The popularity and deepening of social networks have increased the risk of personal information leakage for users. To enhance the security of social networks, this study constructed an access control model based on the preferences of social network users. This model utilizes graph neural networks to generate access control strategies based on user preferences, and introduces a multi-layer attention mechanism to optimize the graph neural network. To better capture user preference information, the study sets the learning rate to 0.0001. The experimental results demonstrated that in the Twitter dataset, the accuracy of the proposed model reached 95.7% and the F1 score reached 96.2%, which were significantly higher than those of other models. These results indicated that the model could more accurately classify access control in social networks and reduce false positives. The area under the receiver operation characteristic curve of the proposed model was 0.982, which was higher than other models. The decision time was 13.77 seconds, significantly lower than other models. This indicated that the model could more effectively distinguish different types of user access requests and provide more reliable guarantees for secure access to social networks. The user's preferred social network access control model based on graph neural networks has superior performance, effectively ensuring the information security of social network users and laying the foundation for further development of access control technology. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. Construction of embedded online teaching platform based on AES-RSA encryption algorithm

With the development of economy, people's demand for high-quality and diversified educational resources increases. However, under the frequent occurrence of network attacks, data leakage and other events, network security and information security need to be solved urgently by the current online teaching platform. To this end, the research adopts Advanced Encryption Standard encryption algorithm and introduces Rivest-Shamir-Adleman to improve it, and applies it to construct an embedded online teaching platform, aiming to ensure user’s personal information security. Experimentally, the decryption speed of the Advanced Encryption Standard-Rivest-Shamir-Adleman encryption algorithm stays around 100 ms when the number of bytes is below 60. When file size increasing, the encryption time of the proposed algorithm increases minimally. Also, the key generation time of the algorithm is always less than 1500 ms, and the average time taken to defend the online teaching platform against brute force attacks can be up to 232.1 ms. In addition, the research algorithm has the best scalability, the platform obfuscation is better, and the platform always has the lowest ciphertext bit count. In conclusion, it can be seen that the embedded online teaching platform of the study has the best confidentiality of user information, which guarantees the confidentiality and integrity of learners' personal information and teaching resources. Strong encryption technology provides solid security for the application of online education platforms, allowing educational innovation to take place in a more secure and controlled environment. © The Author(s) 2024.

The inherent complexity of Wi-Fi signals makes video-aided Wi-Fi 3D pose estimation difficult. The challenges include the limited generalizability of the task across diverse environments, its significant signal heterogeneity, and its inadequate ability to analyze local and geometric information. To overcome these challenges, we introduce WiViPose, a video-aided Wi-Fi framework for 3D pose estimation, which attains enhanced cross-environment generalization through cross-layer optimization. Bilinear temporal-spectral fusion (BTSF) is initially used to fuse the time-domain and frequency-domain features derived from Wi-Fi. Video features are derived from a multiresolution convolutional pose machine and enhanced by local self-attention. Cross-modality data fusion is facilitated through an attention-based transformer, with the process further refined under a supervisory mechanism. WiViPose demonstrates effectiveness by achieving an average percentage of correct keypoints (PCK)@50 of 91.01% across three typical indoor environments. © 2025 IEEE.

Evaluating the Impact of Special Characters on Password security: a Comparative Analysis

Text-based password authentication remains essential for identity verification on internet platforms and blockchain systems. However, as computational power advances, security threats to user passwords have intensified, raising concerns about their effectiveness. While special characters (i.e., non-alphanumeric symbols, which include punctuation marks, mathematical symbols, and other non-letter/number characters like '.', '@', '#', '$', and similar) are often recommended to enhance password strength, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) prioritizes length over complexity, challenging their necessity. This study fills a critical gap in understanding user behavior regarding special character usage. By analyzing 15 datasets from Chinese, English, and German languages, we examined patterns of special character incorporation and their impact on password strength. Our findings indicate that users frequently employ predictable methods for including special characters, potentially compromising security, especially under stringent policies. We present three key contributions: (1) an analysis of special character usage patterns, (2) a quantitative assessment of strength differences using the PCFGv4.1 model, and (3) actionable recommendations for stakeholders to enhance password security practices. This research further advocates for aligning password policies with user behavior for more effective security. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

