As the latest evolving architecture of space networks, Internet of Satellites (IoSat) is regarded as a promising paradigm in the future beyond 5G and 6G wireless systems. However, due to the extremely large number of satellites and open links, it is challenging to ensure communication security in IoSat, especially for wiretap resisting. To the best of our knowledge, it is an entirely new problem to study the security issue in IoSat, since existing works concerning physical layer security (PLS) in satellite networks mainly focused on the space-to-terrestrial links. It is also noted that, we are the first to investigate PLS problem in IoSat. In light of this, we present in this paper an analytical model of PLS in IoSat where a terrestrial transmitter delivers its information to multi-satellite in the presence of eavesdroppers. By adopting the key parameters such as satellites' deployment density, minimum elevation angle, and orbit height, two major secrecy metric including average secrecy capacity and probability are derived and analyzed. As demonstrated by extensive numerical results, the presented theoretical framework can be utilized to efficiently evaluate the secrecy performance of IoSat, and guide the design and optimization for communication security in such systems.

The major work is to retrieve the surface soil moisture under crop cover in this paper. This paper proposes an improved GA-BP model called as DEFS-GA-BP model. This model is proposed to retrieve the surface soil moisture distribution using Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 remote sensing data. After extracting nine polarization features and one roughness parameter from Sentinel-1 data, five vegetation indexes from Sentinel-2 data. The differential evolution feature selection (DEFS) algorithm is applied to select the optimal feature subset. By using the genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the node weights, the back propagation (BP) neural network is trained using the optimal feature subset and then used to generate the surface soil moisture distribution. The results of inversion algorithm indicate that the proposed DEFS-GA-BP model has a better inversion precision than GA-BP model, and demonstrates its application potential in surface soil moisture inversion.

To date, an original method has been proposed for regional collaborative relays and relays selection based in cognitive radio networks. Considering the different fading characteristics between users and relays in communication links, the regional collaborative relays are introduced to optimize the allocation of powers through selecting available relays. Moreover, the ℓ0-norm usually is replaced with ℓl-norm which is used as the closet convex approximation. Therefore, the neoteric NP-hard optimal problem can be relaxed as a tractable convex optimization problem. Therefore, a computationally efficient and near-optimal solution is obtained by an iteratively re-weighted algorithm. Simulations show that the proposed algorithm satisfied the predetermined service levels at relatively small excess transmission power in collaborative relay network scenarios.

In scenarios where multiple parties such as the Internet of Things and Supply Chains participate in data sharing and computing, when accessing data, users not only need to accept the forward access control of the data owner, but also needs to perform reverse access control on the data, so as to realize two-way access control. In the traditional blockchain, all users can participate in accounting and view transaction data, and only protect user privacy through “pseudo-anonymity”. The access rights of different users cannot be distinguished, which cannot meet the user's two-way access control needs. However, most of the existing blockchain-based access control schemes are one-way access control, which cannot meet the needs of users for two-way access control in scenarios such as the Internet of Things and Supply Chains. Therefore, it is particularly important to design a two-way access control mechanism suitable for application in the blockchain. On this basis, this paper proposes a dual strategy attribute-based encryption (ABE) scheme for distributed outsourcing. This scheme combines two existing schemes, ciphertext-policy ABE and key-policy ABE, and proposes two access structures and a structure of attribute sets. The primary access structure and the secondary attributes are stored in the ciphertext, and the secondary access structure and the primary attributes are stored in the user's private key. Only when the primary attribute set satisfies the primary access structure and the secondary attribute set satisfies the secondary access structure can the user unlock the ciphertext. This scheme has no single authorization center; instead, blockchain nodes jointly participate in authorization. In addition, the proposed scheme outsources the encryption and decryption of the ciphertext to blockchain nodes to reduce the computing pressure on users and can adapt to the decentralized environment of the blockchain and provide users with two-way access control services. The robustness of the network is its ability to withstand unexpected failures. There is an urgent need to enhance the robustness of sparse networks as they are prone to breakage. Among the various ways to enhance network robustness measured by the edge connectivity of the entire network, shielding candidate edges is a popular method when redundant edges are not affordable. However, existing tree-cutting favors dense graphs with exponential cropped-tree growth of search space, but the search space only scales linearly in sparse graphs. We explore sparse-graph limitations by extending cropping to maximum depth while maintaining sublinear overhead, leveraging ancestor-node constraints and cropping-chain theorems for optimal efficiency. Compared with the optimal algorithm, the results in representative network types show that the robustness measurement of small-scale graphs can be enhanced to 100%, and the ratio of acceleration can be greater than 105. In large-scale graphs with millions of nodes, robustness can be improved to over 99%, while the time can be as low as tens of seconds. © 2013 IEEE.

