This paper presents an interactive motion control method based on reinforcement learning, designed to assist children with autism who have social motor impairments through a mirror game intervention. The virtual teacher uses the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) algorithm to optimize its actions, guiding the participant to follow a Lissajous trajectory. To ensure safety, a motion-correction mechanism was developed, which automatically adjusts actions when the predicted trajectory surpasses predefined safety boundaries. The reward function considers both the distance between the virtual teacher and the target trajectory, as well as the distance between the virtual teacher and the participant, with dynamic adjustments applied by the motion-correction mechanism. Experimental results demonstrate that the virtual teacher effectively guides the participant towards the target trajectory while adhering to safety constraints.

In recent years, the semantic segmentation of 3D point cloud has received increasing attention the field of computer vision, because 3D point cloud can better reflect our 3D space. Because of the unstructured and disordered characteristics of 3D point cloud data, semantic segmentation of point cloud is still a difficult task. Our network automatically learns the importance of feature channels by adding a channel attention module, which enables the network to obtain better training results. After the channel attention module is fused, the important channels in the features are enhanced, and the unimportant channels are suppressed, making the network training more efficient. In this paper, we propose an indoor point cloud semantic segmentation method combined with channel attention mechanism. The experimental results show that our method achieves better results than other methods.

The rational design of weighting factors in the cost function for finite control set model predictive torque control (FCS-MPTC) has been a matter of great interest in power electronics and electrical drives. In order to solve this problem, a weighting factors autotuning strategy for FCS-MPTC of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) based on the adaptive multi-objective black hole algorithm (AMOBH) is proposed. In this paper, the design process of the FCS-MPTC algorithm is first analyzed in detail. Then, an AMOBH algorithm that can take into account both population convergence and population diversity is introduced, and based on this algorithm, the design problem of the weighting factors is successfully transformed into a multi-objective optimization problem by means of reconstructing the cost function and designing the motor operation information collected in real time as the objective functions of the multi-objective optimization algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed method can find a set of weighting factor combinations suitable for different working condition requirements, and these weighting factors can effectively improve the operation performance of the PMSM system.

A three-dimensional (3D) thermal lattice Boltzmann model of crystal growth is presented to study the magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) mixed convection in the melt of Czochralski silicon single crystal growth in this paper. In order to solve the problem of lattice Boltzmann method's difficulty in solving the flow of 3D cylindrical cavity, the 3D physical model of crystal growth is transformed from the Cartesian coordinate system to the Curvilinear coordinate system. And the irregular grids in the Cartesian coordinate system are transformed into regular grids in the Curvilinear coordinate system to facilitate the establishment of the Lattice Boltzmann model. Under the above operations, two coupled distribution functions are established to solve the governing equations. Two D3Q19 models are adopted to solve the melt velocity and temperature. And the 3D lattice Boltzmann modeling of crystal growth with cylinder boundary is realized by interpolation in Curvilinear coordinate system. The comparison with the experiment and other references proves that the proposed model and boundary treatment scheme is correct and it proposes a new way for studying the 3D crystal growth or other similar 3D cylindrical cavity simulations. Furthermore, the unstable melt flow for two cases are also simulated in this paper and the critical Reynolds number are also obtained. Results show that the introduction of the transverse magnetic field enhances the stability of the crystal growth system and increases the adjustable range of crystal rotation parameter. The obtained conclusion has an important reference for adjusting the process parameters during the CZ crystal growth. © 2024 The Author(s)

High temperature rise of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor can lead to irreversible demagnetization of the motor permanent magnet, which can negatively affect the motor performance. To address this problem, a thermal modeling analysis method based on Transfer learning-Deep neural network (TL-DNN) was proposed in this paper. Its specific implementation steps include (1) corresponding to different heat source inputs, the equivalent thermal circuit method and the finite element analysis was adopted based on the structure and main parameters of PMLSM including overall average temperature rise, coil temperature rise and permanent magnet temperature rise from the data sets of the motor; (2) TL-DNN was used to fit the functional relationship between the input source features and the output targets based on the characteristics of the sample data sets. In order to verify the accuracy of the prediction model with small sample data sets, this paper divided the proportion of the data set and compared the results with other classic nonparametric models (random forest, support vector machine, and deep neural network). The results show that the TL-DNN model outperforms other machine learning models and has better robustness and generalization ability when the training datasets are insufficient, and achieves an organic combination of physical field path model and data-driven model, which provides a feasible solution for PMLSM modeling in the case of small samples.

