For a significant period in the future, vehicles with different levels of automation will share road resources, with connected vehicles capable of traveling in closely spaced platoons. In this study, a mixed traffic flow model considering connected vehicle platooning is proposed based on a Markov chain model. With numerical experiments, the effects of vehicle penetration rate and maximum platoon size on fundamental diagrams and lane capacity are investigated. The results indicate that the increasement of penetration rate of connected vehicles can significantly promote the capacity. In addition, there is a threshold value for the maximum platoon size. When the maximum platoon size is smaller than the threshold value, lane capacity will increase with the increasement of maximum platoon size. While if the maximum platoon size is larger than the threshold value, the capacity will decrease as the increase of the maximum platoon size. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2025.

The Earth's climate operates as a complex,dynamically interconnected system,driven by both anthropogenic and natural forcings and modulated by nonlinear interactions and feedback *** study employs a theoretical framework and the Eigen Microstate(EM)approach of statistical physics to examine global surface temperature variations since 1948,as revealed by a global *** identified EMs significantly correlated with key climate phenomena such as the global monsoon system,tropical climates,and El Niñ*** analysis reveals that these EMs have increasingly influenced global surface temperature variations over recent decades,highlighting the critical roles of hemispheric differences,land-sea contrasts,and tropical climate fluctuations in a warming ***,we used model simulations from more than 10 Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6)under three future climate scenarios to perform a comparative analysis of the changes in each EM *** results indicate that under future warming scenarios,tropical climate fluctuations will become increasingly dominant,while traditional hemispheric and monsoonal patterns may *** shift underscores the importance of understanding tropical dynamics and their impact on global climate from a physics-based *** study provides a new perspective on understanding and addressing global climate change,enhancing the theoretical foundation of this critical field,and yielding findings with significant practical implications for improving climate models and developing effective mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Harmful macroalgal blooms caused by Ulva prolifera and Sargassum horneri are increasing in the Yellow Sea and East China ***,our understanding of macroalgal blooms before 2008 is fragmented and *** time-series Landsat imagery from 1984 to 2008,we examined macroalgal bloom events and their evolutionary *** results suggest that no macroalgal blooms were observed before *** blooms could be traced back to 1999 and occurred on a small scale in 2000,2004 and 2005,before escalating into large green tides in 2007 and ***,these Ulva blooms were confined to the southern Yellow Sea from May to *** comparison,Sargassum blooms were first detected in the East China Sea in March 2000 and occurred almost every year thereafter,although the size of the blooms showed significant interannual *** distribution areas generally moved northwards from March until the bloom dissipated in May or June,suggesting the influence of the monsoon and *** investigation provided some insight into the bloom history of these two harmful macroalgal blooms in the Yellow Sea and East China Sea.

Equilibrium and non-equilibrium preparation of Zr-based oxide ceramic layers via in-situ synthesis on ZrNb alloy surfaces

To develop ZrNb alloys with excellent surface properties, phase composition, microstructure evolution, and friction and wear properties of Zr oxide ceramic layers prepared by equilibrium and non-equilibrium techniques were investigated. Non-oxidized samples prepared with same heat treatment process were used as control group. Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-photoelectron spectroscopy were employed to further investigate and establish relationships between processing, structure, and properties. There was apparent oxygen-rich diffusion zone between in-situ synthesized Zr-based oxide ceramic layer and ZrNb substrate. High residual stress, fine-grained microstructure due to insufficient growth, and high diffusion rate of elements near oxide/metal interface at 1000 °C resulted in high content of t-ZrO2 in non-equilibrium aqueous oxidation sample. Furthermore, the composition of equilibrium thermal oxidation samples was dominated by m-ZrO2, exhibiting the highest nano-hardness (>14 GPa) and the lowest wear rate (3.40 × 10−8 mm3/N·m). Friction and wear behavior of samples under different surface conditions was investigated. Lastly, stability mechanism of metastable oxide phases and growth mechanism of Zr-based oxides were analyzed and discussed in depth. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

Dynamic updating approximations of local multigranulation neighborhood covering rough sets

The lower and upper approximations in rough set theory are important for dealing with uncertain knowledge. The covering rough set is an important part of the rough set theory and is suitable for dealing with numerical data. With the development of information technology, the information is constantly updated and changed in various information systems, and it is crucial to efficiently obtain the lower and upper approximations in dynamic environments. In this paper, the matrix-based methods for updating the approximate operators of local multigranulation neighborhood covering rough sets when objects are added or deleted are mainly investigated. Firstly, the local multigranulation neighborhood covering rough set model is introduced. Then, we analyze the relationships between the prior matrices and the updating matrices when objects change. Meanwhile, the dynamic updating processes for lower and upper approximations are proposed. The time complexity analyses of algorithms theoretically prove the efficiency of dynamic algorithms compared with static ones. To illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed dynamic algorithms, six datasets from the UCI are employed for comparative experiments.

Elucidating the anti-obesity phytochemicals in Chenpi and their molecular mechanisms

Obesity has become a significant global public health *** studies have found that the Chenpi has the anti-obesity ***,the anti-obesity phytochemicals and their mechanisms are still *** study investigated the anti-obesity phytochemicals and molecular mechanisms involved in treating obesity by Chenpi through network pharmacology and molecular docking.A total of 17 bioactive phytochemicals from Chenpi and its 475 related anti-obesity targets have been *** KEGG pathway analysis showed that the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway,MAPK signaling pathway,AMPK signaling pathway,and nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathway are the main signaling pathways involved in the anti-obesity effect of *** to molecular docking analysis,the phytochemicals of Chenpi can bind to central anti-obesity *** on the ADMET analysis and network pharmacology results,tangeretin exhibited the lowest predicted toxicity and potential for anti-obesity *** the in vitro lipid accumulation model,tangeretin effectively suppressed the free fatty acid-induced lipid in Hep G2 cells by upregulating the PI3K/Akt/GSK3βsignaling pathway based on the result of q-PCR and Western *** outcomes of this research give insights for future research on the anti-obesity phytochemicals and molecular mechanisms derived from Chenpi,also providing the theoretical basis for developing anti-obesity functional foods based on Chenpi.

An Enhanced Multi-Scale Collaborative Learning Network for Medical Image Segmentation in Internet of Medical Things

Multi-organ segmentation in the abdomen is a key area in medical image segmentation and is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The diversity of abdominal organs, differences in size, and ambiguous boundaries pose significant challenges to segmentation tasks, making it difficult for existing models to meet clinical demands in complex scenarios. To address this, this paper proposes a Multi-Scale Collaborative Learning Network (MSCL-Net) in conjunction with a medical Internet of Things (IoMT) platform, aiming to enhance the accuracy of abdominal organ segmentation. The introduction of IoMT technology dramatically expands the channels for obtaining medical image data. By collecting massive amounts of data in real-time from various scenarios, such as outpatient clinics and hospitals, doctors can quickly use the segmentation model to obtain preliminary segmentation results of CT images, which specialists can rapidly correct. This workflow improves clinical work efficiency and provides a large volume of highquality data for training the model, further enhancing its accuracy. Regarding model design, the Feature Space Module is used for global feature extraction, the Feature Extraction Module captures local semantic information at different scales, and the Feature Aggregation Module performs deep integration of local and global information. A considerable number of experimental results based on the Synapse dataset demonstrate that MSCL-Net outperforms existing advanced algorithms and achieves 81.71% in the Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) and 17.81 in the Hausdorff Distance at 95% (HD95) metrics, demonstrating its outstanding ability in medical image segmentation. © 2014 IEEE.
