Social Manufacturing for High-end Apparel Customization

Social manufacturing(SM), a novel distributed,collaborative and intelligent manufacturing mode, is proposed and developed for high-end apparel customization. The main components of SM cloud are designed, and its research topics are summarized. Then, SM's key technologies are studied. 3D technologies for apparel customization, like 3D modeling, 3D fitting mirror and 3D customization, are developed to improve the customization precision and user experience. Information based collaborative management is realized to share, communicate,and handle the information efficiently among all groups and individuals of SM cloud. Suppliers' evaluation mechanism is designed to support the optimal decisions making. Next, SM cloud is constructed in five layers for high-end apparel *** using SM cloud based crowd-sourcing, social resources can be allocated rationally and utilized efficiently, consumer can customize the product in any processes like innovation, design,making, marketing and service, and traditional apparel enterprise can be upgraded into SM mode for keeping it competitive in the future customization markets.

To improve text sentiments classification issues, such as information loss and insensitivity to spatial information, this paper proposes a text sentiment classification model based on the capsule network (T-Caps), which uses the Transformer to extract low-level text features. The method iteratively updates capsule network parameters through optimized dynamic routing algorithms and global parameter sharing, and it obtains the relationship between local features of the text and the overall emotional polarity to save the information integrity of text features. By comparing with multiple models, we find that the Transformer has the strongest feature extraction capability. The experimental results show that our model is capable of extracting more discriminative semantic features and yields a significant performance gain compared to other baseline methods.

Nowadays PV systems is suffering from two main problems: high production cost and low efficiency especially under variable weather conditions. Therefore, to reduce such associated problems, PV systems are being connected with various optimization controllers such as maximum power point tracking. In this paper, an artificial neural network maximum power point method has been designed to be linked between a PV system and DC-DC buck converter, and each part of the system is fully explained. The whole system was modeled under MATLAB/Simulink environment, simulation results demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed method. The proposed method has been examined to track the maximum power point under different weather conditions which shows a rapid and accurate tracking of the maximum power point(MPP) of PV system. The whole system which consists of PV arrays, Buck converter, ANN tracker, and load has been modeled using MATLAB/Simulink environment. This Simulink model has been examined using different levels of temperature and irradiation and the output results of both P-V and I-V characteristics, output power, and the system efficiency clearly demonstrate the validation of the modeled system. This demonstration has been done by comparing between the result of experimental platform and the results of simulated model which approves that ANN is highly recommended to be used in the field of maximum power point tracking of PV system.

With the large-scale application of wind power, the wind power prediction has been highlighted. In order to improve the prediction accuracy of wind power and ensure the resource utilization rate, a wind power prediction method based on support vector machine regression and particle swarm optimization based on multi-source NWP (numerical weather prediction) is proposed. Firstly, the SVR (support vector regression) algorithm is introduced to model the multi-source wind speed data, which can effectively extract the main features and improve the wind speed prediction accuracy. Then, the PSO (particle swarm optimization) is used to model the historical predicted power data and the actual power data for power prediction. Finally, the proposed approach provides wind power forecasts for future 1 day in steps of 15 min. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by experiments on wind farms and the results show that the proposed method is more accurate and effective than SVR. © ISCIIA and ITCA 2018 - 8th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Applications and 12th China-Japan International Workshop on Information Technology and control Application.

Direct current (DC) motors are one of the most important kind of motors and are widely used in robotic and industrial applications. Recently, there have been significant efforts to develop direct current (DC) motors in an attempt to control speed of motors. However, conventional controlling approaches perform undesirably in terms of stability and quick response. Therefore, this paper presents a hybrid intelligent controller configuration for optimized speed control of brushless direct current (BLDC) motors in a factory supervisory control data acquisition (SCADA) system. We compare this hybrid intelligent controller with a conventional PID controller, fuzzy logic controller (FLC), and artificial neural network model reference controller (ANNMRC) in MATLAB , and the results show that the hybrid (neuro-fuzzy) controller performs superior in terms of stability, speed trajectory tracking capability, fast response, and simplicity for implementation.

This paper presents an AI education system and related AI curricula specifically designed for primary and secondary students at different cognitive levels. In this system, complicated AI algorithms are encapsulated and modularized with friendly and easy-to-use interfaces. AI curricula are developed based on constructivism, project-based learning and multidisciplinary integration. Typical teaching cases, such as speech recognition, text recognition, image recognition, intelligent transportation, smart home, intelligent robots, etc., which are used to enhance comprehension of AI concepts and applications, are also discussed. © American Society for Engineering Education, 2019

In blockchain ecosystems, an Oracle is a service tool which provides real-world data for smart contracts and other blockchain applications. At present, there are several Oracle implementation schemes, e.g. centralized Oracles, decentralized Oracles, and hardware Oracles. However, these schemes typically suffer from single source of data and low scalability. Application Specific Knowledge Engine (ASKE) is an integrated topic/application-centered knowledge portal that supports effective information retrieval and analysis. Inspired by ASKE, in this paper, we propose a novel Oracle implementation scheme. The proposed scheme can realize multi-source data extraction and analysis, then working prototypes are demonstrated to show the validity of the scheme. © 2019 IEEE.

After reviewing the development of industrial manufacturing, a novel concept called social manufacturing(SM) and service are proposed as an innovative manufacturing solution for the coming personalized customization era. SM can realize a customer's requirements of "from mind to products", and fulfill tangible and intangible needs of a prosumer, i.e., producer and consumer at the same time. It represents a manufacturing trend,and is expected to become popular in more and more ***, a comparison between mass customization and SM is given out, and the basis and motivation from social network to SM is analyzed. Then, its basic theories and supporting technologies,like Internet of Things(Io T), social networks, cloud computing,3 D printing, and intelligent systems, are introduced and analyzed,and an SM platform prototype is developed. Finally, three transformation modes towards SM and 3 D printing are suggested for different user cases.

Ordinal Optimization for Optimal Orientation Problems in 3D Printing

Compared with a traditional manufacturing process, 3D printing has advantages of performance and cost in personalized customization and has been applied in many fields. The problem of 3D model orientation optimization is a crucial one in practice. In this paper, based on the mathematical relationship between model orientation and printing time, surface quality, and supporting area, the model orientation problem is transformed into a multi-objective optimization problem with goal of minimizing printing time, surface quality, and supporting area. Ordinal Optimization (OO) is not only applicable to problems with random factors, but also to solve complex deterministic problems. The model orientation is a complex deterministic problem. We solve it with OO in this paper and use linear weighting to convert the multi-objective optimization problem into single-objective one. Finally, we compare the experimental results of solving 3D model orientation problems solved by OO and Genetic Algorithm (GA). The results show that OO requires less calculation time than GA while achieving comparable performance.

In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology, facial expression recognition technology has gradually been applied to primary and secondary schools. This article first introduces the application of facial expression recognition in education. Then the development of facial expression recognition and the four basic processes of facial expressions are described. After that, the methods and algorithms used in face detection and localization of face expression recognition and classification are summarized, feature extraction and classification are summarized. Finally, the current application of facial expression recognition technology in education and the existing problems and future development are pointed out.
