The integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into edge devices such as smartphones represents a significant leap in mobile technology, promising enhanced user experiences and novel functionalities. This paper presents a first look at LLM-powered smartphones, addressing four key aspects: the current market landscape, core functions enabled by integrated LLMs, potential security risks, and user perceptions. The findings reveal a rapidly evolving market with major manufacturers competing to integrate LLMs, innovative features that improve user interaction, significant security challenges, and mixed user perceptions that balance enthusiasm for new capabilities with privacy concerns. This study contributes to understanding LLM integration in mobile devices and its implications for users, manufacturers, and the broader technological landscape.

In recent years, research has illuminated the potency of implicit data processing in enhancing user preferences. Nevertheless, barriers remain in breaking through the constraints of implicit information. This study aims to bridge this gap by firstly constructing a triangular stable node network model, tailored to manage implicit information with precision. Recognizing the challenge of pinpointing novel structures within large-scale graphs, we propose SLTSNN-a triangular stable node network based on self-supervised learning for personalized prediction. SLTSNN innovates by maximizing mutual information between graph-level and patch-level representations, while augmenting graph representations through extended enhanced representations. Additionally, it incorporates triangular data associations and introduces a triangular allocation attention network, which emphasizes strongly correlated preference features among similar users. Furthermore, SLTSNN employs contrastive learning to maximize mutual information between graph vectors and hidden representations, distinguishing between high-order global and local representations. The model's effectiveness in enhancing user preferences and capturing new graph structures is evidenced by its performance on hit rate and normalized discounted cumulative gain metrics across three datasets. © 2025 IEEE.

Effect of Sitophilus Zeamais Infestation on Lipid Oxidation And Volatile Organic Compounds In Postharvest Wheat Grain

The hidden pest Sitophilus zeamais presents serious risk to grain quality during postharvest storage. In this study, we aimed to explore the effect of S. zeamais infestation on lipid metabolism in wheat infested with S. zeamais eggs (4 d), larvae (20 d), pupae (35 d), and adults (45 d). The lipid oxidation enzymes activities of S. zeamais–infested wheat increased, and fatty acid composition was significantly altered. Further, 91 VOCs were identified in all wheat samples;then, multivariate statistical analyses categorized these samples into four groups. Moreover, 31, 26, and 45 VOCs were identified to distinguish uninfested wheat from other three groups, respectively. These results demonstrated that S. zeamais infestation induces elevation in lipid-related enzymatic activities, which leads to decrease in lipid content alongside production of specific VOCs (1-octanol,2-butyl-, geraniol, and 2-nonenal). These findings provide an innovative approach for identifying and monitoring grains infested by hidden pests during storage. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Given the critical role of rotating machinery in industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPS), ensuring their reliable operation is essential for the stability and safety of ICPS. Deep neural networks have demonstrated competitive results for intelligent fault diagnosis, which are usually trained via the historical data of all fault modes. However, in real engineering, it is usually difficult to collect samples and exhaust all failures during the training stage. As a result, out-of-distribution fault diagnosis (OOD-FD) becomes a more realistic problem that requires the methods to not only accurately diagnose the known faults, but also effectively recognize unknown ones. Therefore, a novel orthogonal anchor clustering with focal attention (FA-OAC) is proposed in this paper for OOD-FD. Firstly, an orthogonal anchor clustering (OAC) algorithm is proposed to fix the class center of each fault mode orthogonally and distinguish the known and unknown faults at the class level. Then, because the identifiability of different fault modes changes a lot in OOD-FD, the focal attention mechanism is applied to dynamically adjust the attention to different fault modes according to the distance loss of OAC, thus addressing the identifiability imbalance problem. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, different OOD-FD tasks are designed based on two rotating machinery datasets. The experimental results and comparison with state-of-the-art fault diagnosis methods have demonstrated that the proposed method has improved the OOD-FD performance greatly and therefore provides an effective tool in real engineering. © 2023 IEEE.

