The real-time state estimation becomes greatly important with the wide application of phasor measurement unit (PMU) in distributed generation (DG) for wide-area measurement systems (WAMS). In view of estimation, particle filter (PF) is capable of providing the best performance but at the cost of heavy computation burden. Besides, the growing grid size sustainably boosts the amount of data communication from PMU, causing the congestion. An event-trigger master-slave nonlinear filter (ET-MSNF) is proposed to guarantee the estimation accuracy and get the communication bandwidth relieved. The local slave filter at the generator node carries out the local estimation and event-trigger strategy using unscented transformation, which is identical to the center slave. The master filter at the center is designed using Monte Carlo method to improve the center's estimation accuracy by the cooperation with the center slave. Such master-slave filtering structure can fully utilize the computation capability both at the center and node. Simulation on the standard IEEE 39-bus system verify the performance of ET-MSNF.

In this paper, a model is constructed to investigate the mechanism induced quorum sensing (QS) by coexisting of small RNA and signal molecule. The QS network model regulated by small RNAs is studied. The condition of the stability of the QS network is considered by using Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion. The conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation are obtained. Then, a linear feedback control is designed to make the system asymptotically stable. The numerical simulation is used to verify the results of theoretical analysis.

With increasing popularity of Internet of Vehicles (IoV), concerns for reliable and low complexity communication techniques are proposed due to the requirements of signal reliability and transmission delay for vehicles. Meanwhile, the explosive and pervasive use of social network applications further adds drivers' social relationships and behavioural characteristics into it, and makes it a cyber-physical-social system (CPSS). This paper proposes and analyzes an improved forward scheme for full deplex cooperative vehicular networks in terms of its CPSS features. The proposed CPSS-based forwarding (CPSS-F) strategy forwards a soft estimate of the received signal based on social historic data at the relay node (vehicle/infrastructure) to the destination node (vehicle/infrastructure), which achieves improved reliability than the two conventional strategies in cooperative networks, i.e., amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF). Furthermore, the proposed CPSS-F relay achieves performance gains and complexity reduction compared to the conventional AF and DF. Experimental results further confirm the advantages of the proposed CPSS-F for cooperative vehicular networks. The proposed CPSS-F approach is easily extended to other cooperative vehicular social networks, for example, multi-way, half-duplex, or large-antenna networks. © 2018 IEEE.

This paper proposes an improvement to the Page Rank algorithm. Most existing Page Rank algorithms expect a strong correlation among consecutively accessed webpages, which in reality should be a fuzzy relationship when a user accesses pages on an arbitrarily basis. We mine data from search-behavior logs by analyzing chronological sequential patterns, and cluster all webpages using fuzzy C clustering. The weight of each cluster is identified with information entropy, which is then used to adjust the average weight. A sample of 1 million pages is used for testing. Compared with traditional Page Rank, the new algorithm decreases search time by 34.83% and increases search accuracy by 41.88%;when compared with HITS, the improvements are 31.82% and 64.04% respectively.

