Ischemic heart disease(IHD)is one of the leading causes of death ***,different geographic regions show different variations of the risk factors of this disease based on the different lifestyles of *** study examines the current IHD condition in southern Bangladesh,a Southeast Asian middle-income *** main approach to this research is an Al-based proposal of a reduced set of the greatest impact clinical traits that may cause *** approach attempts to reduce IHD morbidity and mortality by early detection of risk factors using the reduced set of clinical ***,diagnostic,and symptomatic features were considered for analysing this clinical *** pre-processing utilizes several machine learning techniques to select significant features and make meaningful interpretations.A proposed voting mechanism ranked the selected 138 features by their impact *** this regard,diverse patterns in correlations with variables,including age,sex,career,family history,obesity,etc.,were calculated and explained in terms of voting *** the 138 risk factors,three labels were categorized:high-risk,medium-risk,and low-risk features;19 features were regarded as high,25 were medium,and 94 were considered low impactful *** research's technological methodology and practical goals provide an innovative and resilient framework for addressing IHD,especially in less developed cities and townships of Bangladesh,where the general population's socioeconomic conditions are often *** data collection,pre-processing,and use of this study's complete and comprehensive IHD patient dataset is another innovative *** believe that other relevant research initiatives will benefit from this work.

A Data-Driven Adaptive Control Approach for Enhancing the Dynamic Response of VSGs in Varying Grid Conditions

Conventionally, a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) is designed for islanded mode (IM) operation to meet specific operational requirements such as the rate of change of frequency (RoCoF). However, the operation of VSG designed for IM may not meet the operational and control criteria in grid connected mode (GCM) when the grid conditions vary. In addition, conventional VSG control technology does not consider the influence of the presynchronization scheme when connected to a weak grid, which degrades the RoCoF in IM. To overcome the aforementioned challenges, the proposed study presents a twin-delayed deep deterministic policy gradient (TD3) algorithm to improve the seamless transition performance of VSG from IM to GCM and vice versa. In the first step, the VSG-based power system model is used as a foundation for problem formulation of the proposed TD3 algorithm. Secondly, a reward function is designed according to the performance requirements, i.e., frequency and RoCoF requirements, of the VSG in order to guide the training of the agent in varying load, power reference, and grid conditions. Finally, the superiority of the proposed algorithm over existing methods is validated in MATLAB/SIMULINK and RTDS based real-time simulation environment. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

Boasting superior flexibility in beam manipulation and a simpler framework than traditional phased arrays,terahertz metasurface-based phased arrays show great promise for 5G-A/6G communication *** with the reflective reconfigurable intelligent surface(reflective RIS),the transmissive RIS(TRIS)offers more feasibility for transceiver multiplexing systems to meet the growing demand for high-performance beam tracking in terahertz communication and radar ***,the terahertz TRIS encounters greater challenges in phase shift,beam efficiency,and complex ***,we propose a sub-terahertz TRIS based on the phase shift via Pancharatnam-Berry(PB)metasurface and self-on-off keying(OOK)modulation via Schottky *** electrically reconfigurable unit cell consists of a column-wise phase resonator and a rectangular *** experimental retrieved equivalent lumped-element circuit model is implemented in joint field-circuit simulations and is validated by experiments.A fabricated prototype demonstrates excellent performance of TRIS with the minimum insertion loss of 2.8 dB for operational states,large bandwidth nearly covering the entire W-band for 1-bit phase shift,deep OOK amplitude modulation of 12 dB,and wide scanning range of±60°with low specular *** further implement an integrated platform combining high-speed beam steering and spatial-light modulation,verifying the point-to-point signal transmissions in different directions using the TRIS *** proposed TRIS with high-performance and cost-effective fabrication makes it a promising solution to terahertz minimalist communication systems,radar,and satellite communication systems.

Adopting Graph Neural Networks to Understand and Reason About Dynamic Driving Scenarios

