It is well known that when a laser is reflected from a rough surface or transmitted through a diffusive medium, a speckle pattern will be formed at a given observation plane. Speckle is commonly produced by laser beams with a homogeneous intensity, for which, well-known relations have been derived, relating the speckle size to the area of illumination. Here we investigate the speckle generated by higher-order Laguerre- Gaussian (LG) modes, characterized by a non-uniform intensity distribution of concentric *** show that the ring-structure of the LG modes does not play any role in the speckle size, which happens to be the same as that obtained for a homogeneous intensity distribution. This allow us to provide with a simple expression that relates the speckle size to the spot size of the LG modes. Our findings will be of great relevance in many speckle-based applications. This paper is concerned about the parameters identification of the Jiles-Atherton hysteresis loop model using Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm (FOA). An improved Fruit Fly optimization algorithm (IFOA) is proposed to overcome the drawback of FOA, such as easily falling into local optimum, low precision, and poor stability. The IFOA has been applied to identify Jiles-Atherton model parameters of conventional non-oriented electrical steel. The simulation results are compared with those of FOA and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), which shows the modelled M - H curve obtained with IFOA is in good agreement with the measured M - H curve and IFOA method has the advantages of better global searching ability, higher precision and stability. The non-source temperature calibration method of the multi-spectral pyrometer (MSP), put forward in the previous article, is the non-source calibration method based on the MSP transfer function (NCCTF). In this paper, the practicability of NCCTF is researched. The situations that maybe encountered of the temperature points in the actual calibration process are simulated. The impact of the intervals temperature points of different number and unequal intervals temperature points on the NCCTF accuracy are researched theoretically to determine the temperature points select method. Simulation experimental results show that the NCCTF can meet the actual calibration process with good usability.

In order to achieve aims of rapid real-time monitoring iron grade during sales process or mineral processing for the iron ores, a quick detection approach to magnetic iron grade of magnetite based on electromagnetic induction is explored in the paper. Information acquisition head is focused on an iron grade sensor, and the iron grade sensor is made up of coil-windings with magnetite core. Information acquisition circuits are given adapting mode of the transformer bridge type rectifier, and construction of the head is designed and machined. Testing mechanism is analyzed from the angle of magnetic field analysis, and the magnetic field model is also built up. Furthermore, magnetic iron grade of some testing samples are measured by the detection device above. It is showed that when the grade range of the magnetic iron of magnetite is varied from 20% to 65.3%, deviation is lower than 1.0%. By research above, it is shown that the detection method of iron grade based on electromagnetic induction is feasible, and it is also significant for improving the total testing level of mineral processing fields. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

"Soft-field" nature and ill-posed problems to influence on the accuracy of image reconstruction in electrical capacitance tomography technology (ECT), in the analysis of ECT basic principle and imaging algorithm, a novel image fusion method based on edge feature detection using the feature of different frequency domains of wavelet decomposition is presented in this paper. The LBP algorithm and Landweber algorithm are used as the base of image reconstruction in the paper, the fusion rules based on the combination of Local gradient and local signal strength and the weighted averaging operator are used to fuse the high-frequency coefficients and low-frequency coefficients of the fused image, in this way, higher accuracy imaging results can be got. The simulation results show that the image fusion accuracy is improved, and reconstruction image effect is enhanced. © 2014 SERSC.

In order to solve the difficulties existing in course of complex system reliability modeling, a novel method was proposed in this paper. According to the analysis sequence, from FMEA to FTA to BN, a BN can be constructed by making full use of the helpful information in the results of FMEA and FTA. The reliability of complex system can be analyzed based on uncertainty-expression ability and bidirectional-reasoning ability of BN. For demonstrating the effectiveness of this method, aim at the failures of gears in wind turbine gearbox, a BN for system reliability analysis was constructed. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper presents a joint source-channel coding scheme of improved SPIHT algorithm combined with unequal error protection. Source coding to improve the SPIHT algorithm, the L set materiality judgment, using Z scanning sequence, highlights the low frequency information, important degree, preferred to scan frequency;channel coding by irregular quasi-cyclic, using different code rate and the number of iterations code, the full implementation of unequal error protection of important information, secondary information and other important information, have extremely strong error control. Simulation results show that, the united coding algorithm with quality performance in low SNR, at high SNR, and can realize and performance error protection is basically the same, the SNR curve, the effect is quite prominent. © 2013 IEEE.

In order to improve the detecting sensitivity of inductive sensor and system signal-to-noise ratio, Wien bridge sine wave oscillator circuit with low distortion for excitation signal and weak signal processing circuit is designed. Transformer is used to block the part of DC in carrier signal for improving the detection sensitivity of the system. The structure of circuit is simple, practical and reliable. Experimental results showed that circuit system can effectively improve the signal-to-noise ratio and the noise of system. © 2013 IEEE.

The paper studied the rail length measurement method, analyzed the sound waves attenuation in rails. The sound wave attenuated severely after traveling through the rail, so adopted the signal correlation principle of the lock-in amplifier to detect weak signal. Then completed the circuit design such as the acoustic emission circuit, the preamplifier circuit, the signal operation circuit of the digital lock-in amplifier and so on. The lock-in amplifier did correlation operation between the signals and completed the reference signal phase shift function by DSP and at last, detected the weak signals in noises. keyword-weak signal length measurement lock-in amplifier. © 2013 IEEE.

The rapid development of the petrochemical industry and the increasing demand of energy require the loading process of liquid fuel more efficient, automatic and environmental friendly. The quantitative loading system includes computer control, instrument automation, network technology, and communication technique. The aim of crane tube loading system is to achieve automatic quantification of the monitor and control. ARM9-based automatic loading system is introduced in this paper, which can meet the requirement of large flow rapidly quantitative loading using quantitative loading control device. The device can improve the efficiency of oil production and economic benefits, reduce the lab.r intensity and has great significance in the aspect of market competitiveness. © 2013 IEEE.