Data-driven artificial intelligence technologies have made much progress in medical image analysis in the last decades. However, it still remains challenging due to its distinctive complexity of acquiring and annotating image data, extracting medical domain knowledge, and explaining the diagnostic decision for medical image analysis. In this paper, we propose a data-knowledge-driven framework termed as Parallel Medical Imaging (PMI) for intelligent medical image analysis based on the methodology of interactive ACP-based parallel intelligence. In the PMI framework, computational experiments with predictive learning in a data-driven way are conducted to extract medical knowledge for diagnostic decision support. Artificial imaging systems are introduced to select and prescriptively generate medical image data in a knowledge-driven way to utilize medical domain knowledge. Through the closed-loop optimization based on parallel execution, our proposed PMI framework can boost the generalization ability and alleviate the limitation of medical interpretation for diagnostic decisions. Furthermore, we illustrate the preliminary implementation of PMI method through the case studies of mammogram analysis and skin lesion image analysis. Drivers' decision and their corresponding behaviors are important aspects that can affect the driving safety, and it is necessary to understand the driver behaviors in real-time. In this study, an end-to-end driving-related tasks recognition system is proposed. Specifically, seven common driving activities are identified, which are normal driving, right mirror checking, rear mirror checking, left mirror checking, using in-vehicle video device, texting, and answering mobile phone. Among these, the first four activities are regarded as normal driving tasks, while the rest three are divided into distraction group. The images are collected using a consumer range camera, namely, Kinect. In total, five drivers are involved in the naturalistic data collection. Before training the identification model, the raw images are first segmented using a Gaussian mixture model (GMM) to extract the driver region from the background. Then, a pre-trained deep convolutional neural network (CNN) model is trained to classify the behaviors, which directly takes the processed RGB images as the input and outputs the identified label. In this work, the AlexNet is selected as the pre-trained CNN model. Then, to reduce the training cost, the transfer learning mechanism is applied to the CNN model. An average of 79% detection accuracy is achieved for the seven driving tasks. The proposed integration model can be used as a low-cost driver distraction and dangerous tasks recognition modeL.

Trajectory reshaping based guidance with impact time and angle constraints

This study presents a novel impact time and angle constrained guidance law for homing missiles. The guidance law is first developed with the prior-assumption of a stationary target, which is followed by the practical extension to a maneuvering target scenario. To derive the closed-form guidance law, the trajectory reshaping technique is utilized and it results in defining a specific polynomial function with two unknown coefficients. These coefficients are determined to satisfy the impact time and angle constraints as well as the zero miss distance. Furthermore, the proposed guidance law has three additional guidance gains as design parameters which make it possible to adjust the guided trajectory according to the operational conditions and missile's capability. To ensure that people can supplement enough water at the right time, an initiative service method based on intention understanding for drinking service robot is proposed. Firstly, individual factors and environmental factors which are associated with personal intentions are collected. Secondly, users' intention and desire degree for intention are obtained by an improved Fuzzy-Context-specific Intention Inference method. Then the relationship between personal intention and human demands is established by an initiative service model. Finally, robots provide drinking water service initiatively according to humans' demands. Drinking service experiments are performed in a laboratory scenario using a humans-robots interaction system. The experimental results show that the drinking time of actual situation lags behind the initiative service time 25 minutes on average, and the initiative service renders drinking service 2 times more than actual situation on average, which demonstrates the feasibility of the proposal. In prospect, the initiative service method could be applied to many occasions in our daily life, e.g., family service, caring for the elderly, and medical rehabilitation.

The rapid development of the Cloud Computing Technologies (CCTs) has amended the conventional design of resource-constrained Network control System (NCS) to the powerful and flexible design of Cloud-Based Networked control System (CB-NCS) by relocating the processing part to the cloud server. This arrangement has produced many internets based exquisite applications. However, this new arrangement has also raised many network security challenges for the cloud-based control system related to cyber-physical part of the system. In the absence of robust verification methodology, an attacker can launch the modification attack in order to destabilize or take control of NCS. It is desirable that there shall be a solution authentication methodology used to verify whether the incoming solutions are coming from the cloud or not. This paper proposes a methodology used for the verification of the receiving solution to the local control system from the cloud using Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions, which is then applied to actuator after verification and thus ensure the stability in case of modification attack.

In recent years, cyber-physical systems (CPSs) have received much attention from both the academic world and the industrial world, which refer to a deep integration and coordination of physical and computational resources [1,2]. Typical examples of CPSs can be found in smart grids, smart transportation systems, industrial control systems, water supply systems, and so on. Furthermore, many military systems are also CPSs. The key characteristic of CPSs is the integration of computing, control and communication. The increased interconnection between the cyber and physical spaces make CPSs vulnerable to various malicious attacks. A well-known example of an attack of CPSs is the Stuxnet which infected the control system of nuclear-fuel centrifuges of Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. Stuxnet makes people beware of the grave consequences of a cyber-attack on a CPS. Since many national critical infrastructures are applications of CPS, ensuring security and safety of such systems is of great importance.
