Predicting preeclampsia in early pregnancy using clinical and laboratory data via machine learning model

Background: This study was performed to characterize the relationship of various laboratory test indicators with clinical information and Preeclampsia (PE) development. Then, prediction models for early-onset preeclampsia (EOPE), late-onset preeclampsia (LOPE), and preterm preeclampsia (Preterm PE) were developed using maternal characteristics and laboratory data. Methods: Between January 2019 and December 2021, we retrospectively recruited 144 EOPE, 363 LOPE, 231 Preterm PE, and 1458 healthy participants from six hospitals. We utilized all available clinical and laboratory data obtained during routine prenatal visits in early pregnancy. The models for EOPE, LOPE, and Preterm PE were created using ensemble machine learning models with patient clinical and laboratory data. Results: By comparing laboratory variables between PE patients and healthy controls, we identified 7, 18, 8, 15, 7,29 laboratory markers for EOPE, LOPE, and Preterm PE, severe PE, superimposed PE, first-time PE respectively. The ensemble EOPE and LOPE models incorporating clinical and laboratory predictors outperformed the clinical factor models respectively. The ensemble EOPE model demonstrated good sensitivity (72.22%,95% confidence interval [CI]: 57.59%-86.85%) and specificity (85.25%,95% CI: 80.54%-89.97%) in distinguishing EOPE from controls in early pregnancy. Similarly, the ensemble LOPE model showed good accuracy in differentiating LOPE from healthy participants (sensitivity: 69.57%, 95% CI: 56.27%-82.86%;specificity: 85.25%, 95% CI: 80.54%-89.97%). The prediction scores demonstrated notable positive correlations with blood pressure at admission, while they showed inverse correlations with 24-hour urine protein levels and fetal growth restriction among PE patients. In conclusion, our study identified key laboratory indicators for forecasting PE. The PS-rough set adds the dynamic characteristics of the elements moving in and moving out of the set, and introduces it into the three-way concept learning, and establishes the dynamic three-way concept learning model based on the PS-rough set. Firstly, the related definitions of dynamic three-way concept learning are introduced, and the calculation method of conditional probability function is given. Secondly, the related dynamic characteristics of the dynamic three-way concept learning model are proposed and proved, and the dynamic three-way concept learning algorithm is given, and the validity of the algorithm are verified by an example. Finally, the dynamic three-way concept learning model solves the dynamic change problem of the sample subset, reduces the computation of the probability of the condition, and gives a simple three-way concept division method. © 2020 Institute of Physics Publishing. Within the basis light-front quantization framework, we compute the masses and light-front wave functions of the Λb baryon and its isospin triplet counterparts Σ+b , Σ0b, and Σ−b using a light-front effective Hamiltonian in the leading Fock sector. These wave functions are obtained as eigenstates of the effective Hamiltonian, which incorporates the one-gluon exchange interaction with fixed coupling and a three-dimensional confinement potential. With the quark masses and the couplings as adjustable parameters, the computed masses are set within the experimental range. The resulting predictions for their electromagnetic properties align well with other theoretical calculations. Additionally, the parton distribution functions (PDFs) of these baryons are obtained for the first time, with gluon and sea quark distributions dynamically generated through QCD evolution of the valence quark PDFs. © 2025, CC BY.

In the present paper, quantum coherence of fermionic Gaussian states is investigated from the point of quantum resource theory. Some characterizations of m-mode (m≥1) incoherent fermionic Gaussian states and incoherent fermionic Gaussian channels are obtained, two quantification measures of fermionic Gaussian quantum coherence based on respectively the relative entropy and the Hellinger distance are proposed, and some formulas to calculate the value of these measures are established. It is shown that the m-mode fermionic Gaussian coherence is a quantum resource. © 2025 The Authors

Higher manganese silicide(HMS)is a P-type medium temperature thermoelectric(TE)material,which has attracted widespread attention over the past few decades due to its remarkable mechanical properties,excellent chemical and thermal stability,as well as the non-toxicity,abundance and competitive *** peak power factor(PF)of HMS is as high as~1.50×10^(-3)W m^(-1)K^(-2)because of its intrinsic high electrical conductivity and Seebeck ***,the thermal conductivity of HMS is also high,resulting in relatively low z T *** nano-dispersion in the matrix is one of the most effective methods to enhance the TE properties via reducing the lattice thermal conductivity significantly without drastic changes on the other *** this study,Cs Pb BrQDs with uniform size were synthesized and introduced into HMS *** PF(at 823 K)was enhanced to 1.71×10^(-3)W m^(-1)K^(-2),which is improved 14.0%approximately compared with that of pure HMS owing to the combined effect of element doping and energy *** lattice thermal conductivity(at 823 K)decreased from 2.56W mKto 1.99 W mKsynchronously(~22.0%)due to the intensive phonon scattering caused by Cs doping,and the embedding of Pb riched CsPbBr_(3)QDs and Pb QDs.A maximum z T value of 0.57(823 K)is achieved in Cs Pb BrQDs/HMS composites,which is 36.0%higher than that of pure ***,for other TE materials,it is also feasible to improve the TE properties via introducing metastable quantum dots.

Hot spot temperature optimization of micro-channel heat sinks enabled by designing vortex generators and realizing optimal flow pattern

Reduction of hot spot temperature is critical for electronic devices under high heat flux conditions. Micro-channel heat sinks (MCHSs) are commonly used in electronic cooling, with vortex generators introduced to enhance the heat transfer. However, existing convective heat transfer optimization equations are not consistent with the aim of hot spot temperature minimization, which are not efficient for design of vortex generators in MCHSs. To address this issue, the optimization equations with minimizing the hot spot temperature of MCHSs are developed, and a novel method is proposed to efficiently design vortex generators in MCHSs. The heat convection optimization equations aiming at hot spot temperature minimization of MCHSs under fixed power consumption are derived using variational method. The equations enable us to achieve the optimal flow field that guarantees a lower hot spot temperature than those obtained based on equations that aim at entropy generation minimization or entransy dissipation extremum in previous studies. The results reveal that the mechanism of hot spot temperature minimization in the rectangular channel is to induce four longitudinal vortices at the cross-section with specific rotations that drive more fluid to the heating surface. Furthermore, vortex generators composed of the inclined triangular-prism ribs and plates are inserted into the channel, which successfully constructs the optimal flow patterns matching the derived optimization equations. The generated similar longitudinal vortices are evidenced by numerical results. With mass flow rate at 0.1 g/s, the hot spot temperature of the MCHSs with the designed vortex generators is reduced by 32.7 K, and the maximum temperature rising decreases by 48 %, and the performance evaluation criterion increases by 60 % when compared to the channel without vortex generators.