A majorized-generalized alternating direction method of multipliers for convex composite programming

The linearly constrained convex composite programming problems whose objective function contains two blocks with each block being the form of nonsmooth+smooth arises frequently in multiple fields of applications. If both of the smooth terms are quadratic, this problem can be solved efficiently by using the symmetric Gaussian-Seidel (sGS) technique based proximal alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM). However, in the non-quadratic case, the sGS technique can not be used any more, which leads to the separable structure of nonsmooth+smooth had to be ignored. In this paper, we present a generalized ADMM and particularly use a majorization technique to make the corresponding subproblems more amenable to efficient computations. Under some appropriate conditions, we prove its global convergence for the relaxation factor in (0, 2). We apply the algorithm to solve a kind of simulated convex composite optimization problems and a type of sparse inverse covariance matrix estimation problems which illustrates that the effectiveness of the algorithm are obvious. Human activities play a significant role in triggering emergencies within vast nature reserves characterized by intricate terrains. The vast area, complex terrain, and insufficient electricity and high-bandwidth network infrastructure present significant challenges in effectively supervising nature reserves. Fortunately, intricate terrains often boast restricted access points, typically confined to just a few narrow pathways and the gait recognition technique utilizes only a small amount of binary-processed low-quality gait data and seamlessly integrates with low-resolution and low-powerconsumption cameras making it particularly suitable for human activities supervision in nature reserves. However, extensive existing supervised methods are unable to be implemented in real-world application due to the reliance on the pre-labeled training set and the insufficient retrieval accuracies. Here, we present an electronic tracking system based on the unsupervised gait recognition technique for the first time. 1) the proposed method needs not any known matching relationships in the training set and 2) achieves consistent 100% top-1 retrieval accuracies, enabling us to raise alarms when individuals enter but fail to exit, exit but do not enter, or enter restricted areas. It effectively mitigates the impact of human activities on the protected area at low cost. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

News recommender system is an important method of helping readers identify interesting stories. Although human behaviors exhibit sequential patterns, most current studies on news recommendations ignore the influence of reading sequences. Leveraging sequential patterns in news recommendation is, however, very challenging, as the capture of reading behavior sequence at the individual level may be impossible due to severity of sparsity in the field of news. To address this challenge, we proposed a group-sequence-aware graph model (GSGM) to learn representative reading sequences of groups instead of individuals, where groups are viewed as latent variables and automatically learnt from users' reading behaviours. Besides, when readers select different groups, they are likely to have distinct reading preferences. This finding is used to learn group-dependent personal reading preferences in GSGM. A wide range of experiments are conducted to verify the efficiency and effectiveness of the GSGM on real datasets. Experimental results demonstrate that GSGM outperforms the state-of-the-art competing methods. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This study proposes different standalone models viz: Elman neural network (ENN), Boosted Tree algorithm (BTA), and f relevance vector machine (RVM) for modeling arsenic (As (mg/kg)) and zinc (Zn (mg/kg)) in marine sediments owing to anthropogenic activities. A heuristic algorithm based on the potential of RVM and a flower pollination algorithm (RVM-FPA) was developed to improve the prediction performance. Several evaluation indicators and graphical methods coupled with visualized cumulative probability function (CDF) were used to evaluate the accuracy of the models. Akaike (AIC) and Schwarz (SCI) information criteria based on Dickey-Fuller (ADF) and Philip Perron (PP) tests were introduced to check the reliability and stationarity of the data. The prediction performance in the verification phase indicated that RVM-M2 (PBAIS = -o.0465, MAE = 0.0335) and ENN-M2 (PBAIS = 0.0043, MAE = 0.0322) emerged as the best model for As (mg/kg) and Zn (mg/kg), respectively. In contrast with the standalone approaches, the simulated hybrid RVM-FPA proved merit and the most reliable, with a 5 % and 18 % predictive increase for As (mg/kg) and Zn (mg/kg), respectively. The study's findings validated the potential for estimating complex HMs through intelligent data-driven models and heuristic optimization. The study also generated valuable insights that can inform the decision-makers and stockholders for environmental management strategies. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd
