Reliable fault diagnosis is of practical significance for process safety in modern industrial facilities. This article proposes a data-driven fault diagnosis method based on multi-feature fusion and broad learning. The contributions are twofold: First, a systematic multi-feature extraction approach is presented to extract long-term trend features, short-term trend features, and binary-valued alarm signals; second, a broad learning system based fault diagnosis method is proposed to diagnose faults based on multi-feature fusion and to update the diagnosis model in an incremental manner. The proposed method has a strong nonlinear modeling capability and can also update the diagnosis model incrementally when unseen fault types are detected. The efficacy of the proposed method is demonstrated by simulations with the benchmark Tennessee Eastman (TE) process.

Under an abnormal situation in process operations, it is important to find out the root cause, so as to bring the system back to normal timely. In a typical modern industrial facility, there are configured a large number of alarms. Usually, the presence and propagation of a fault may lead to a series of alarms, which hold certain correlations. Therefore, analyzing alarm correlations can help to track the prorogation of faults among alarm variables and thus find out the root cause. This paper proposes a systematic alarm root cause analysis method based on the detection of correlations and time delays between alarm variables. First, two types of alarm correlations based on time stamps of alarm events are defined and the calculation methods are provided. Then, alarms are determined to be correlated or not by comparing with designed thresholds. Last, a causal matrix is formed to present the causal relations between alarms based on the directions of time delays. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by both a numerical example and the benchmark Tennessee Eastman model.

Microwave filters are the core frequency selection device in 5G base station, which play an important role in the field of communication. The errors of design and processing of microwave filter make it difficult to meet the specific requirements of frequency selection, thus the tuning process before delivery is significant. However, the tuning process relies heavily on skilled workers, resulting in low tuning efficiency and high cost. The automatic tuning method based on fuzzy logic does not depend on the model and has strong applicability. It has great practical value to the production trend of multi-variety, small batch and customization of microwave filters. In this paper, a variable universe adaptive fuzzy tuning method is proposed. First, intelligent optimal contraction-expansion factors based on fuzzy inference are proposed according to expert knowledge. Then, the input universe and output universe are multiplied, and the initial rule is transformed into more effective new rules through the transformation which is adaptive to the variable universe. Last, the effectiveness of the proposed tuning method is verified by simulations.

This paper investigates the stability of linear systems with two additive time-varying delays. Firstly, an augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional(LKF) is constructed by introducing a novel augmented term which contains the derivative of state vector into integral terms. Then the extended reciprocally convex matrix inequality together with the Wirtinger integral inequality is used to estimate the derivative of the proposed LKF. As a result, a stability criterion with less conservatism is established. Finally, the advantage of the stability criterion is demonstrated through a numerical example and the application of the stability criterion to stability analysis of load frequency control is illustrated.

In the process of steel plate production, predicting the plate shape is of great significance for producing high-quality and consistently stable plate shapes. This paper presents a model that predicts both the defect types and flatness of the plate, providing theoretical support for setting process parameters in roller quenching production. First, the parameters of the quenching process are analyzed to identify their characteristics. Then, the K-Means clustering algorithm and correlation analysis are employed to process the quenching process parameters. A gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) model is used to predict the defect types and flatness of the steel plates. Finally, industrial production data is utilized for experimental validation. The obtained experimental results verify the reliability of the proposed method.

Psychological resistance can express the change of the client's psychological state, which is considered to be an important factor affecting psychological counseling. This paper proposed a method of psychological resistance recognition based on acoustic features extraction. The method includes three main steps, i.e., statistical acoustic feature extraction, feature selection, and classification. Our method uses statistical acoustic features to express psychological resistance, and analyzes the application value of high correlation features obtained from feature selection in the recognition of different psychological resistance. This method can be used to determine the high correlation features of psychological resistance adaptively, and avoid the deficiency of subjective judgment. A speech database of psychological resistance is built for research needs, in which three psychological consultants and four subjects are involved in psychological counseling with 1200 sentences in speech. The experimental results verified the effectiveness of our method.

