Realization of zero skyrmion Hall angle by elongating skyrmions

Magnetic skyrmions are considered to be potential information carriers in racetrack memory. However, the skyrmion Hall effect limits the maximum speed of skyrmions along the current direction, which hampers their further application. Here, we investigate the fundamental properties of an elongated skyrmion induced by an anisotropic Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI). Spin-orbit torque-driven dynamics of the elongated skyrmion under various conditions, including anisotropic DMI, Gilbert damping, and current, are also performed by a combination of micromagnetic simulations and solutions of the Thiele equation. It is found that elongated skyrmions can realize a zero skyrmion Hall angle, and the gradient of Gilbert damping is an effective method to significantly control the skyrmion Hall angle. It should be noted that the rotational symmetry breaking of the elongated skyrmions results in lower thermal stability than the circular skyrmions. Our results offer the possibility of zero skyrmion Hall angle motion, which may help guide the potential application of elongated skyrmions in racetrack memory.

This study investigates the excesses observed in the CMS diphoton and ditau data around $$95~{\textrm{GeV}}$$ within the framework of the flavor-dependent $$U(1)_X$$ model. The model introduces a singlet scalar to explain the nonzero neutrino masses. This newly introduced Higgs interacts directly with the quark sector, motivated by the aim to explain the flavor numbers of the fermion sector. Additionally, it undergoes mixing with the SM-like Higgs boson. The study suggests that designating this singlet Higgs state in this model as the lightest Higgs boson holds great potential for explaining the excesses around $$95~{\textrm{GeV}}.$$ In the calculations, we maintained the masses of the lightest and next-to-lightest Higgs bosons at around $$95~{\textrm{GeV}}$$ and $$125~{\textrm{GeV}}$$ respectively. It was found that the theoretical predictions on the signal strengthes $$\mu (h_{95})_{\gamma \gamma },$$ $$\mu (h_{95})_{\tau \tau }$$ in the flavor-dependent $$U(1)_X$$ model can be fitted well to the excesses observed at CMS.

We present a detailed analysis of the Higgs boson decays $$h\rightarrow Z \gamma $$ and $$h\rightarrow m_V Z$$ in the $$U(1)_X$$ SSM, with $$m_V$$ denoting one of the mesons ( $$\omega ,\rho ,\phi ,J/{\psi },\Upsilon $$ ). Using the effective Lagrangian method, we calculate the effective constants $$C_{\gamma Z}$$ (CP-even) and $${\tilde{C}}_{\gamma Z}$$ (CP-odd) for the vertex $$h \gamma Z$$ , which are corrected by the new particle loop diagrams. Numerically, the ratio $${\Gamma }_{U(1)_X}(h\rightarrow Z \gamma )/{\Gamma }_{SM}(h\rightarrow Z \gamma )$$ is between 1.02 and 1.35. For the vector mesons $$\omega ,\rho ,\phi $$ and $$J/{\psi }$$ , the ratios $${\Gamma }_{U(1)_X}(h\rightarrow m_V Z )/{\Gamma }_{SM}(h\rightarrow m_V Z)$$ are mainly distributed in the range of (1.01–1.45). When $$m_V$$ represents $$\Upsilon $$ , the ratio $${\Gamma }_{U(1)_X}(h\rightarrow \Upsilon Z )/{\Gamma }_{SM}(h\rightarrow \Upsilon Z)$$ is mostly located in the range of (1.002–1.30). The aim of this work is to provide a reference for probing the $$U(1)_X$$ SSM model via the Higgs decays $$h\rightarrow Z \gamma $$ and $$h\rightarrow m_V Z$$ .

Ferroelectricity can exist in elemental phases as a result of charge transfers between atoms occupying inequivalent Wyckoff positions. We investigate the emergence of ferroelectricity in two-dimensional elemental materials with buckled honeycomb lattices. Various multi-bilayer structures hosting ferroelectricity are designed by stacking-engineering. Ferroelectric materials candidates formed by group IV and V elements are predicted theoretically. Ultrathin Bi films show layer-stacking-dependent physical properties of ferroelectricity, topology, and metallicity. The two-bilayer Bi film with a polar stacking sequence is found to be an elemental topological ferroelectric material. Three and four bilayers Bi films with polar structures are ferroelectric-like elemental polar metals with topological nontrivial edge states. For Ge and Sn, trivial elemental polar metals are predicted. Our work reveals the possibility of design two-dimensional elemental topological ferroelectrics and polar metals by stacking-engineering. © 2023, CC BY.

