This paper aims to explain the process of developing creative strategies for empowering community capabilities and local resources in managing geotourism in the Ijen Geopark development area of the Bondowoso region. The location is in the Ijen District as a depiction area for developing the Ijen Geopark. The perspective used in this study is a resource-based view with valuable, rare, imitable, non-substitutable (VRIN) analysis to identify the effectiveness of the performance of local geotourism resources. The results showed that the daily management of geoparks has collaborated with institutions in rural areas in building sustainable competitive advantages to manage geotourism oriented to VRIN criteria in the delineation area of the development of the Ijen Geopark. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

Several studies have examined the connection between innovation, technology, and organizational culture in recent years. Management of technology and innovation is crucial to an organization's expansion and success. The development of an innovative organizational culture comes before technology and innovation management. This study's primary goal was to assess how organizational culture affects innovation in the Indian service sector. The study made use of a paradigm for understanding organisational culture created by Cameron and Quinn, which looks at culture as a collection of conflicting values from four angles. A descriptive survey research design was used in the investigation. Employees of service industries made up the study's population. More than twenty IT organizations participated in the survey, and 120 out of 180 respondents returned completed questionnaires. This indicated a response rate of 66%.The collected data was analyzed using inferential data analysis techniques and descriptive statistics. Tables and figures were created after analysis with IBM SPSS software. The results demonstrated that the strongest associations with innovation and technology were found in companies with flexible, collaborative, and employee-friendly cultures. Lastly, the study suggests areas for additional research, such as employing a new organizational culture model for the study or qualitative techniques for data collecting and analysis to reveal deeper cultural features. © 2024 IEEE.

The Langat River Basin in Malaysia is vulnerable to soil erosion risks because of its exposure to intensive land use activities and its topography,which primarily consists of steep slopes and mountainous ***,climate change frequently exposes this basin to drought,which negatively affects soil and water ***,recent studies have rarely shown how soil reacts to drought,such as soil ***,the purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between drought and soil erosion in the Langat River *** analyzed drought indices using Landsat 8 satellite images in November 2021,and created the normalized differential water index(NDWI)via Landsat 8 data to produce a drought *** used the revised universal soil loss equation(RUSLE)model to predict soil *** verified an association between the NDWI and soil erosion data using a correlation *** results revealed that the southern and northern regions of the study area experienced drought *** predicted an average annual soil erosion of approximately 58.11 t/(hm^(2)·a).Analysis of the association between the NDWI and soil erosion revealed a strong positive correlation,with a Pearson correlation coefficient of *** assumed that the slope length and steepness factor was the primary contributor to soil erosion in the study *** a result,these findings can help authorities plan effective measures to reduce the impacts of drought and soil erosion in the future.

Cattle Business Insurance is one of the important programs to support the livestock sector. The purpose of this study was to determine the farmers' perceptions of the time of cattle business insurance claims in Gowa. This research was conducted in April 2019 which was located in Gowa Regency. The population in this study is the largest number of farmers who have participated in the cattle insurance program as many as 69 farmers. The results showed that the claim time is the biggest obstacle to the implementation of cattle business insurance because the time given is very short while the number of requirements that should be completed. The conclusion of this study is the farmers' perceptions of the time the cattle business insurance claims are in the District, including a major obstacle for farmers. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The road shade plants composition and morphology profile in Malang city, East Java-Indonesia

The research aims to explain the plant composition and morphology profile of four road shade plant species in Malang City. The observed road shade plants consist of Handroanthus chrysotrichus, Bauhinia purpurea, Spathodea campanulata and Erythrina fusca. The study was conducted in May to June 2022. Observations included the number of plants, plant density, stem circumference, plant height, canopy covering an area, and plant canopy shape parameters. The results showed that generally, the composition of four road shade plants in Malang City was 49.24 percent S. campanulata, 21.02 percent B. purpurea, 15.63 percent E. fusca, and 14.11 percent H. chrysotrichus. The H. chrysotrichus had a square-shaped canopy, B. purpurea had a dome-shaped canopy, S. campanulata had a rounded-shape canopy, and E. fusca had an irregular-shape canopy. Most of the densities of H. chrysotrichus, B. purpurea, and S. campanulata were 3-6 (trees/500 m), and the E. fusca was less than 3 (trees/500 m). Most H. chrysotrichus and B. purpurea plants had 50-100 cm, S. campanulata 100-150 cm, and E. fusca less than 50 cm stem circumference. Most of the plants of H. chrysotrichus, B. purpurea, and E. fusca had 4-7 m, and S. campanulata had 7-10 m plant height. All shade plants had a 3-12 m2 canopy covering the area.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the prevalence of poor mental health and its association with loneliness and social support among 3531 undergraduate students in nine Asian countries. Mental health was assessed using the Self-Reporting Questionnaire, which was developed by the World Health Organization. Across the entire sample, we detected that nearly half of the students reported poor mental health according to the Self-Reporting Questionnaire and nearly one out of seven students felt lonely. While feeling lonely increased the odds of experiencing poor mental health (odds ratio [OR]), moderate (OR: 0.35) and strong social support (OR: 0.18) decreases the odds of experiencing poor mental health. The high prevalence of poor mental health calls for further in-depth investigations and implementation of mental health support interventions. © 2023 APJPH.

