This paper proposes a distributed optimization algorithm based on alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) for the distributed optimization problem of multi-agent systems, called ADMM with adaptive penalty terms and conditional communication (for short, AAPCC), by using the local information of agents to update the adaptive penalty terms to speed up the convergence speed while by restricting the communication conditions of agents to reduce the communication cost of agents in the iterative process. Thus, the communication cost of the system is reduced while the convergence speed is ensured. Numerical simulation experiments show that in a multi-agent system, compared with the classical ADMM, AAPCC can better balance the convergence speed and communication cost, suitable for multi-agent systems that require fast convergence speed and less communication cost. © 2021 IEEE

In landslide susceptibility prediction using machine learning (ML) models, the selection of appropriate negative samples significantly impacts the accuracy of the predictions. Many existing studies tend to randomly choose negative samples from the entire research area or specific attribute areas such as low slopes, leading to inaccuracies and biases that decrease the reliability of susceptibility mapping. To address this issue, this paper proposes an ML model based on the coupled information value (IV) method for susceptibility modeling. In this approach, the attribute values of environmental factors are transformed into information values, representing their contribution to landslides, using the information quantity method. Very low and low prone areas are then identified based on these information values, and random points are selected from these areas as negative samples for training and verifying subsequent machine learning models, which include the Random Forest (RF) model and Support Vector Machine (SVM) *** study focuses on the Three Gorges reservoir area in the Zigui-Badong area as an example. The comparative analysis of models trained using traditional sampling methods reveals that the RF model and SVM model, which were sampled using the information value method, achieve accuracies of 95.33% and 91.13%, respectively. In contrast, models trained using traditional sampling methods achieve accuracies of 90.43% and 88.69%, respectively.

This paper presents a high-precision control method based on the model-following control (MFC) and equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) approaches. The MFC approach ensures that the output of the plant tracks the output of a desired nominal model. The EID estimates and eliminates an external disturbance. The combination of these two methods effectively achieves high-precision tracking. The validity of this method is demonstrated by a vibration-suppression example through simulations.

This paper proposes a new method to solve the optimal consensus control of discrete-time nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs) under switching topology. To get a time-invariant control object for the switching MASs, a new augment local neighborhood tracking error is defined. Then the hierarchical control strategy is used to decompose the nonlinear consensus problems into two sub-problems, i.e., the tracking problems between individuals and the reference models, and the distributed consensus control among reference models and the leader. For the former, a robust ADHDP method is used to make the states of the follower track that of the reference model. For the latter, the value iteration method is used to derive the distributed optimal reference control. A simulation is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In industrial facilities, alarm systems are essential for process monitoring. However, due to the simplicity of alarm configuration and the poor performance of the alarm system, alarm floods often happen. Similarity analysis of alarm floods compares alarm flood sequences to look for common patterns. These patterns can offer information that is helpful in identifying root causes of alarm floods. Existing methods for alarm flood similarity analysis can only conduct similarity measures based on match operations for alarms represented by text strings; as a result, the match operations ignore the correlations between alarm occurrences. In this work, a new alarm flood similarity analysis method based on word embedding and Move-Split-Merge (MSM) distance is proposed, in order to reveal sequence similarity from a new perspective. The contributions are mainly twofold: 1) The correlations of alarm occurrences are considered in the alarm encoding via word embedding; 2) The MSM distance is calculated to analyze the similarity of alarm flood sequences of different lengths. Then, clustering results are compared with the original true labels of the alarm floods. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by a case study with alarm data generated by a public industrial model of the Vinyl Acetate Monomer process.

In this paper, the fixed-time stabilization of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system with discrete time delays and external disturbances is investigated via sliding-mode control. Firstly, a suitable controller and sliding-mode surface are designed. After that, by means of Lyapunov functions and inequality technique, state variables of T-S fuzzy system can achieve the designed sliding-mode surface in a fixed time, then keep on it. Finally, the validity of theoretical results is supported by two numerical examples. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper presents an adaptive equivalent-input-disturbance(AEID)approach that contains a new adjustable gain to improve disturbance-rejection performance.A linear matrix inequality is derived to design the parameters of a control *** adaptive law for the adjustable gain is presented based on the combination of the root locus method and Lyapunov stability theory to guarantee the stability of the AEID-based *** adjustable gain is limited in an allowable range and the information for adjusting is obtained from the state of the *** results show that the method is effective and robust.A comparison with the conventional EID approach demonstrates the validity and superiority of the method.

With the rapid development and widespread application of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), IMU-based human localization has become critically important in environments lacking Global Navigation Satellite systems (GNSS) signals. Methods such as UWB/WIFI and other anchor-based localization have been employed to enhance the positioning accuracy. However, these methods are susceptible to the environmental interference and increased costs. In contrast, SINS-based localization methods eliminate reliance on the external data. However, this method can suffer from drift errors due to cumulative integration errors. Inertial navigation error correction techniques like Zero Detection Update Technology (ZUPT) provide potential solutions to address drift errors. This paper proposes an error correction method based on the multithreshold zero-velocity detection and Square Root Cubature Kalman Filter (SRCKF) updates. Compared to the single fixed threshold detection, the multi-threshold zero-velocity detection reduces the likelihood of missed zero velocity detection and false alarms, providing accurate time intervals for error correction. Experimental results demonstrate that the SRCKF-based algorithm reduces position deviation to approximately 0.3146 meters, corresponding to an error ratio of1.14%. The proposed method enables cost-effective and accurate pedestrian localization, driving advancements in the field. © 2023 IEEE.

In dynamic optimization problems where optimal solutions change over time, traditional ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithms face limitations. This study explores the adaptation of multi-colony ACO algorithms, known for their enhanced search capabilities in stationary problems, to tackle optimization problems in dynamic environments. Various strategies for exchanging information between colonies, which is a critical factor influencing algorithm performance, are investigated. Using the dynamic traveling salesman problem as a foundation, we generate test cases to reflect real-world complexities. Our results on a set of problem instances reveal that the choice of communication strategy between colonies significantly impacts the adaptability and efficiency of multi-colony ACO algorithms in tracking moving optimum.

In this paper, recursive least-squares linear estimation algorithms are proposed for stochastic systems influenced by uniform quantization, random access protocol (RAP) and deception attacks. With the purpose of enhancing communication efficiency and reducing unnecessary data collisions, RAP is adopted to schedule data signal transmissions that are also subject to deception attacks. In order to alleviate the side effect of missing information caused by RAP, three compensation strategies (zero-input, zero-order hold and prediction-compensation) are utilized. By resorting to an innovation method, covariance-based filters are designed and then fixed-point smoothers are obtained in light of available observations. Finally, a simulation experiment with comparisons is employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed recursive estimation schemes, where the influence of attack probabilities on estimation accuracy is evaluated. © 1991-2012 IEEE.