With advances in Deep Neural Networks (DNN), Automated Driving Systems (ADS) enable the vehicle to perceive their surroundings in dynamic driving scenarios and perform behaviors by collecting operational data from sensors such as LiDAR and cameras. Current DNN typically detect objects by analyzing and classifying unstructured data (e.g., image data), providing critical information for ADS planning and decision-making. However, advanced ADS, particularly those required to perform the Dynamic Driving Task (DDT) autonomously, are expected to understand driving scenarios across various Operational Design Domains (ODD). This capability requires the support for a continuous comprehension of driving scenarios according to operational data collected by sensors. This paper presents a framework that adopts Graph Neural Networks (GNN) to describe and reason about dynamic driving scenarios via analyzing graph-based data based on collected sensor inputs. We first construct the graph-based data using a meta-path, which defines various interactions among different traffic participants. Next, we propose a design of GNN to support both the classification of the node types of objects and predicting relationships between objects. As results, the performance of the proposed method shows significant improvements compared to the baseline method. Specifically, the accuracy of node classification increases from 0.77 to 0.85, while that of relationships prediction rises from 0.74 to 0.82. To further utilize graph-based data constructed from dynamic driving scenarios, the proposed framework supports reasoning about operational risks by analyzing the observed nodes and relationships in the graph-based data. As a result, the model achieves a MRR of 0.78 in operational risks reasoning. To evaluate the practicality of the proposed framework in real-world systems, we also conduct a real-time performance evaluation by measuring the average process time and the Worst Case Execution Time (WCET). Pisciculture encounters an array of intricate challenges that span disease management, preservation of water quality, prevention of genetic hybridization, ensuring the integrity of net systems, sourcing sustainable aquatic feed, and comprehending fish growth and reproductive dynamics. Addressing these multifaceted challenges necessitates a comprehensive research approach. This study employs an innovative synergy of fuzzy logic and deep learning techniques, resulting in a robust strategy to tackle these obstacles effectively. Fuzzy logic excels in assessing stressed fish conditions by handling inherent uncertainties. Simultaneously, YOLOv7 with fuzzy color enhancement (YOLOv7FCE) is used to detect damaged fish nets, thereby mitigating losses and upholding the integrity of the net infrastructure. This approach also leverages YOLOv7FCE for identifying Cobia fish within shoals, streamlining the identification process. Subsequently, DeepLabv3 is implemented to meticulously segment the recognized Cobia fish, facilitating precise measurements of their physical attributes. This comprehensive methodology yields profound insights into growth patterns and feeding tendencies within the confined aquatic environment. By embracing this approach, the research presents a versatile and adaptive framework that not only enhances our comprehension of piscine dynamics but also holds the potential to revolutionize the aquaculture industry. © The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Taiwan Fuzzy Systems Association 2024.

A Self-Labeling Method for Adaptive Machine Learning by Interactive Causality

Learning from unlabeled data or self-learning, can substantially reduce the complexity of machine learning (ML) utilization in real-time deployment. While the development of un/semisupervised algorithms shows promising results in learning with reduced labels, the fundamental assumption of data smoothness restricts its scope of application, especially with nonstationary data distributions in different domains. Leveraging transdomain invariant causal relationships, causality has recently been employed to foster robust ML. In this article, we have developed a generic method for self-labeling data that relies on known causality among interactive objects and learned temporal relations among causal events for identifying and associating labels and input data. The causal time-interval between asynchronous cause and effect events is studied to achieve self-labeling. We utilize dynamical system theory in a 1-d setting to demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms traditional feature similarity-based semisupervised learning. A computer simulation experiment was conducted to generate high-dimensional data, and the comprehensive results reveal the potential of learning adaptation in dynamic environments to improve ML robustness against shifts in data distribution. © 2023 IEEE.

The development of demand-side management with controlled loads has received a lot of attention as a result of the smart grid's ongoing growth and the energy market's volatility. The large number of household loads in the residential sector has generated a great deal of interest in managing the energy consumption of individual residences. This paper suggests simulating the monitoring of several SHEMS (smart home energy management system) characteristics. We have concentrated on the functionalities of the suggested design that gather data and analyse it, and we'll apply them to common home loads like electric water heaters and charging stations for electric cars. Overall, we discovered that the modelling of the loads results in considerable financial savings for consumers when a SHEMS is put into place. Here, we'll use blockchain technology to transfer data securely. Every piece of energy data has a timestamp and a hash value. Since blockchain technology operates through code and encrypts all data, it is becoming more and more difficult for hackers to have a field day. Additionally, since all records are linked to one another via time stamps and hash codes, any change would have a significant impact on the entire database. © 2024 IEEE.

To reduce system complexity and bridge the interface between electronic and photonic circuits,there is a high demand for a non-volatile memory that can be accessed both electrically and ***,practical solutions are still lacking when considering the potential for large-scale complementary metal-oxide semiconductor compatible ***,we present an experimental demonstration of a non-volatile photonic-electronic memory based on a 3-dimensional monolithic integrated ferroelectric-silicon ring *** successfully demonstrate programming and erasing the memory using both electrical and optical methods,assisted by optical-to-electrical-to-optical *** memory cell exhibits a high optical extinction ratio of 6.6 dB at a low working voltage of 5 V and an endurance of 4×10^(4) ***,the multi-level storage capability is analyzed in detail,revealing stable performance with a raw bit-error-rate smaller than 5.9×10^(−2).This ground-breaking work could be a key technology enabler for future hybrid electronic-photonic systems,targeting a wide range of applications such as photonic interconnect,high-speed data communication,and neuromorphic computing.
