Infrared and visible image fusion technology helps to improve the spatial resolution. It mainly preserves the features and details of the source images and generates a fusion image with visual enhancement. In this paper, based on the gradient features and intensity information of the source images, an optimization model for image fusion is built. Firstly, the pre-fused gradient of the source images is obtained by combining the structure tensor and the proposed local gradient similarity, where local gradient similarity is used to make the fused gradient direction more accurately. Secondly, the source images are reconstructed into salient and non-salient images according to the comparison of the pixel intensity. A weight map before the non-salient image in the optimization model makes the effective details preserved, so that the pre-fused images consist of the salient image and the non-salient image with a weight map. Finally, an optimization model is constructed to constrain the gradient and intensity of the final fused image close to the pre-fused gradient and the pre-fused images. The final fused image is obtained from solving the optimization model by use of the variational method. The experimental results are evaluated from subjective and objective assessments, which show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Nowadays PV systems is suffering from two main problems: high production cost and low efficiency especially under variable weather conditions. Therefore, to reduce such associated problems, PV systems are being connected with various optimization controllers such as maximum power point tracking. In this paper, an artificial neural network maximum power point method has been designed to be linked between a PV system and DC-DC buck converter, and each part of the system is fully explained. The whole system was modeled under MATLAB/Simulink environment, simulation results demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed method. The proposed method has been examined to track the maximum power point under different weather conditions which shows a rapid and accurate tracking of the maximum power point(MPP) of PV system. The whole system which consists of PV arrays, Buck converter, ANN tracker, and load has been modeled using MATLAB/Simulink environment. This Simulink model has been examined using different levels of temperature and irradiation and the output results of both P-V and I-V characteristics, output power, and the system efficiency clearly demonstrate the validation of the modeled system. This demonstration has been done by comparing between the result of experimental platform and the results of simulated model which approves that ANN is highly recommended to be used in the field of maximum power point tracking of PV system.

With the large-scale application of wind power, the wind power prediction has been highlighted. In order to improve the prediction accuracy of wind power and ensure the resource utilization rate, a wind power prediction method based on support vector machine regression and particle swarm optimization based on multi-source NWP (numerical weather prediction) is proposed. Firstly, the SVR (support vector regression) algorithm is introduced to model the multi-source wind speed data, which can effectively extract the main features and improve the wind speed prediction accuracy. Then, the PSO (particle swarm optimization) is used to model the historical predicted power data and the actual power data for power prediction. Finally, the proposed approach provides wind power forecasts for future 1 day in steps of 15 min. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by experiments on wind farms and the results show that the proposed method is more accurate and effective than SVR. © ISCIIA and ITCA 2018 - 8th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Applications and 12th China-Japan International Workshop on Information Technology and control Application.

The privacy issues become a major problem that should be resolved for the existing centralized online social networks, which have prompted researchers to consider the decentralization framework for online social networks. In this paper, we propose a novel decentralized social networking architecture enhanced by blockchain technology. We use a sharding framework to increase the system scalability, a blockchain system to ensure the data integrity and consistency, a reputation-based authority control method to improve the system security. © 2019 IEEE.

Large-scale 3D Semantic Mapping Using Stereo Vision

In recent years, there have been a lot of interests in incorporating semantics into simultaneous localization and mapping （SLAM） systems. This paper presents an approach to generate an outdoor large-scale 3D dense semantic map based on binocular stereo vision. The inputs to system are stereo color images from a moving vehicle. First, dense 3D space around the vehicle is constructed, and tile motion of camera is estimated by visual odometry. Meanwhile, semantic segmentation is performed through the deep learning technology online, and the semantic labels are also used to verify tim feature matching in visual odometry. These three processes calculate the motion, depth and semantic label of every pixel in the input views. Then, a voxel conditional random field （CRF） inference is introduced to fuse semantic labels to voxel. After that, we present a method to remove the moving objects by incorporating the semantic labels, which improves the motion segmentation accuracy. The last is to generate tile dense 3D semantic map of an urban environment from arbitrary long image sequence. We evaluate our approach on KITTI vision benchmark, and the results show that the proposed method is effective.