With the rapid advances in computer vision, human action recognition has gradually received attention, but the current methods still exhibit some problems in indoor environments. The human skeleton, as the framework of human motion, contains high-quality actional feature information, and the skeleton-based action recognition method effectively avoid the interference of interior background noise and has advantages in indoor action recognition. The outstanding effect of graph convolutional networks on graph structure data processing has led to its rapid development and wide application in skeleton-based action recognition. Second-order skeletal information also contains a large number of actional features but is not effectively utilized. The artificial predefined topology of the human skeleton map has limitations, and cannot reflect the interaction between limbs. To solve the above problems, this article designs an adaptive weighted multi-stream graph convolutional network (AM-GCN) based on skeletal information, using an attention mechanism to enhance the network's ability to extract actional features, and an adaptive layer to make the construction graph more flexible, incorporating second-order skeletal features through a dual-stream architecture. In this article, the NTU-RGB+D dataset has been used for the experiments, the results show that the method in this article has good results.

As one of the important tasks in the field of robotics and machine vision, LiDAR/visual odometry provides tremendous help for various applications such as navigation, location, etc. In the existing methods, LiDAR odometry shows superior performance, but visual odometry is still widely used for its price advantage. Conventionally, the task of visual odometry mainly rely on the input of continuous images. However, it is very complicated for the odometry network to learn the epipolar geometry information provided by the images. In this paper, the concept of pseudo-LiDAR is introduced into the odometry to solve this problem. The pseudo-LiDAR point cloud back-projects the depth map generated by the image into the 3D point cloud, which changes the way of image representation. Compared with the stereo images, the pseudo-LiDAR point cloud generated by the stereo matching network can get the explicit 3D coordinates. Since the 6 Degrees of Freedom (DoF) pose transformation occurs in 3D space, the 3D structure information provided by the pseudo-LiDAR point cloud is more direct than the image. Compared with sparse LiDAR, the pseudo-LiDAR has a denser point cloud. In order to make full use of the rich point cloud information provided by the pseudo-LiDAR, a projection-aware dense odometry pipeline is adopted. Most previous LiDAR-based algorithms sampled 8192 points from the point cloud as input to the odometry network. The projection-aware dense odometry pipeline takes all the pseudo-LiDAR point clouds generated from the images except for the error points as the input to the network. While making full use of the 3D geometric information in the images, the semantic information in the images is also used in the odometry task. The fusion of 2D-3D is achieved in an image-only based odometry. Experiments on the KITTI dataset prove the effectiveness of our method. In this letter, leader-following consensus of a nonlinear MASs satisfying Lipschitz conditions with partial actuator saturation constraints is investigated First of all, an impulse control protocol which only requires local information of agents and their neighbors is proposed. Then, using Lyapunov stability theory, impulse control theory, and algebraic graph theory, sufficient conditions for the consensus of multi-agent systems are provided. Ultimately, numerical simulations are employed to show that the research findings are accurate.

This paper proposes an intelligent "Cell Potential and Motion Pattern driven Coverage (CPMPC)" algorithm to solve a cooperative coverage path planning problem for multiple robots in two-dimensional target environment. The target environment is divided into cell areas according to the detection range of robot, and the cell matrix is given correspondingly. The values in the cell matrix are defined as cell potential, which represents the number of times each cell is detected by robots. The priority of the robot’s neighbor cell is called the motion pattern. At different moments, robots can choose within different motion patterns. Genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize the combination of motion patterns. By taking account obstacle avoidance and collision avoidance into consideration, the CPMPC algorithm adopts a double-layer choice strategy driven by cell potential and motion pattern to generate the next waypoint. Furthermore, this algorithm contains two optimal strategies: avoiding collision and jumping out of the detected area. Compared with the pattern-based genetic algorithm, the results obtained by us show that the CPMPC algorithm could solve the multi-robot coverage path planning (MCPP) problem effectively with guarantee of complete coverage, and improved makespan. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