In the framework of the minimal supersymmetric model extension with new scalar triplets and singlet (TNMSSM), we analyze the electric dipole moment (EDM) of neutron (dn), electron EDM(de), the mercury EDM(dHg), b quark (db) and c quark (dc) by considering the contributions from the one-loop diagrams, some two-loop diagrams and the Weinberg operators. The effects of TNMSSM specific CPV sources χd, χt on dn, de, dHg, db, dc are specialized, it is found that they have significant contributions to these EDMs, and the current upper bounds on dn impose strict constraints on χd, χt. The theoretical predictions on db, dc can reach about 10−22 e·cm and 10−23 e·cm respectively by taking the upper bounds on dn, de, dHg into account, which have great potential to be observed in future. © 2025, CC BY.

We have studied the impact of CP-violating (CPV) effects on electroweak baryogenesis (EWBG) and the electric dipole moment (EDM) of electron (de), the electric dipole moment (EDM) of mercury neutron (dn) and the electric dipole moment (EDM) of (dHg) in an extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). The model incorporating a SU(2) triplet with hyper-charges of ±1 and a gauge singlet from the standard model that is mutually coupled, is collectively referred to as the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model with triplets (TNMSSM). Furthermore, we discuss the strong first-order phase transition (PT) achieved by this model via tree-level effects. The numerical results indicate that the TNMSSM can account for the observed baryon asymmetry. Additionally, the regions favored by EWBG can be compatible with the corresponding electron EDM bounds when different contributions to the de cancel each other out. © 2025, CC BY.

The B-L symmetric SUSY model (B-LSSM) introduces a new $$Z'$$ gauge boson and two singlet scalars, which indicates there are more neutralinos in the B-LSSM comparing with the minimal SUSY extension of standard model (MSSM). These new neutralinos provide more dark matter (DM) candidates in the B-LSSM, we find that the super partner of the new scalar singlet can serve as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) and be considered as a DM candidate. The properties of this new DM candidate are analyzed in this work. Taking into account the experimental constraints on Higgs boson mass, B meson rare decays and muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment, the numerical results are obtained and presented. The properties of new DM candidate in the B-LSSM satisfy the observed relic density $$\Omega h^2$$ and comply with the latest upper bounds on $$\sigma _\textrm{SI}^{\chi _1^0-n}$$ , and its mass is expected to greater than $$80\;\textrm{GeV}$$ approximately.

We introduce four supersymmetric (SUSY) axion models in which the strong CP problem and the µ problem are solved with the help of the Peccei-Quinn mechanism and the Kim-Nilles mechanism, respectively. The axion physics enriches the SUSY model by introducing axion as a dark matter candidate and, therefore, the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) could just be a part of the total dark matter. For this reason, axion relieves the tensions between SUSY models and numerous experimental measurements, such as the dark matter direct detection experiments and the precise measurements of anomalous magnetic moment of the muon aµ. In the present paper, we investigate the constraints imposed by the latest aµ measurements and LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment on the relic density of the Higgsino-like LSP. Additionally, we consider the constraints arising from the cosmology of saxions and axinos, and their impacts on the parameter space of our models are carefully examined. For the axion constituting the remaining portion of dark matter, we find that the conventional misalignment mechanism can successfully account for the correct dark matter relic density observed by the Planck satellite. © 2023, CC BY.

Charged lepton flavor violation (CLFV) represents a clear new physics (NP) signal beyond the standard model (SM). In this work, we investigate CLFV processes lj− → li−γ utilizing mass insertion approximation(MIA) in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the SM with local B-L gauge symmetry (B-LSSM). The MIA method can provide a set of simple analytic formulae for the form factors and the associated effective vertices, so that the movement of the CLFV decays lj− → li−γ with the sensitive parameters will be intuitively analyzed. Considering the SM-like Higgs boson mass and the muon anomalous dipole moment (MDM) within 4σ, 3σ and 2σ regions, we discuss the corresponding constraints on the relevant parameter space of the model.
