Multimodal information-based broad and deep learning model（MIBDL） for emotion understanding is proposed, in which facial expression and body gesture are used to achieve emotional states recognition for emotion understanding. It aims to understand coexistence multimodal information in human-robot interaction by using different processing methods of deep network and broad network, which obtains the features of depth and width dimensions. Moreover, random mapping in the initial broad learning network could cause information loss and its shallow layer network is difficult to cope with complex tasks. To address this problem, we use principal component analysis to generate the nodes of the broad learning, and the stacked broad learning network is adapted to make it easier for the existing broad learning networks to cope with complex tasks by creating deep variations of the existing network. To verify the effectiveness of the proposal, experiments completed on benchmark database of spontaneous emotion expressions are developed, and experimental results show that the proposal outperforms the state-of-theart methods. According to the simulation experiments on the FABO database, by using the proposed method, the multimodal recognition rate is 17,54%, 1.24%, and 0.23% higher than those of the temporal normalized motion and appearance features（TN）,the multi-channel CNN（MCCNN）, and the hierarchical classification fusion strategy（HCFS）, respectively.

TFDPM: Attack detection for cyber-physical systems with diffusion probabilistic models

With the development of AIoT, data-driven attack detection methods for cyber-physical systems (CPSs) have attracted lots of attention. However, existing methods usually adopt tractable distributions to approximate data distributions, which are not suitable for complex systems. Besides, the correlation of the data in different channels does not attract sufficient attention. To address these issues, we use energy-based generative models, which are less restrictive on functional forms of the data distribution. In addition, graph neural networks are used to explicitly model the correlation of the data in different channels. In the end, we propose TFDPM, a general framework for attack detection tasks in CPSs. It simultaneously extracts temporal pattern and feature pattern given the historical data. Then extract features are sent to a conditional diffusion probabilistic model. Predicted values can be obtained with the conditional generative network and attacks are detected based on the difference between predicted values and observed values. In addition, to realize real-time detection, a conditional noise scheduling network is proposed to accelerate the prediction process. Experimental results show that TFDPM outperforms existing state-of-the-art attack detection methods. The noise scheduling network increases the detection speed by three times. To facilitate ground station monitoring and command uploading, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) need to frequently exchange individual state data between units. However, this results in a significant usage of communication bandwidth. To address this issue, on the basis of an event-triggered strategy, this paper proposes an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). aimed at reducing the communication burden of UAVs while maintaining high accuracy. Specifically, a state measurement triggered by an event is selected for filtering only if it contains innovation, thereby reducing the amount of data that needs to be communicated. Since UAV systems are nonlinear, EKF is adopted to fully utilize the information obtained from event-triggered strategies, thereby enhancing the estimation performance. In this paper, a physical UAV was used to verify the proposed algorithm, and it proved to have robust dynamic performance and to effectively reduce the communication rate.

With the development of traffic demand management, crowd flow forecasting arouse increasing interest. In order to tackle this spatial-temporal prediction problem, GNN (Graph Neural Networks) have been recently employed to model spatial dependencies, and usually spatial graphs are constructed based on geodetic distances or direct connections between nodes. However, it might be insufficient for spatial graphs to model real dependencies because they neglect spatial-temporal correlations. In this paper, a novel Temporal-Difference Spatial Sampling and Aggregating graph neural network (TDSSA) is proposed to model spatial-temporal dependencies. Firstly, a new sub-sparse spatial-temporal graph is constructed to represent spatial-temporal relationships among different nodes, then a TDSSA block is designed to extract features by spatial sampling and aggregating, and difference is utilized in TDSSA blocks to exploit temporal trend and increase robustness. Experiments show that the proposed method outperforms baseline methods. © 2021 IEEE.

Fitness landscape analysis (FLA) is quite important in evolutionary computation. In this paper, we propose a novel FLA method, the nearest-better network (NBN), which uses the nearest-better relationship to simplify the original fitness landscape of continuous optimization problems. We introduce an efficient algorithm to calculate NBN for continuous problems. We also propose four numerical measurements and a 3D visualization method based on NBN. Experiments show that compared to the other main FLA methods, the four numerical measurements proposed here can effectively measure the four intended features: neutrality, ruggedness, modality, and basin of attraction, respectively, and common features of the fitness landscape can be maintained in 3D NBN visualization, regardless of the scale of the problem. NBN also provides a view of how algorithms search in high-dimensional problems with the help of the 3D NBN visualization. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

Grinding is an energy-consuming process in mineral processing industry. Improving grinding processing capacity per unit power consumption is an effective means to reduce grinding production cost. In this paper, a new index for evaluating the effective processing throughput of SAG milling is proposed. The production process model is established by BP neural network (BPNN). Through combining the process mechanism and production constraints, the genetic algorithm is adopted to optimize the operating parameters of the SAG milling process to maximize the effective throughput, thus improving the grinding efficiency. The experimental results showed that through optimization of effective throughput function proposed in this paper, the SAG mill processing capacity has been increased by 4% and the operating power drawn reduced by 1.12%. It has important guiding significance for the actual production process.

It is a key issue to reasonably represent human travel and social contact in epidemic models. Various measures were applied to develop the models of human mobility and contact in a long range or a short range, such as Brown movement, random walks, spatial networks, gravity models, contact networks. We proposed a method of representing human daily movement and social contact by using multi-layer networks with temporal edge weights. We combined bipartite networks with social networks to describe human daily trip and social contact, respectively. Temporal edge weights of multi-layer networks were employed to denote the propensity of individual movement and contact. We also verified our models and parameters by incorporating human daily travel and contact regularities, as well as comparing experimental results with human behavior statistical laws. At last, we applied a Chinese university campus as a case study to investigate students' daily travel and social contact, and studied the transmission and control strategies of COVID-19 virus. We found stricter control strategies are needed to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 virus in a university. Once a patient case emerges in a university, it is better to close the campus and quarantine all students. Partial control strategies such as quarantining a part of students and buildings cannot achieve a great effect of mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 virus. Our works are beneficial for the practitioners in the field of computational epidemiology. © 2021 IEEE.

As a representative topic in natural language processing and automated theorem proving, geometry problem solving requires an abstract problem understanding and symbolic reasoning. A major challenge here is to find a feasible reasoning sequence that is consistent with given axioms and the theorems already proved. Most recent methods have exploited neural network-based techniques to automatically discover eligible solving steps. Such a kind of methods, however, is greatly impacted by the expert solutions for training. To improve the accuracy, this paper proposes a new method called counterfactual evolutionary reasoning, which uses a generative adversarial network to generate initial reasoning sequences and then introduces counterfactual reasoning to explore potential solutions. By directly exploring theorem candidates rather than the neural network selection, the new method can sufficiently extend the searching space to get a more appropriate reasoning step. Through comparative experiments on the recent proposed Geometry3k, the largest geometry problem solving dataset, our method generally achieves a higher accuracy than most previous methods, bringing an overall improvement about 4.4% compared with the transformer models.