Influence of socio-economic characteristics on the scale of beef cattle business in Itterung Village Tellusiattinge Bone District

Business scale is one of the keys to the development of livestock businesses to support national meat self#x00AD; sufficiency programs. If the scale of the farmer#x2019;s business increases, then the cattle population will increase as well. This research aims to find out the influence of socioeconomic characteristics (capital, livestock seedlings, land area, animal feed, age, education level, number of family members, breeder experience, breeder motivation, perception of the farming business, extension intensity, and status of livestock ownership) simultaneously and partially against the scale of beef cattle business in Tellusiattinge Bone District. The study was conducted from July to August 2021. Talcing in Itterung Village, Tellusiattinge Bone District with the consideration that in the village, the largest cattle population. The type of research used is a type of quantitative research explanatory. The number of breeders in Itterung Village as many as 88 people were selected as research samples. The type of data used in this study is quantitative data. Data collection is conducted using questionnaires. Data analysis uses the F test and the t-test using multiple linear regression models. The results showed that capital (Xl), land (X3), feed (X4), education level (X6), number of family members (X7), breeder experience (XS), and breeder motivation (X9) affect the scale of beef cattle business (Y) while livestock seedlings (X2), age (X5), perception offarming business (XlO), extension intensity (Xll) and cattle ownership status (Xl2) has no real effect on the scale of slaughter cattle business (Y). Livestock business in Tellusiattinge Sub-district is still dependent on the availability of capital and land. To increase the scale of the business, an alternative funding model is needed so that the capacity of farmers can increase. Feed processing technology from rice straw waste is also needed so that the availability offeed can increase.

Estimation of uniresponse ordinal logistic nonparametric regression model based on multivariate adaptive regression spline

One of the adaptive methods in nonparametric regression that is able to accommodate interactions between predictor variables is the Multivariate Adaptive Regression Spline (MARS) method. MARS modeling has been developed based on the types of response variables involved in regression modeling, one of which is categorical (qualitative) response variables. The MARS method with categorical responses (both binary and ordinal) can be used as a modern statistical classification method, where the classification in MARS by using ordinal logistic regression approach. Estimation of function in ordinal logistic regression is assumed smooth based on the ordinal MARS model, namely as the MARS ordinal logit model. The development of previous studies only discussed binary responses, while for cases with responses of more than two categories, the MARS method was needed that could analyze ordinal responses. This study estimates the parameters for an ordinal category response using ordinal logistic nonparametric regression model based on MARS. This study aims to estimate the cumulative probability of ordinal logistic nonparametric regression model using the MARS estimator. Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method is used to obtain parameter estimation. The results showed that the distribution of the ordinal scale response variable with three categories in the MARS model is multinomial distribution, that the log-likelihood function of the ordinal response random variable will be maximized to obtain the parameter value. Estimators for parameters cannot be obtained directly (because the resulting function is non-linear), so Newton-Raphson iteration is used to obtain parameter estimates.

Wastewater produced by batik industry in Cibelok Village, Pemalang that is disposed straight into the sewage will increase the concentration of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), ammonia (NH3), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), watercolour, acidity (pH), and dissolved oxygen (DO). Disposed batik wastewater without treatment will contaminate the environment, mainly its water and soil. The main purpose of this research is to reduce the concentration of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), ammonia (NH3), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), watercolour, acidity, and dissolved oxygen (DO) by treating batik Cibelok's waste and not contaminate the surrounding environment. Laboratory test results on batik waste in COD, BOD, DO, ammonia, chromium, lead, colour, and acidity (pH). These results are not in accordance with the 2014 Waste Water Quality Standard Number 5 by the Regulation of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia. Alternatives that have been done to treat Cibelok Village's batik waste is to lower dangerous substances concentration through electrocoagulation and filtration. The processes could lower COD level around 57.6%, ammonia 98%, chromium 85%, and BOD 67%. Reducing the concentration of the substance makes the batik waste safer and environmentally friendly when it's finally disposed to the sewage. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd.