IARA: An Orchestrating Improved Artificial Raindrop Algorithm for VNFs Deployment in Network Function Virtualization

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) can provide the resource according to the request and can improve the flexibility of the network. It has become the key technology of 5G communication. Resource scheduling for virtual network function service chain (VNF-SC) is the key issue of the NFV. In this paper, the problem of routing and VNFs deployment for VNF service chain (VNF-SC) in inter-data center elastic optical networks (inter-DC EONs) is investigated. We investigate the inter-DC EONs that each data center only can provide some specific VNFs, and the system resources of all the data centers are limited. In addition, part of requiblack VNFs in each VNF-SC is dependent, i.e., the relative order of requiblack VNFs is fixed. To solve the challenging problem, we first establish a mix-integer programming model. Then, to make the population distributed on the search domain uniformly, uniform design method was developed. In addition, an improved artificial raindrop algorithm (IARA) for the established model, which inspired by particle swarm optimization and differential evolution, is proposed to solve the maximum model efficiently. Finally, to demonstrate high performance of the designed algorithm, a series of experiments are conducted in several different experimental scenes. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm can obtain the better results than compared algorithm. © 2020. All Rights Reserved.

GPUs are essential to accelerating the latency-sensitive deep neural network (DNN) inference workloads in cloud datacenters. To fully utilize GPU resources, spatial sharing of GPUs among co-located DNN inference workloads becomes increasingly compelling. However, GPU sharing inevitably brings severe performance interference among co-located inference workloads, as motivated by an empirical measurement study of DNN inference on EC2 GPU instances. While existing works on guaranteeing inference performance service level objectives (SLOs) focus on either temporal sharing of GPUs or reactive GPU resource scaling and inference migration techniques, how to proactively mitigate such severe performance interference has received comparatively little attention. In this paper, we propose iGniter, an interference-aware GPU resource provisioning framework for cost-efficiently achieving predictable DNN inference in the cloud. iGniter is comprised of two key components: (1) a lightweight DNN inference performance model, which leverages the system and workload metrics that are practically accessible to capture the performance interference;(2) A cost-efficient GPU resource provisioning strategy that jointly optimizes the GPU resource allocation and adaptive batching based on our inference performance model, with the aim of achieving predictable performance of DNN inference workloads. We implement a prototype of iGniter based on the NVIDIA Triton inference server hosted on EC2 GPU instances. Extensive prototype experiments on four representative DNN models and datasets demonstrate that iGniter can guarantee the performance SLOs of DNN inference workloads with practically acceptable runtime overhead, while saving the monetary cost by up to 25% in comparison to the state-of-the-art GPU resource provisioning strategies. Top-k similarity join on high-dimensional data plays an important role in many applications. The traditional tree-like index based approaches can’t deal with large scale high-dimensional data efficiently because of "curse of dimensionality". So in this paper, we firstly propose an approach to construct the similarity distribution histogram using stratified sampling method, then to estimate the similarity threshold according to the number of the required returned results, finally we propose a novel Top-k similarity join algorithm based on similarity distribution histogram. We conduct comprehensive experiments and the experimental results show that our proposed approaches has good efficiency and scalability. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
