Spectrum sensing is a fundamental function for cognitive radio systems, which can improve spectrum utilization. In this article, a blind spectrum sensing method based on the sample covariance matrix and K-median clustering algorithm is proposed to further improve the sensing performance. Specifically, to obtain a two-dimensional signal feature vector, the received signal matrix is rebuilt into two sub-matrices by the decomposition and reorganization (DAR) method. Moreover, two statistical covariance matrices are constructed by the sub-matrices, respectively. The ratios between the sum of some elements from the sample covariance matrices and the sum of diagonal elements from those matrices are used as a signal feature vector. It is demonstrated that the new signal feature vector and the feature vector based on the improved covariance absolute value method are equivalent. Furthermore, K-median clustering algorithm is trained by signal feature vectors to obtain a classifier. Indeed, this classifier can directly be used to detect whether the PU signal is absent or not. Simulation results report that the proposed algorithm has better sensing performance than some popular sensing algorithms based on random matrix theory or information geometry. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper addresses the stability and stabilization issues of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems under sampled-data control. In this paper, efforts are dedicated to developing a stability criterion and control strategy with high accuracy and low complexity, leveraging an improved looped functional and a fuzzy-related matrix injection method. First, an improved looped function containing quadratic information about the sampling sawtooth characteristic is employed to include as much system state information as possible in a simple form. In response to the nonlinear terms encountered in the functional derivatives, a fuzzy-related matrix injection method is proposed on the basis of linearization transformation. This method enables the unified treatment of reciprocally convex and quadratic terms, which is conducive to reducing estimation gaps. Based on the aforementioned techniques, stability and stabilization criteria for T-S fuzzy systems are derived. The efficacy and superiority of the proposed method are substantiated through rigorous theoretical analysis and illustrative instances. © 1993-2012 IEEE.

Spintronic devices have the advantages of high endurance and energy efficiency for nonvolatile memory and emerging neuromorphic computing applications, especially with the spin-orbit torque (SOT) driven magnetization switching manner. The Co-based Heusler alloy is potentially an ideal material for constructing spintronic devices due to its high spin polarization, high saturation magnetization, high Curie temperature and low damping. Here, we investigate the current induced magnetization switching of Heusler alloy Co 2 FeSi with good perpendicular magnetic anisotropy through SOT. Inspired by the gradual switching process, we further study the memristive behaviors of the device, which can be used as artificial synapse for neuromorphic computing. Both the pulse amplitudes and pulse numbers are exploited to modulate the resistance states. Based on the extracted synaptic characteristics, an artificial neural network is simulated, causing a high accuracy of 91.52%. Our work paves a way for the application of Heusler alloy in magnetic random-access memory and neuromorphic computing. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A Generalized Probabilistic Monitoring Model with Both Randomand Sequential Data

Many multivariate statistical analysis methods and their corresponding probabilistic counterparts have been adopted to develop process monitoring models in recent decades. However, the insightful connections between them have rarely been studied. In this study, a generalized probabilistic monitoring model (GPMM) is developed with both random and sequential data. Since GPMM can be reduced to various probabilistic linear models under specific restrictions, it is adopted to analyze the connections between different monitoring methods. Using expectation maximization (EM) algorithm, the parameters of GPMM are estimated for both random and sequential cases. Based on the obtained model parameters, statistics are designed for monitoring different aspects of the process system. Besides, the distributions of these statistics are rigorously derived and proved, so that the control limits can be calculated accordingly. After that, contribution analysis methods are presented for identifying faulty variables once the process anomalies are detected. Finally, the equivalence between monitoring models based on classical multivariate methods and their corresponding probabilistic graphic models is further investigated. The conclusions of this study are verified using a numerical example and the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process. Experimental results illustrate that the proposed monitoring statistics are subject to their corresponding distributions, and they are equivalent to statistics in classical deterministic models under specific restrictions. This study focuses on periodic event-triggered (PET) cooperative output regulation problem for a class of nonlinear multi-agent systems. The key feature of PET mechanism is that event-triggered conditions are required to be monitored only periodically. This approach is beneficial for Zeno behavior exclusion and saving of battery energy of onboard sensors. At first, new PET distributed observers are proposed to estimate the leader information. We show that the estimation error converges to zero exponentially with a known convergence rate under asynchronous PET communication. Second, a novel PET output feedback controller is designed for the underlying strict feedback nonlinear multi-agent systems. Based on a state transformation technique and a local PET state observer, the cooperative semi-global output regulation problem can be solved by the proposed new control design technique. This paper addresses a distributed optimization problem in a communication network where nodes are active sporadically. Each active node applies some learning method to control its action to maximize the global utility function, which is defined as the sum of the local utility functions of active nodes. We deal with stochastic optimization problem with the setting that utility functions are disturbed by some non-additive stochastic process. We consider a more challenging situation where the learning method has to be performed only based on a scalar approximation of the utility function, rather than its closed-form expression, so that the typical gradient descent method cannot be applied. This setting is quite realistic when the network is affected by some stochastic and time-varying process, and that each node cannot have the full knowledge of the network states. We propose a distributed optimization algorithm and prove its almost surely convergence to the optimum. Convergence rate is also derived with an additional assumption that the objective function is strongly concave. Numerical results are also presented to justify our claim. This paper proposes a distributed optimization algorithm based on alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) for the distributed optimization problem of multi-agent systems, called ADMM with adaptive penalty terms and conditional communication (for short, AAPCC), by using the local information of agents to update the adaptive penalty terms to speed up the convergence speed while by restricting the communication conditions of agents to reduce the communication cost of agents in the iterative process. Thus, the communication cost of the system is reduced while the convergence speed is ensured. Numerical simulation experiments show that in a multi-agent system, compared with the classical ADMM, AAPCC can better balance the convergence speed and communication cost, suitable for multi-agent systems that require fast convergence speed and less communication cost.

The research area of industrial alarm monitoring and management has been attracting increasing studies in the past decade. A variety of advanced alarm management techniques have been proposed. However, the validation of the results were mostly based on real industrial data while such data was not always accessible to all researchers. Even if obtained, the privacy policies of industrial corporations may lead to difficulty in publishing new results. Thus, there is a great demand to construct a large scale simulated alarm system and create standard alarm & event data for the test of new methods. This paper proposes the design of a simulated alarm system by extending the public model of a Vinyl Acetate Monomer(VAM) process and collects the alarm & event data through a long term alarm monitoring process. An example alarm & event dataset is created and analyzed to illustrate the usability of the simulated alarm system.

This paper investigates the finite-time anti-synchronization problem of memristive neural networks（MNNs） with time-varying delays. First, a delayed-feedback controller is constructed to realize the anti-synchronization. Then, by employing appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and the designed controller, new sufficient criteria are derived for the finite-time anti-synchronization of MNNs. Finally, an example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.
