Aiming at the shortcomings of data transmission and locating method in high altitude meteorological detection system, combined with technology needs of high altitude meteorological detection, a high altitude meteorological detection system has been described which is based on GPRS/GPS, a method of meteorological data transfer and storage has been discussed, the relevant ground and aloft testing experiments have been carried out, and the experimental data have been analyzed and processed by Matlab. The system uses STC12 series single chip as terminal system, after analysising and processing of GPS and meteorological data that collected by system through the terminal system, return to the ground monitoring center through the GPRS, and the ground monitoring center completed data storage, data curve analysis and processing, etc. Experiments show that, compared with high altitude meteorological detection system based on the l-band, the system has characteristics as high speed of data transmission, high efficiency and reliability, the data does not have lost, low cost of equipments. The meteorological data transfer and storage method is effective to solve the low GPRS signal quality caused by too high work height, thus lead to the problem of data leak and misinformed.
