which the dynamic behavior of each vehicle depends on not only its own headway but also the headway of the immediately preceding one. The numerical simulation of the present model reproduces some complicated nonlinear phenomena observed in real traffic such as free flow, ghostly blockage, synchronized flow and so on. For specific parameter combinations the flow-density relation of this model shows two meta-stable branches near the transition density from free flow to wide moving traffic jam. Finally, the analytical results of the model under some specific parameters are given by using the mean field theory.

The measurements on actual traffic have revealed the existence of meta-stable states with high flow. Such nonlinear phenomena have not been observed in the classic Nagel-Schreckenberg traffic flow model. Here we just add a constraint to the classic model by introducing a velocity-dependent randomization. Two typical randomization strategies are adopted in this paper. It is shown that the Matthew effect is a necessary condition to induce traffic meta-stable states, thus shedding a light on the prerequisites for the emergence of hysteresis loop in the fundamental diagrams.

The Sakaguchi-Kuramoto model is a modification of the well-known Kuramoto model, in which a frustration factor is added to the coupling term of each phase oscillator. The added frustration factor destroys the gradient structure, but the modified model is more widely used in practice. In this paper, we study how frustration factors influence the synchronization transition of coupled oscillators in the Sakaguchi-Kuramoto model with frequency mismatch rules. The results show that in the system of coupled oscillators, the frustration factor manifests a disorder field, which restrains the explosive synchronization and weakens the synchronization ability of the whole network. In addition, it is found that the frequency synchronization can not be detected by the common phase order parameter, so a new index is introduced to characterize the degree of frequency synchronization. As an example, at the end of the paper, we theoretically analyze the synchronization dynamics of two-oscillator system, and indirectly verify the correctness of simulations for the multi-body system.
