This paper discusses delay-induced feedback stabilization of second-order systems in the noisy environment. With the help of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem and the Taylor expansion with integral, the mean square and almost sure exponential stability criteria for the close-loop linear dynamic systems based on the delay and noisy feedback control are established in terms of the simple linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). It is revealed that if the velocity measurement is unavailable, we can use the position measurements with a small delay to stabilize the original system even in the noisy environment. Some simulations are introduced to illustrate the delay-induced stabilizability criteria.

Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (DNNs) have made significant progress on human pose estimation task in recent years. However, the question of whether we are making the most use of the information we get from DNNs has not been well studied. Top-down approach which first detects person body box then utilizes single person pose estimation by heatmap is a widely used method in multi-person pose estimation. However, information that predicted by DNNs contains more information than we consider. In person box prediction process, when two persons are closed to each other, the Non-Maximum Suppression (NMS) we often use filters out the body boxes with smaller scores. For tackling this problem, we apply NMS based on Shape Similarity to person body boxes detection for tackling the problem that deleting the overlapped body boxes with smaller scores, and then extract keypoint coordinates and tag information for filter noise candidates from heatmap by Trasformer to improve the prediction accuracy. At last we develop an algorithm for refining keypoint coordinate by tag information. In experiment, we got mean Average Precision(mAP) of 76.0% in COCO2017 validation dataset, better than 75.6% with TransPose.

The number of leaves at a given time is important to characterize plant growth and *** this work,we developed a high-throughput method to count the number of leaves by detecting leaf tips in RGB *** digital plant phenotyping platform was used to simulate a large and diverse dataset of RGB images and corresponding leaf tip labels of wheat plants at seedling stages(150,000 images with over 2 million labels).The realism of the images was then improved using domain adaptation methods before training deep learning *** results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method evaluated on a diverse test dataset,collecting measurements from 5 countries obtained under different environments,growth stages,and lighting conditions with different cameras(450 images with over 2,162 labels).Among the 6 combinations of deep learning models and domain adaptation techniques,the Faster-RCNN model with cycle-consistent generative adversarial network adaptation technique provided the best performance(R^(2)=0.94,root mean square error=8.7).Complementary studies show that it is essential to simulate images with sufficient realism(background,leaf texture,and lighting conditions)before applying domain adaptation ***,the spatial resolution should be better than 0.6 mm per pixel to identify leaf *** method is claimed to be self-supervised since no manual labeling is required for model *** self-supervised phenotyping approach developed here offers great potential for addressing a wide range of plant phenotyping *** trained networks are available at https://***/YinglunLi/Wheat-leaf-tip-detection.

Deep learning-based no-reference image quality assessment (NR-IQA) algorithm requires massive training data and labels, but data scarcity usually exists in practical applications. Most of the previous metrics used pre-trained networks to solve this problem by fine-tuning on the target tasks. Unfortunately, the network trained on other tasks cannot be directly applied to IQA tasks and failed when encountering complex distortions. To reduce dependence on labeled data and improve generalization ability of unknown distortion types, a NR-IQA metric based on Meta-SGD is proposed, which can learn the quick adaptability of humans and obtain general meta-knowledge for distortion evaluation. Specifically, we collected a great many NR-IQA tasks with different distortion types to pre-train the model; then a meta-learning metric based on optimization, Meta-SGD, is proposed to acquire the meta-knowledge when evaluating images quality with various known distortions; finally, the obtained pre-trained meta-model can be directly applied to the new NR-IQA tasks only by fine-tuning a few images. Experiments on the TID2013 database demonstrate that the model after meta-learning obviously outperforms than some existing methods, and the average SRCC value for all types of distortion performance tests can reach 0.91.

Anti-saturation attack (ASA) strategy is vital for the survival of a warship group, and attracts the focus of many researchers. In this paper, the dynamics of ASA is formulated as a Markov Decision Process (MDP) with an enhanced states space since those characters are involved, such as the formation and detection and interception areas of warship group. A reinforcement learning method (Double Deep Q-leaning, DDQN) is developed to solve the problem and deal with the curse of dimensionality whereby the cost-to-go value is calculated by a marine engagement simulation system. A heuristic defense algorithm guided by field expert knowledge is designed for comparison. The experimental results show that the DDQN method performs better in anti-saturation attack scenarios. © 2021 IEEE.

