CS/Gel/MWCNTs Conductive Scaffolds Assisted by Electrical Stimulus for Skin Tissue Engineering

Hydrogel scaffolds show high potential in tissue engineering due to excellent mechanical properties and biocompatibility. However, an inherent lack of conductivity limits its application in areas requiring electrical stimulation. To address this issue, chitosan (CS)/gelatin (Gel) scaffolds were prepared with various concentrations of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). Results indicated that MWCNT incorporation significantly improved both the electrical conductivity and mechanical strength of the scaffolds, with the CS/Gel/0.3% MWCNTs scaffold demonstrating superior biocompatibility compared to other formulations. Additionally, fibroblasts seeded onto the scaffolds responded positively to electrical stimulation, showing increased proliferation and elevated expression of type I and type III collagen. These findings highlight the potential of CS/Gel/MWCNTs scaffolds to enhance wound healing in skin tissue engineering. © 2025 Wiley Periodicals LLC.

In chemical processes, there are both nonlinearity and slow dynamics among process variables. Meanwhile, at the beginning of faults, slight variation may not prompt the significant parametric changes. Traditional fault detection methods, based on mean and variation shifts, often fail to achieve satisfactory performance. To improve the detection of incipient quality-related faults, a novel orthonormal slow feature-based quality-related data decomposition network with Jensen-Shannon divergence (OSF-JS) fault detection method is proposed. The orthonormal subspace analysis (OSA) is embedded with Siamese to extract orthonormal slow features (OSFs) from decomposed subspaces. Enhancing the detection of incipient faults, JS divergence combined with a sliding window algorithm is introduced to construct statistics. The effectiveness of OSF-JS is validated for a wastewater treatment process and a real-world chemical process. Results show that the proposed OSF-JS method not only improves the fault detection rate (FDR) and reduces false alarm rate (FAR) but also identifies whether faults occur in the quality-related component. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Development of an HCN dual laser for the interferometer on EAST

A two-color continuous wave（CW） discharge-pumped far-infrared（FIR） hydrogen cyanide（HCN） laser was developed as the source of an interferometer for measuring the line-averaged electron density in the Experimental advanced Superconducting Tokamak（EAST）. The output power of the dual laser system was about 120 m W from each laser on the 337 μm（0.89 THz）line. The polarization of each output beam was fixed using thin tungsten filaments and oscillated in the EH11 mode. Different megahertz intermediate frequencies（IF） and a slight frequency offset（～1 MHz） were generated in this system to replace the traditional rotating grating with～10 k Hz IF, and this can improve the time resolution of the interferometer significantly. The experimental result showed that different IF signals were obtained by successfully adjusting the cavity length. In particular, the beat frequency was captured at ～1.3 MHz by a Schottky mixer when the length of the resonant cavities was changed by 5 μm by an automatic adjustment system. In order to study the character of IF, a long time record of the IF signal was carried out,and the IF signal could be stabilized for a few minutes in the range of 2 MHz to 3 MHz. A realtime IF stability control system was initially designed for long pulse discharge experiments on the EAST. The ～MHz frequency response and good phase sensitivity of the dual laser HCN interferometer will allow the system to track fast density profiles and resolve fast MHD events,such as tearing/neoclassical tearing, disruptions, etc.

Soft grippers have great potential applications in daily life,since they can compliantly grasp soft and delicate ***,the highly elastic fingers of most soft grippers are prone to separate from each other while grasping objects due to their low stiffness,thus reducing the grasping stability and load-bearing *** tackle this problem,inspired from the venus flytrap plant,this work proposes a mutual-hook mechanism to restrain the separation and improve the grasping performance of soft *** novel soft gripper design consists of three modules,a soft finger-cot,two Soft Hook Actuators(SHAs)and two sliding ***,the soft finger-cot covers on the soft finger,increasing the contact area with the target object,two SHAs are fixed to the left and right sides of the finger-cot,and the sliding mechanisms are designed to make SHAs stretch *** demonstrate that the proposed design can restrain the separation of soft fingers substantially,and the soft fingers with the finger-cots can grasp objects three times heavier than the soft fingers without the proposed *** proposed design can provide invaluable insights for soft fingers to restrain the separation while grasping,thus improving the grasping stability and the load-bearing capacity.

Sample generation is an effective way to solve the problem of the insufficiency of training data for hyperspectral image classification. The generative adversarial network（GAN） is one of the popular deep learning methods, which utilizes adversarial training to generate the region of samples based on the required class label. In this paper, we propose cascade conditional generative adversarial nets for hyperspectral image complete spatial-spectral sample generation, named C;GAN. The C;GAN includes two stages. The stageone model consists of the spatial information generation with a window size that entails feeding random noise and the required class label. The second stage is the spatial-spectral information generation that generates spectral information of all bands in the spatial region by feeding the label regions. The visualization and verification of generated samples based on the Pavia University and Salinas datasets show superior performance, which demonstrates that our method is useful for hyperspectral image classification.

Zero-Magnetic-Field Oscillation of Spin Transfer Nano-Oscillator with a Second-Order-Perpendicular-Anisotropy Free Layer

The zero-magnetic-field oscillation behavior of spin torque nano-oscillator （STNO） with a perpendicularly mag- netized free layer with second-order uniaxial anisotropy is studied theoretically based on the Landau-Lifshitz- Cilbert-Slonczewski equation. It is demonstrated numerically that the second-order uniaxial anisotropy plays a significant role in the occurrence of a zero-magnetic-field steady-state precession, which can be understood in terms of the energy balance between the energy accumulation due to the spin torque and the energy dissipation due to the Gilbert damping. In particular, a relatively large zero-magnetic-field-oscillation current region, in which the corresponding microwave frequency is increased while the threshold current still maintains an almost constant value, can be obtained by modulating the second-order uniaxial anisotropy of the free layer. These results suggest a tunable zero-magnetic-field STNO, and it may be a promising configuration for STNO＇s applications in future wireless communications.

Ultra-wideband（UWB） positioning technology has absolute advantages due to its centimeter-level accurate positioning ***,the positioning accuracy is greatly reduced because of the inability to completely solve the error caused by non-line-of-sight（NLOS） and multi-path *** present,the Chan-Taylor（C-T） combination algorithm proposed by scholars can achieve a good positioning effect in the line-of-sight（LOS） environment,but in the NLOS environment,positioning deviation of this algorithm is large .Aiming at the problem of low localization accuracy in NLOS environment,this paper presents a Chan-Taylor-Kalman（CTK） joint positioning algorithm based on UWB and adapted to NLOS *** basic idea of CTK joint positioning algorithm is to introduce weight coefficients on the basis of C-T combination algorithm to reduce the situation of non-convergence of positioning results;then combined with the improved Kalman filter to eliminate outliers and eliminate the influence of the non-line-of-sight *** show that under the same NLOS environment,the probability of the positioning error of the C-T combination positioning algorithm greater than 20 cm is about 60%,while the probability of the positioning error of the CTK joint positioning algorithm greater than 10 cm is only about 10%.
