Nicole J. The Agulhas system at the interface between the Indian and Atlantic Ocean is an important region in the global oceanic circulation with a recognized key role in global climate and climate change. It is dominated by high temporal and horizontal variability. This project aims to realistically simulate this complex current system and its effect on the interoceanic transport with the highest spatial resolution to date. Using a hierarchy of global ocean models with realistic and idealized atmospheric forcing, the effect of inter-ocean transport on the large-scale circulation in the Atlantic will be established. This includes the variability of the meridional overturning and heat transports. The core of the project is a high-resolution model of the Agulhas region that is nested in a global one at lowerresolution. Both models are able to interact, which allows one to study the feedbacks from the high-resolution model on the large-scale circulation. This project is embedded in the European ocean modeling effort drAKKAr.

A parallel 2d3v PIC-MCC (particle-in-cell plasma simulations and Monte Carlo collisions) code is developed with message passing language PVM to simulate the electron cyclotron resonance plasma source in this research. This code has been run on a PC cluster with a cluster system we developed called "diskless remote Boot in Linux (drBL)", which is a centralized boot and management environment. By using drBL, it's easier for us to integrate some PCs to a cluster system. Once we have some computing power, with the grid technology, we can harvest more by sharing the computingresources with others. This is a new approach to harvest more computing power. With the PIC-MCC simulation of ECr plasma source, the results and benchmark fordifferent cluster architectures are given anddiscussed.
Many scientific applications running on today's supercomputers deal with increasingly large data sets and are correspondingly bottlenecked by the time it takes to read or write the data from/to the file system. We...

Few-shot semantic segmentation aims at training a model that can segment novel classes in a query image with only a few densely annotated support *** remains a challenge because of large intra-class variations between the support and query *** approaches utilize 4d convolutions to mine semantic correspondence between the support and query ***,they still suffer from heavy computation, sparse correspondence, and large *** propose axial assembled correspondence network(AACNet)to alleviate these *** key point of AACNet is the proposed axial assembled 4d kernel, which constructs the basic block for semantic correspondence encoder(SCE).Furthermore,we propose the deblurring equations to provide more robust correspondence for the aforementioned SCE anddesign a novel fusion module to mix correspondences in a learnable *** on PASCAL-5~i reveal that our AACNet achieves a mean intersection-over-union score of 65.9%for 1-shot segmentation and 70.6%for 5-shot segmentation, surpassing the state-of-the-art method by 5.8%and 5.0%respectively.

In this paper, we propose a p2p network based location search algorithm which can be used to establish connections in Internet telephony. By using the location search algorithm, the caller can identify the peer it is calling. The algorithm is based upon the concept of gradient search and is applicable upon unstructured networks. It is inspired by a biological phenomenon called haptotaxis. The algorithm performs at par with dHT-based location search algorithms, however it is much more robust than such structured algorithms. We also present some initial analysis to explain the reason behind the superiority of the algorithm
Knowing the performance of an application in a Grid environment is an important issue in application development and for scheduling decisions. In this paper we describe the analysis and optimisation of a computation- ...