Diffusion-Induced Barrier Coverage of Multi-Layer Robotic Sensing Networks With Adaptive Scheduling Strategy

The timely identification of external intruders is crucial to the protection of concerned regions or targets against malicious attacks. Multi-agent barrier coverage provides a powerful framework for the effective deployment of sensor networks to monitor baleful intruders. This paper aims to address the barrier coverage problem of robotic sensing networks by developing a multi-layer coverage formulation. Inspired by gas diffusion, a group of robotic sensors are scattered to expand the coverage territory from a gathering spot. With the assistance of a divide-and-conquer scheme, a distributed control algorithm is proposed to partition the defence barrier into multiple curve segments and integrate it with intruder monitoring. By adaptively scheduling robotic sensors among multi-layer networks, it contributes to maximizing the joint detection probability of sensing networks against external intruders. Moreover, theoretical analysis is conducted to acquire sufficient conditions for elevating the detection quality of a multi-layer sensing network. Finally, numerical simulations and robotic experiments are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed barrier coverage approach. © 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Temperature is an important environmental factor that all creatures depend on. Under the appropriate temperature, the neural system shows good biological performance. Based on an improved Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) neuron model considering temperature and noise, the ten-layers pure excitatory feedforward neural network and the ten-layers excitatory-inhibitory (EI) neural network are constructed to study the subthreshold signal propagation. It’s found that increasing temperature can restrain the signal propagation, and raise the noises intensity threshold where the failed signal propagation can transform into succeed signal propagation. Under the large noise, the signal propagation in network in different temperatures exhibits different anti-noise capabilities. There exists the saturation value of interlayer connection probability, that is, the signal propagation maintains constant when interlayer connection probability beyond a certain value. Moreover, in EI network with large noise, the network’s intrinsic oscillation activity will completely cover subthreshold signal, and block the signal propagation. The jumping phenomenon in the value of fidelity, which measures the similarity between input signal and output signal, appears in both pure excitatory network and EI network. This paper provides potential value for understanding the regulation of both temperature and noise in information propagation in neural network. © 2021, CC BY.

Recently, weak value Aw derived in the pre- and post-selected weak measurement has been shown to be powerful in measuring minute physical effects. In principle, the decrease in the post-selection probability will increase the sensitivity. Besides, the sensitivity which characterizes the pointer position shift is proportional to the real part of Aw, and the sensitivity which characterizes the pointer shift in momentum space is proportional to the imaginary part of Aw. However, we find that the relationship between the post-selection probability and the sensitivity is true when Aw is a purely real number or a purely imaginary number. The plural Aw will lead to the abnormal behavior where the decrease in the post-selection probability reduce the sensitivity at certain pre- and post-selection. In addition, considering the device imperfections and the environmental instability in the WVA protocol, this anomaly raised from plural Aw will reduce the sensitivity and generate a systematic error of the measurement compared with the original scheme. Finally, three feasible methods are proposed to reduce these negative effects when the weak measurement inevitably changes into measurement with a plural weak value. © 2021, CC BY.

Adaptive fuzzy control strategies are established to achieve global prescribed performance with prescribed-time convergence for strict-feedback systems with mismatched uncertainties and unknown nonlinearities. Firstly, to quantify the transient and steady performance constraints of the tracking error, a class of prescribed-time prescribed performance functions are designed, and a novel error transformation function is introduced to remove the initial value constraints and solve the singularity problem in existing works. Secondly, based on dynamic surface control methods, controllers with or without approximating structures are established to guarantee that the tracking error achieves prescribed transient performance and converges into a prescribed bounded set within prescribed time. In particular, the settling time and initial value of the prescribed performance function are completely independent of initial conditions of the tracking error and system parameters, which improves existing results. Moreover, with a novel Lyapunov-like energy function, not only the differential explosion problem frequently occurring in backstepping techniques is solved, but the drawback of the semi-global boundedness of tracking error induced by dynamic surface control can be overcome.
