Robust modified projective synchronization of fractional-order chaotic systems with parameters perturbation and external disturbance

Based on fractional-order Lyapunov stability theory, this paper provides a novel method to achieve robust modified projective synchronization of two uncertain fractional-order chaotic systems with external disturbance. simulation of the fractional-order Lorenz chaotic system and fractional-order Chen＇s chaotic system with both parameters uncertainty and external disturbance show the applicability and the efficiency of the proposed scheme.

Operating Statuses Identification (OSI) can help operators to find fault timely and minimize the loss. So it is of great significance for optimal operation of photovoltaic (PV) plants. The loss quantity of electricity (LQOE) is defined as that should have been generated but actually not, which is caused by inverter fault, PV modules fault, dust stratification or combinations of them. Firstly, mathematical models of PV cells are proposed to figure out the LQOE of each PV module. Secondly, after analysing the relation between LQOE and operating statuses, an index set of LQOE describing the distinction of different operating statuses are defined including four statistical feature parameters and a user-defined index. Thirdly, Support Vector Classification models for OSI (OSI-SVC) are built with input features extracted from the index set. Lastly, simulations are carried out to verify the effectiveness and evaluate the performance of the OSI-SVC models. The results indicated that the operating statuses can be effectively recognized by the proposed model.

Markovian jump linear system is a class of systems which is subjected to abrupt variations in their structures and parameters due to sudden disturbances effectively. A lot of practical engineering process can be modeled by this class of systems and the systems quite have great value. The pointment in this paper is focused on the study of basic performance, condition of the stochastic stability of the system, and the design of the controller based on the Lyapunov function approach and Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). Through the numberical test and simulation test of MATLAB, the controller designed is proved to be effective. © Sila Science. All Rights Reserved.

This paper presents a new control strategy for three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) pulse width modulated (PWM) rectifier without power source voltage sensors. The relationship between instantaneous power and voltage vectors is derived mathematically. Virtual flux is estimated and used to calculate the phase of the power source voltage and instantaneous power. On these bases, a direct power control (DPC) scheme for three-level PWM rectifier is presented. An optimal switching table is established, vector switching scheme and balance strategy for the neutral point potential are discussed. Variable switching frequency and dynamic process of the startup are also analyzed. Experimental results have verified the theoretical approach and the three-level PWM rectifier with proposed DPC based on virtual flux exhibits several advantages, such as simple algorithm, low costs and excellent dynamic performance. © 2014 IEEE.

This paper investigates the problem of quantized ℋ∞ filtering for a class of discrete-time linear parameter-varying systems with Markovian switching under data missing. The measured output of the plant is quantized by a logarithmic mode-independent quantizer. The data missing phenomenon is modeled by a stochastic variable. The purpose of the problem addressed is to design a full-order ℋ∞ filter such that the filtering error dynamics is stochastically stable and the prescribed noise attenuation level in the ℋ∞ sense can be achieved. Sufficient conditions are derived for the existence of such filters in terms of parameterized linear matrix inequalities. Then the corresponding filter synthesis problem is transformed into a convex optimization problem that can be efficiently solved by using standard software packages. A simulation example is utilized to demonstrate the usefulness of the developed theoretical results. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) is a stochastic computational evolutionary technique which is based on intelligence of swarms but its convergence and search accuracy still need to be improved. Chaotic search, average initiate particle location, variable search zone, anti-prematurity strategy, inflection algorithm and changeable momentum weights were combined with PSO algorithm in order to solve these problems. This modified chaotic PSO was used to identify values of the transfer function on a circulation fluidized bed boiler combustion system. simulation result shows that combining analytical, intelligent and experimental approach is an effective and practicable modeling approach. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper is concerned with the problems of composite disturbance- observer-based control (DOBC) and H∞ control for Markovian jump systems with nonlinearity and multiple disturbances. Our aim is to design a disturbance observer to estimate the disturbance generated by an exogenous system, then construct the control scheme by integrating the output of the disturbance observer with state-feedback control law, such that, the closed-loop system can be guaranteed to be stochastically stable, and different types of disturbances can be attenuated and rejected. By constructing a proper stochastic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, sufficient conditions for the existence of the desired observer and the state-feedback controller are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be readily solved by standard numerical software. Finally, a numerical example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Purpose - A fast algorithm is proposed to calculate the lightning electromagnetic field over a perfectly conducting earth surface. Design/methodology/approach - The channel base current is approximated by a number of sub-domain quadratic functions using the proposed adaptive sampling technique, and the derivative and integral of the channel base current with respect to time can be analytically expressed. With the help of these approximations, the ideal electromagnetic field of the lightning channel can be evaluated along the lightning channel with respect to the height. Findings - The computational time can be greatly reduced using the proposed approach to evaluate the electromagnetic field of a lightning channel in the time domain. Originality/value - The adaptive sampling technique is a general-purposed approach, which can be potentially used in other applications to fit a function with the minimal number of intervals. © Emerald Group Publishing Limited.

The secondary reheat steam temperature system was designed and researched for the double reheat power unit. A simulator adopting modular modelling is chosen as the research platform to construct an ultra-supercritical double reheat unit. According to the analysis of the double reheat thermal system, the double reheat steam temperature control system is designed. The main control approach is surface type attemperator, which adopts cascade control loop and affiliates with spray type attemperator. After adding mathematical model of the second reheat steam temperature system into LN algorithm library, the system model is set up. According to the simulation results, the feasibility, advantages, and disadvantages of the surface type attemperator control is analyzed.
