We revisit the DD* interactions in chiral effective field theory up to the third order for the first time. We deal with the pion-exchanged interactions via local momentum-space regularization, in which we focus on their long-range behaviors through demanding their contributions vanish at the origin in the coordinate space. The short-range contact interactions and subleading pion-charmed meson couplings are estimated with the phenomenological resonance saturation model. The subleading pion-charmed meson couplings are much weaker than those in the pion-nucleon system, thus the DD* binding mechanism is very different with that of the NN system. We also obtain the analytic structure of the two-pion exchange interactions in the coordinate space, and we find that its asymptotic behavior at long distance is similar to but slightly different than the NN interactions. We get the same asymptotic behavior of the two-pion exchange interaction with that from the HAL QCD method, but appearing in the longer distance rather than 1

The holographic state of matter and its implications for quantum gravity

The holographic state of matter exists in the quantum gravitational regime, with black holes as the example. In this essay, we provide a microscopic derivation to the holographic thermodynamics and further discuss its implications for quantum gravity. Especially, we establish the link between holographic entropy and dimensional reduction. It seems that the fundamental physics behind black holes and the very early universe is 1 + 1 dimensional. Three singlet new Higgs superfields and right-handed neutrinos are added to MSSM to obtain U(1)XSSM model. Its local gauge group is SU(3)C×SU(2)L×U(1)Y×U(1)X. In the framework of U(1)XSSM, we study muon anomalous magnetic moment and lepton flavor violating decays lj→ liγ(j = 2, 3;i = 1, 2) within the Mass Insertion Approximation(MIA). Through the MIA method, we can find the parameters that directly affect the analytical result of the lepton flavor violating decays lj→ liγ, which make our work more convenient. We want to provide a set of simple analytic formulas for the form factors and the associated effective vertices, that may be very useful for future phenomenological studies of the lepton flavor violating decays. According to the accuracy of the numerical results which the influence of different sensitive parameters, we come to the conclusion that the non-diagonal elements which correspond to the generations of the initial lepton and final lepton are main sensitive parameters and lepton flavor violation(LFV) sources. As the U(1) extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, the U(1)XSSM has new super fields such as right-handed neutrinos and three Higgs singlets. In the U(1)XSSM, the lightest CP-even Higgs mass mh0is researched through the Higgs effective potential with one loop corrections. We also calculate the Higgs decays h0→ γγ , h0→ V V ( V = W, Z), h0→ ll¯Z and h0→ νν¯Z. The obtained results are reasonable, which are in favour of the study of the Higgs characteristic and the phenomenology of the U(1)XSSM. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Based on the instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter equation method, we calculate the average values |q̅|n ≡ qn and speed powers |v̅|n ≡ vn (n = 1, 2, 3, 4) of a heavy quark inside S wave and P wave heavy-light mesons, where q̅ and v̅ are the three dimensional momentum and velocity of the heavy quark, respectively. We obtain the kinetic energy µ2π = 0.455 GeV2 for the B meson, which is consistent with the experimental result 0.464 ± 0.076 GeV2. For the Bs, D and Ds mesons, the µ2π are 0.530 GeV2, 0.317 GeV2 and 0.369 GeV2, respectively. And v2 = 0.0185, 0.0215, 0.121, and 0.140 for B, Bs, D, and Ds. We obtain some relationships, for example, q0n− (mS) ≈ q1n− (mS), q0n+ (mP) ≈ q1n+′ (mP ′) > q1n+ (mP) ≈ q2n+ (mP), and qn(mS) n(mP) (m = 1, 2, 3), etc. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Very recently, the LHCb Collaboration reported the first observation of the hidden-charm pentaquark with strangeness, PψsΛ(4338)0. Considering this state is very close to the Ξc0D¯0 and Ξc+D− thresholds, we explore the possible bias of the Breit-Wigner parametrization, with emphasis on the effect of its coupling to the double thresholds Ξc0D¯0 and Ξc+D−. We first use a qualitative picture based on the “uniformization” of the Riemann surface of the two-channel system to understand the positions of the enhancement. Then we use the Lippmann-Schwinger equation formalism (equivalent to the K-matrix parametrization) with two models, the zero-range model and the Flatté model to investigate the J/ψΛ line shapes. Our results show that the nominal peak of the PψsΛ(4338)0 could arise either from the pole well above the Ξc+D− threshold on the (−,+) sheet or from the pole well below the Ξc0D¯0 threshold on the (−,−) sheet in the two-channel system. Using the Breit-Wigner distribution to depict the above two line shapes could be misleading. We also find a novel type of line shapes with the enhancement constrained by the threshold difference. We urge the LHCb Collaboration to perform the refined experimental analysis considering the unitarity and analyticity, e.g., using the K-matrix parametrization. As a by-product, we obtain that the ratio of the isospin violating decay ΓPψsΛ→J/ψΣ/ΓPψsΛ→J/ψΛ could be up to 10%.

The new charmed resonance D2*(3000) was observed by the LHCb Collaboration in B decays. In this paper, by assigning it as four possible excited states of the 2+ family, we use the instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter method to calculate their Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka-allowed two-body strong decays. The results of 13F2 and 33P2 states deviate from the present experimental observation while 23P2 and 23F2 are in the error range. Our study also reveals that the widths of these states depend strongly on the masses. Due to the large uncertainties and different mass input, variable models get inconsistent conclusions at the moment. The analysis in this work can provide essential assistance for future measurements and investigations.

It has been known for many years that the leading correction to the black hole entropy is a logarithmic term, which is universal and closely related to conformal anomaly. A fully consistent analysis of this issue has to take quantum backreactions to the black hole geometry into account. However, it was always unclear how to naturally derive the modified black hole metric, especially from an effective action, because the problem refers to the elusive nonlocality of quantum gravity. In this paper, we show that this problem can be resolved within an effective field theory (EFT) framework of quantum gravity. Our work suggests that the EFT approach provides a powerful and self-consistent tool for studying the quantum gravitational corrections to black hole geometries and thermodynamics.

Octet baryon and heavy meson interactions in chiral effective field theory

We calculate the effective potentials of the octet baryon and heavy meson systems using the chiral effective field theory up to the next-to-leading order. We consider the contact terms, one-pseudoscalar-meson and two-pseudoscalar-meson exchange contributions, facilitating a comprehensive analysis of the short-, mid-, and long-range interactions in these systems. The low energy constants are correlated with those of the N¯N interaction using a quark-level Lagrangian approach. We also incorporate the decuplet baryon contributions in the loop diagrams. Our research provides new insights into several near-threshold charmed baryons [e.g., Λc(2940), Ξc(3055), and Ωc(3188), etc.] around 3 GeV from the hadronic molecular perspective. We also observe several molecular states, referred to as Ξc, within the mass range of 3100 − 3500 MeV. Further measurements of their resonance parameters and decay patterns in experiments may help to discriminate the conventional baryon and hadronic molecule explanations for these near-threshold states. We propose a type of k-inflation under the Hamilton-Jacobi approach. We calculate various observables such as the scalar power spectrum, the tensor-to-scalar ratio, the scalar spectra index for the case where the Hubble parameter is a power-law function of k-field. The model’s parameters are constrained with Planck data and the concrete form of the potential is presented.