To improve the accuracy of the grasping detection, this paper proposes a novel detector with batch normalization masked evaluation model. It is designed with a two-layer sparse autoencoder, and a Batch Normalization based mask is incorporated into the second layer of the model to effectively reduce the features with weak correlation. The extracted features from such model are more distinctive, which guarantees the higher accuracy of the grasping detection. Extensive experiments show that the proposed evaluation model outperforms the state-of- the-art, and the recognition accuracy can reach 95.51% for robotic grasping detection.

The reconstruction of surface mesh from point cloud is compute-intensive but also very important step in the remanufacturing and personalization industries. With more 3D scanners providing lower cost and higher resolution, further detailed point clouds can be gathered without so much effort as before. In manufacturing, there are databases which contain the origin 3D design models of the products. How to utilize the design model data for swift production of related products remains a problem for remanufacturing and customization. In order to develop a knowledge-based way of handling this problem, editing or deforming an existing mesh to match the target is an effective way of easing the workload. In this paper, we introduce a divide-and -conquer process which segments the depth scan data and then find the best match in the database as its source of deformation. The segmentation is performed on 3D point level using global features extracted by 3D CNN. After that we find best match to our knowledge with the same features to acquire a fast meshing of the target object by deforming the existing parts from the match. The deformation of parts are being done sequentially. For further performance improvement, we present a deformation training method employing transfer learning on segment editing process.

The grid-connected three-phase inverter is an indispensable part of the microgrid. The droop control is widely used in parallel inverters for high reliability and flexibility. The output impedance of droop controlled inverters plays an vital role in its stability. However, the sequence impedance model of grid-connected inverter is currently based on the grid side converter with a single current loop control exdluding the low-frequency dynamics similar in doubly fed induction generators. Both the droop control and voltage loop control greatly affect the stability of inverter, specifically in the low frequency response. This paper proposes a sequence impedance model of inverter, which considers the droop control and voltage and current dual closed-loop control using the harmonic linearization method in the frequency domain. The accuracy of the model is verified through comparing the measurement impedance value in simulation with the impedance value calculated in the sequence impedance model. The influence of control method on system impedance is verified by showing the difference between the single loop controlled inverter and droop control inverter.

The microphone array speech enhancement algorithm (MASEA), the minimum mean square error algorithm for short-time logarithmic spectrum estimation based on voice activity detection (VAD-LSA-MMSE), and the Wiener filtering algorithm based on voice activity detection (VAD-Wiener) are currently the three most commonly used speech enhancement algorithms. Among them, the MASEA algorithm has some disadvantages such as poor noise reduction effect. VAD-LSA-MMSE algorithm has some disadvantages of relying on high SNR and introducing music noise, thereby reducing the intelligibility. The VAD-Wiener algorithm has some disadvantages such as higher SNR requirements. Aiming at the shortcomings of these three speech enhancement algorithms, based on the VAD algorithm and the MASEA algorithm, this paper proposed a new speech enhancement algorithm by combining the characteristics of Wiener filtering algorithm and LSA-MMSE algorithm. The new speech enhancement algorithm is a VAD-based microphone array speech enhancement algorithm (VAD-MASEA). VAD-MASEA is better than the other three algorithms in noise reduction, speech enhancement and voice intelligibility, and has the characteristics of adapting to a lower SNR environment. This paper used MATLAB to carry out experimental research, including the new algorithm and the three existing algorithms were simulated and compared the signal waveforms of the four algorithms. Experimental results show that the proposed VAD-MASEA algorithm overcomes the high SNR requirement and can be used in low SNR environments and obtain highly intelligible enhanced signals.

Musical staff lines detection and removal, the first step of most Optical Music Recognition (OMR) technology, aims to detect staff positions and segment score image by removing those staff lines. To deal with issues that the disappearance of thin staff lines in the captured score image, line repaired algorithm based on music rules is proposed in this paper. It first estimates two reference lengths, staff width and space between two adjacent lines. Then projection is used to obtain potential staves positions. At least the staves are finally determined based on line repaired algorithm, the missing lines repaired and the redundant lines deleted at the same time. The proposed technique is simple and effective, making full use of global information of the musical scores. Experimental results show that our method achieves impressive results on music score images captured from cameras.