The tracker based on Siamese neural network is currently a technical method with high accuracy in the tracking *** the introduction of transformer in the visual tracking field, the attention mechanism has gradually emerged in tracking ***, due to the characteristics of attention operation, Transformer usually has slow convergence speed, and its pixel-level correlation discrimination in tracking is more likely to lead to overfitting, which is not conducive to long-term tracking. A brand new framework FAT was designed, which is the improvement of MixFormer. The operation for simultaneous feature extraction and target information integration in MixFormer is retained, and the Mixing block is introduced to suppress the background as much as possible before the information interaction. In addition, a new operation is designed: the result of region-level crosscorrelation is used as a guidance to help the learning of pixel-level cross-correlation in attention, thereby accelerating the model convergence speed and enhancing the model generalization. Finally, a joint loss function is designed to further improve the accuracy of the model. Experiments show that the presented tracker achieves excellent performance on five benchmark datasets.

The combined control of variable speed and variable displacement is a new type of volume control with high efficiency and fast response. However, due to the inherent nonlinearity of multiplication, it brings certain difficulties to the control. The electric double-variable pump[1] is a dual-input single-output system, and it is a nonlinear system[2]. It is necessary to linearize the system or use a nonlinear control method to control and solve the control problem of the system. In this paper, an intelligent control rule is proposed for the nonlinear problem of double input and single output. Through backstepping design[3], the nonlinear system is transformed into multiple linear subsystems. Then the original system is turned into two independent subsystems with single input and single output, which are controlled separately. The co-simulation platform based on AMESIM and Simulink[4] has been verified and compared with a single PID control algorithm to simulate the step response and sinusoidal tracking performance of the system. The results show that the response speed of the system has been greatly improved.

Canine EEG Helps Human: Cross-Species and Cross-Modality Epileptic Seizure Detection via Multi-Space Alignment

Epilepsy significantly impacts global health, affecting about 65 million people worldwide, along with various animal species. The diagnostic processes of epilepsy are often hindered by the transient and unpredictable nature of seizures. Here we propose a multi-space alignment approach based on cross-species and cross-modality electroencephalogram (EEG) data to enhance the detection capabilities and understanding of epileptic seizures. By employing deep learning techniques, including domain adaptation and knowledge distillation, our framework aligns cross-species and cross-modality EEG signals to enhance the detection capability beyond traditional within-species and within-modality models. Experiments on multiple surfaces and intracranial EEG datasets of humans and canines demonstrated substantial improvements in detection accuracy, achieving over 90% AUC scores for cross-species and cross-modality seizure detection with extremely limited labeled data from the target species/modality. To our knowledge, this is the first study that demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating heterogeneous data from different species and modalities to improve EEG-based seizure detection performance. This is a pilot study that provides insights into the challenges and potential of multi-species and multi-modality data integration, offering an effective solution for future work to collect huge EEG data to train large brain models. © 2024, CC BY.

Decision-Making and Path Planning for Highway Autonomous Driving Based on Spatio-Temporal Lane-Change Gaps

Safe and efficient decision-making and path planning is a challenging problem for autonomous driving in highway because of numerous dynamic vehicles around the ego-vehicle. For ego-vehicle driving on structured roads, behavioral decisions tend to pay more attention to the relative distribution of its surrounding vehicles, while path planning based on the decision requires more detailed consideration of vehicle model and lane curvature. Therefore, these two modules are separated in our article and executed successively in different coordinate systems. Specifically, we create a decision topology for lane changing or following decision based on spatio-temporal lane-change gaps in relative moving coordinate, which consists of the node representing the gap and the edges representing the connectivity between two gaps. Combining the decision topology with the behaviors of surrounding dynamic vehicles, a local cost map is generated and the target decision gap is selected. Once the decision is done, a smooth and safe trajectory from the ego-vehicle to the target decision gap, that satisfies the constraints of acceleration and curvature, is obtained in the geodetic coordinate through polynomial trajectory generation. The real-time performance and effectiveness of this method were verified in the dynamic high-speed interaction scenarios. © 2007-2012 IEEE.
