Continuous phase modulation (CPM) has extensive applications in wireless communications due to its high spectral and power efficiency. However, its nonlinear characteristics pose significant challenges for detection in frequency selective fading channels. This paper proposes an iterative receiver tailored for the detection of CPM signals over frequency selective fading channels. This design leverages the factor graph framework to integrate equalization, demodulation, and decoding functions. The equalizer employs the unitary approximate message passing (UAMP) algorithm, while the unitary transformation is implemented using the fast Fourier transform (FFT) with the aid of a cyclic prefix (CP), thereby achieving low computational complexity while with high performance. For CPM demodulation and channel decoding, with belief propagation (BP), we design a message passing-based maximum a posteriori (MAP) algorithm, and the message exchange between the demodulator, decoder and equalizer is elaborated. With proper message passing schedules, the receiver can achieve fast convergence. Simulation results show that compared with existing turbo receivers, the proposed receiver delivers significant performance enhancement with low computational complexity. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

grain inspection robots can detect abnormal information such as grain insects and impurities on the grain surface by deploying detection nodes, it has a significant for the safety of grain storage. Generally, the grey wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm has significant advantages such as fewer control parameters and easy implementation, is one of the commonly employed approaches aiming to solve the problem in many fields. However, the traditional GWO has the shortcomings such as poor population initialization diversity, slow convergence speed and easily fall into local optimal values, it is difficult to solve deployment of inspection nodes problem in the grain surface. In this study, an improved Latin Hypercube grey wolf optimization (LH-GWO) is presented to overcome the disadvantages of the traditional GWO algorithm in solving inspection node deployment problem. The LH-GWO algorithm contains two novel mechanisms which are the Latin Hypercube Sampling population initialization and an improved nonlinear convergence factor. Moreover, a grain surface boundary inspection nodes deployment strategy is proposed to optimize the location of nodes at the boundary. For verifying the effectiveness of the proposed LH-GWO, comparing with six commonly used algorithms based on benchmark functions experiment and coverage rate experiment. The experimental results demonstrate the merits of LH-GWO in terms of convergence speed, optimization accuracy and area coverage. Finally, the optimal inspection nodes are divided into three inspection regional areas by k-means algorithm clustering, and in each inspection regional area, the optimal inspection path of each robot is determined by solving the travel salesman problem (TSP). © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The levels of inter-user interference (IUI) usually vary due to the different geographical locations of users, but, most existing beam selection methods apply the same beam selection criteria for all users, which is detrimental to maintain an attractive trade-off between complexity and system performance. Considering the discrepancy of IUI comprehensively, a low complexity beam selection method for millimeter-wave massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems is proposed. Firstly, a candidate beam set (CBS) is constructed in light of the sparsity and power distribution of the beamspace channel, thereby all users are classified into non-interfering users (NIUs), low-interference users (LIUs) and high-interference users (HIUs). For NIUs, the beams with large power are selected from CBS under the magnitude maximization (MM) criterion;for LIUs, a novel MM criterion with a tabu list is designed, which can effectively tackle the drawback of assigning shared beams in traditional MM;for HIUs, the incremental algorithm based on the sum-rate maximization criterion is developed to find the optimal beams from CBS. Simulation results validate that the proposed method can achieve almost the same sum-rate performance as the existing methods with the lower computational complexity. © 2023 IEEE.

Class activation mapping (CAM) is a post-hoc explanation method for Convolutional neural networks (CNNs), aiming to visually explain the decision-making process of CNNs. CAM demonstrates superior categorical discrimination capabilities compared to visual explanation methods rooted in backpropagation and perturbation. Five CAM methods have been comprehensively analyzed and discussed, revealing their applications in explaining CNN decision-making. Additionally, the evaluation principles and metrics for CAM and other explainable methods are summarized. A comparative analysis highlights their characteristics, applicability, and inherent limitations. Finally, the challenges faced by CAM methods in the field of explainable research are explored, and future development trends are anticipated. © 2024 IEEE.

Temperature fluctuations significantly affect microorganism growth and pest activities in grain pile, precise monitoring and forecasting temperature of stored grain are essential for maintaining the quality and safety of grain storage. This paper proposes a multi-model fusion approach to predict grain temperature using historical temperature data of stored grain and meteorological data from the region. Firstly, four distinct machine learning models, namely Adaboost, decision tree, extra trees, and random forest, are fine-tuned through parameter optimization to enhance their predictive capabilities respectively; Subsequently, these optimized models are fused to form different ensemble models, which are compared for prediction accuracy to obtain the optimal fusion model. In essence, the fusion process integrates the predictions of each individual model as new feature inputs into the fusion models. Furthermore, random forest is utilized to identify the key factors influencing grain temperature, providing insights into the importance of different influencing factors. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed fusion models can achieve higher prediction accuracy and robustness compared with the single-model prediction methods. Additionally, the analysis of feature importance also offers empirical evidence for understanding the factors influencing grain temperature.

The detection of vital signs, especially respiratory rate and heartbeat rate, is of great significance for clinical diagnosis, daily health assessment and disaster rescue. In recent years, millimeter wave based non-contact vital sign detection has become a research hotspot. Aiming to overcome the noise influence of the target signal on the detection accuracy, one improved ICEEMDAN based on sample entropy (ICCEMDAN-SpEn) combined with wavelet threshold denoising is proposed. Firstly, the adaptive noise extraction ability of ICEEMDAN is analyzed to isolate all intrinsic mode function (IMF) components of the noisy target signals, and the sample entropy is introduced as the threshold to select the main IMFs; then wavelet threshold denoising is proposed to relieve the noise adaptively, which can better deal with the nonlinear and non-stationary signal; finally, IMFs after wavelet threshold denoising are reconstructed to attain target signals. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively relieve the noise contained in the vital sign signals and estimate the respiratory rate and heartbeat rate of human body accurately.

Conventional high-speed rotating machinery uses a contact structure to realize data transmission between rotating parts and fixed parts. Mechanical wear and vibration noise can interfere with the subsequent processing and fault diagnosis of vibration signals. This paper designs a contactless vibration signal transmission system for rotating machinery using laser sensing. It analyzes the non-coincidence error between the optical axis and the rotating axis, which causes the effective photosensitive area and practical power of the detector to change periodically with the frequency of the rotational speed, resulting in the vibration signal presenting various harmonics with the rotational speed angular frequency as the fundamental wave. A convenient time-frequency joint analysis method is proposed using fractional Fourier transform in time-frequency domain projection localization. Using mixed programming techniques of C# and Matlab, an upper computer interface for data storage, processing, network publishing, is developed to form a complete vibration signal processing system. © 2024, The Authors. News recommender system is an important method of helping readers identify interesting stories. Although human behaviors exhibit sequential patterns, most current studies on news recommendations ignore the influence of reading sequences. Leveraging sequential patterns in news recommendation is, however, very challenging, as the capture of reading behavior sequence at the individual level may be impossible due to severity of sparsity in the field of news. To address this challenge, we proposed a group-sequence-aware graph model (GSGM) to learn representative reading sequences of groups instead of individuals, where groups are viewed as latent variables and automatically learnt from users' reading behaviours. Besides, when readers select different groups, they are likely to have distinct reading preferences. This finding is used to learn group-dependent personal reading preferences in GSGM. A wide range of experiments are conducted to verify the efficiency and effectiveness of the GSGM on real datasets. Experimental results demonstrate that GSGM outperforms the state-of-the-art competing methods. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
