To realize drilling visualization, an effective interpolation method is essential to construct three-dimensional model. Kriging is an effective interpolation method commonly used by geologists. However, the variogram model parameters in traditional Kriging have a certain subjectivity, which will influence the accuracy of interpolation. Quantum Genetic Algorithm (QGA) is introduced to optimize the variogram model parameters selection in this paper. Elevation values of boreholes are used as data sets for simulation. The results show that the proposed improved Kriging has a better prediction accuracy.

This paper presents a two-stage position control strategy based on the differential evolution (DE) algorithm for a planar second-order nonholonomic manipulator, which has one passive joint and this passive joint is not the first joint (planar A m PA n manipulator for short, where m ≥ 1, n ≥ 0). An offline DE algorithm is used to calculate all link target angles corresponding to the target position. According to these target angles, a Lyapunov function is constructed to design the controllers A for the control stage 1, which are used to control all active links to their target angles. According to the constraint equation of the planar A m PA n manipulator, an oscillatory trajectory is planned for the first active link based on the online DE algorithm. When the first active link tracks the oscillatory trajectory, it will back to its target angle eventually. Meantime, the passive link will be jointly controlled to its target angle eventually. Then, the other Lyapunov function is constructed to design the controllers B for the control stage 2, which are used to control the first active link tracks the target trajectory and control the remaining m+n-1 active links maintain in their target angles. Simulation results of a planar AAPA manipulator demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

This paper presents a position control strategy based on the iterative method for a planar Pendubot. The control objective of the system is to move the end-point from any initial equilibrium point to a target equilibrium point. The presented method is based on the iterative steering, where a converging control law is applied repeatedly. In order to compute such a control law, the dynamic equations of the system are transformed via partial feedback linearization and nilpotent approximation. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate that the position control objective is realized by using this control strategy.

The multi-point dynamic aggregation (MPDA) is a typical task planning problem. In order to solve the MPDA problem efficiently, a hybrid differential evolution (DE) and estimation of distribution algorithm (EDA) called DE-EDA is proposed in this paper, which combines the merits of DE and EDA. The DE-EDA has been applied to multiple MPDA instances of different scales, and compared with EDA and two versions of DE in convergence speed and solution quality separately. The results demonstrate the DE-EDA can solve the MPDA problem effectively. © 2018 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The sintering process is one of the most energy-consuming processes in steelmaking, its carbon fuel consumption accounts for 8% to 10% in the steel production process. To find ways of reducing the energy consumption, it is necessary to predict the carbon efficiency. The value of CO/CO_2 in the carbon emission can reflect the utilization of carbon combustion in sintering process. In this study, the CO/CO_2 is taken to be a measure of carbon efficiency and a hierarchical model is built to predict it. Firstly, the physical and chemical reactions and the carbon flow mechanism in the sintering process are analyzed, and the process parameters that affect the CO/CO_2 are determined. Then, the gray relational analysis method is used to analyze the influence factors to determine the relationship between the parameters, and a hierarchical predictive model for CO/CO_2 is established based on the relationship between the parameters. The hierarchical predictive model is divided into two parts: the predictive models for the thermal state parameters and the predictive model for CO/CO_2. The inputs of the predictive models for the thermal state parameters are the raw material parameters and the operating parameters, and the inputs of the predictive model for CO/CO_2 are the predicted values of the predictive models for the thermal state parameters. Finally, the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed modeling method. This method can provide a theoretical basis for the optimization and control of carbon efficiency in the sintering process.

In this paper, a new unscented Kalman filter (Unscented Kalman filter, UKF) for nonlinear system with both one-step randomly delayed measurements and colored measurement noises is proposed. Firstly, the first-order Markov sequence model is used to whiten colored noise, at the same time, an independent and identically distributed Bernoulli variable is used to model the delay of measurement data transmission, then the model of nonlinear one-step randomly time delay system with colored noise whitening is established. Secondly, filter recursion formula of UKF under the above model is proposed through unscented transformation (Unscented transformation, UT) to calculate the posterior mean and covariance of the nonlinear state based on the Bayesian filter framework. The proposed new UKF method can effectively deal with the issue that traditional UKF is failure under the condition of one-step randomly delayed measurements and colored measurement noises. The efficiency and superiority of the proposed method are illustrated in a numerical example for a target tracking problem.

Aiming at the problem of image Jacobian matrix estimation, this paper proposes a method to get the motion state estimation of the object feature point at the current time by using the combination of robust Kalman filter and fuzzy adaptive method from the image feature space, and the estimation of the image Jacobian matrix can be obtained. Firstly, an adaptive robust decorrelation Kalman filler algorithm with colored measurement noise is proposed by reconstructing process equation and measurement equation and combining the mathematical characteristics of the standard Kalman filter noise. Secondly, by monitoring if the ratio between theoretical residual and actual residual is near 1, the fuzzy inference system constantly adjust the weighted measurement noise covariance and recursively correct the measurement noise covariance of the adaptive Kalman filter, and thus be able to estimate the position and velocity of the object feature point at the current time in the image space more accurately, then the estimation of image Jacobian matrix can be achieved accurately under unknown dynamic environment. The feasibility and superiority of the proposed method can be verified by the simulation and experimental results.

Facial expression recognition (FER) plays an important role in human-machine interaction. An assistant robot having a close interaction with human being should be able to recognize human facial expression. FER is a non-trivial problem because each individual has his own way to reveal his emotion and the facial expressions of two different persons may not be totally identical. Hence, facial expression recognition is still a challenging problem in computer vision. In this work, we propose a simple solution for facial expression recognition that uses a combination of Convolutional Neural Network and specific image pre-processing steps. The experiments employed to evaluate our technique were carried out using two largely used public databases(CK+, JAFFE). A study of the impact of each image pre-processing operation in the accuracy rate is presented. The proposed method: achieves competitive results when compared with other facial expression recognition methods-97.85% of accuracy in the CK+ database-it is fast to train, and it allows for real time facial expression recognition with standard computers.

A new concept of a synchronous detector for Giant Magneto-Impedance (GMI) sensors is presented. This concept combines a lock-in amplifier, with outstanding capabilities, high speed and a feedback approach that ensures the amplitude detection with easily adjustable gain. The synchronous detector is capable of measuring high-frequency and very low amplitude signals without the use of diode-based active rectifiers or analog switches. In comparison with most of the commercially available diode-based peak detectors, the linearity of the synchronous detector is generally better, especially for low level amplitudes. The synchronous detector has been used for the amplitude measurement of single frequency sine signal and for the demodulation of amplitude-modulated signal. It has also been successfully integrated in a GMI sensor prototype. Magnetic field measurements in open- and closed-loop of this sensor have been conducted. The measured sensitivity was about 1.02 V/Oe in open-loop while it was 0.12V/Oe in close-loop. The above research provides technical accumulation for the design of sensor nodes based on GMI sensor wireless sensor networks.