Tea Tree Oil Microcapsules Inhibit Germination and Improve Postharvest Potato Tuber Quality

Potato tubers can sprout during postharvest storage, leading to quality deterioration and a loss in commodity quality. In this study, we prepared microcapsules containing tea tree essential oil (TTO) using an ion gel method, aiming to inhibit sprout growth. Scanning electron microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the successful encapsulation of TTO in chitosan microcapsules, enhancing its thermal stability. The resulted TTO microcapsules exhibited a favourable slow-release effect, and have a better effect on inhibiting potato tuber germination, delaying the decrease of potato tuber hardness and increasing the weight loss rate, compared with TTO fumigation treatment. Moreover, the microcapsules inhibited the synthesis of gibberellic acid (GA3) and indole acetic acid (IAA) while delaying the decline in abscisic acid (ABA) content, ABA/IAA, and ABA/GA3 levels, ultimately leading to the inhibition of potato tuber germination. Potato tubers treated with TTO microcapsules displayed higher activities of superoxide dismutase, ascorbate peroxidase, and polyphenol oxidase, as well as increased contents of dry matter, starch, reducing sugars, and soluble proteins compared to untreated control tubers. Microcapsule treatment effectively suppressed the increase in total phenol content and the decrease in vitamin C content in potato tubers. After 30 d of storage, the α-solanine content was 56.97% lower in the microcapsule-treated group than in the control group. In summary, TTO microcapsule fumigation treatment effectively inhibits sprouting and prevents nutritional quality loss in postharvest potato tubers. These study results provide a theoretical and scientific foundation for the "green" storage of potato tubers using TTO microcapsules. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Image-text matching is an important problem at the intersection of computer vision and natural language processing. It aims to establish the semantic link between image and text to achieve high-quality semantic alignment between the two modalities. However, the existing methods have the problem that the meaning expressed in the image or the complex narrative in the text cannot be fully understood due to insufficient feature extraction. Moreover, due to the essential modal differences between images and texts, how to effectively and accurately align the semantic contents in images and texts has become the key of research. In order to solve the above problems, this paper proposes a method based on feature enhancement and relationship interaction. When processing images, the proposed method fuses labeled features, region features and location features to represent images. When processing text, a combination of Bi-GRU and self-attention mechanism is used to represent the text. In order to further align the semantic content in images and texts accurately, this paper improves two relational interaction mechanisms by identifying connection relationships and learning association relationships. Thus, the relation enhanced embedding is obtained. Finally, it calculated the similarity of the enhanced embedding to judge the matching degree of the image and text. Extensive experiments on the public datasets Flickr30K and MSCOCO demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. © 2024 IEEE.

In light of recent advancements in Internet of Multimedia Things (IoMT) and 5G technology, both the variety and quantity of data have been rapidly increasing. Consequently, handling zero-shot cross-modal retrieval (ZSCMR) of unlabeled multi-modal data has emerged as a prominent research topic. Early models utilized generative adversarial networks and class embeddings to assist in building a common feature space. However, this approach resulted in a loss of reliability in the feature distributions of individual modalities. In this paper, we propose a method called Ranking on Heterogeneous Manifold (RHM) to address the aforementioned issue. Our model comprises three feature extractors, each dedicated to extracting features from text, images and multimodal data. Subsequently, the relationship structures derived from these feature extractors are employed to construct a heterogeneous manifold. A diffusion process is then conducted on this heterogeneous manifold, ultimately yielding the final ranking scores. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed modal has the capability to acquire more effective knowledge representation, thus enhancing the effectiveness of ZSCMR. © 2023 IEEE.

Chinese short text similarity computation stands as a pivotal task within natural language processing, garnering significant attention. However, existing models grapple with limitations in handling intricate semantic relationships, such as the challenge of discerning subtle semantic nuances in text, inadequacies in effectively integrating diverse levels of semantic information, and the struggle to capture polysemous meanings accurately. In addressing these issues, this paper introduces an innovative Chinese short text similarity computation model, SMGC-SBERT. This model addresses shortcomings of the existing models by employing a multi-module fusion strategy, thereby enabling a more precise measurement of semantic similarity between texts. Primarily, the model incorporates SAT embedding to acquire phrase-level semantic information and leverages the MS-BERT model to encode text, improving the model's comprehension of textual polysemy and obtaining richer semantic representation. Then, the fusion of module features, including multi-branch convolutional networks and mix pooling, enables the extraction of textual features from varied levels, bolstering the model's representational capacity. Additionally, to further reduce overfitting risks while improving accuracy and other performance, a multi-layer feature adjustment network is utilized for short text similarity calculation. The final resultant experimental findings showcase the superiority of the SMGC-SBERT model over other neural network models, demonstrating significant advancements across both Chinese-SNLI and CCKS2018_Task3 Chinese short text datasets. © 2024 IEEE.
