Hybrid CFD/FEM-BEM simulation of cabin aerodynamic noise for vehicles traveling at high speed

Flow passing a vehicle may lead to the increase of the cabin interior noise level through a variety of mechanisms. These mechanisms include vibrations caused by aerodynamic excitations and reradiation from the glass panels, exterior noise trans-mitted and leaked through door seals including gaps and glass edge, and transmission of airborne noise generated by the interaction of flow with body panels. It is of vital importance to predict both the flow fields and the acoustic sources around the ve-hicle to accurately assess the impact of wind induced noise inside the cabin. In the present study, an unstructured segregated finite volume model was used to calculate the flow fields in which a hexahedron grid is used to simplify the vehicle geometry.A large eddy simulation coupled with a wall function model was applied to predict the exterior transient flow fields. The mean flow quantities were thus calculated along the symmetry plane and the vehicle's side windows. A coupled FEM/BEM method was used to compute the vehicle's interior noise level. The total contribution of the interior noise level due to the body panels of the vehicle was subsequently analyzed.

The problem of how to select a coordinate transformation matrix to improve the LMI conditions for H∞ staticoutput-feedback(SOF) control of discrete-time systems is a challenging open *** paper applies a newly proposed strategy to solve this *** iterative algorithm is developed to produce controllers with locally optimal closed-loop H∞*** algorithm is also applied to other H∞ SOF control problems,such as decentralized H∞ SOF control and simultaneous H∞ SOF ***,numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method.

A 3D reconstruction technique was applied to acquire pavement surface texture since the traditional method can’t achieve the balance between accuracy and *** this study,a simple pavement texture detection platform consisting of a camera,lighted sources and tripod was developed basing on four sources photometric stereo *** the pictures captured by detection platform were analyzed by least square method to extract the normals of points in the pavement *** these normals were calculated,they were used to recover surface heights of pavements by tangent plane *** experimental result shows that the 3D model of asphalt pavement recovered by photometric stereo technique is efficiency to reveal the pavement surface topography both in macro-scale and micro-scale.

In order to obtain more function materials sorts using the excellent properties of YAG, the YAG porous ceramics were successfully prepared by pressureless sintering method. The results show that the porosity of YAG porous ceramics sintered at 1500°C is similar with that of YAG porous ceramics sintered at 1550°C, however, the compressive strength of YAG porous ceramics sintered at 1550°C with more sintered necks is higher than that of YAG porous ceramics sintered at 1500°C. The porosity and the compressive strength of YAG porous ceramics sintered with holding time of 2 h are higher than that of YAG porous ceramics sintered with holding time of 1 h. The porosity and the compressive strength of YAG porous ceramics sintered with heating rate of 5°C/min are higher than that of YAG porous ceramics sintered with heating rate of 10°C/min. The porosity and the compressive strength of YAG porous ceramics sintered with removing carbon temperature of 800°C are higher than that of YAG porous ceramics sintered with removing carbon temperature of 1000°C. The suitable technology is sintering at 1550°C, holding for 2 h, heating rate of 5°C/min and removing carbon at 800°C, the porosity and the compressive strength of YAG porous ceramics are 59.4% and 8.55 MPa, respectively.

Hydrogen adsorption in high surface metal-organic framework (MOF) has generated significant interest over the past decade. We studied hydrogen storage processes of MOF-5 hydrogen storage systems with adsorbents of both the MOF-5 powder (0.13 g/cm3) and its compacted tablet (0.30 g/cm3). The charge-discharge cycles of the two MOF-5 adsorbents were simulated and compared with activated carbon. The physical model is based on mass, momentum and energy conservation equations of the adsorbent-adsorbate system composed of gaseous and adsorbed hydrogen, adsorbent bed and tank wall. The adsorption process was modeled using a modified Dubinin-Astakov (D-A) adsorption isotherm and its associated variational heat of adsorption. The model was implemented by means of finite element analysis software Comsol Multiphysics™, and the system simulation platform Matlab/Simulink™. The thermal average temperature from Comsol simulation is used to fill the gap between the system model and the multi-dimensional models. The heat and mass transfer feature of the model was validated by the experiments of activated carbon, the simulated pressure and temperatures are in good agreement with the experimental results. The model was further validated by the metal-organic framework of Cu-BTC and is being extended its application to MOF-5 in this study. The maximum pressure in the powder MOF-5 tank is much higher than that in the activated carbon tank due to the lower adsorbent density of MOF-5 and resulting lower hydrogen adsorption. The maximum pressure in the compacted MOF-5 tank is a little bit lower than that in the activated carbon tank due to the higher adsorbent density and resulting higher hydrogen adsorption. The temperature swings during the charge-discharge cycle of both MOF-5 tanks are higher than that of the activated carbon tank. These are caused mainly by pressure work in the powder MOF-5 tank and by adsorption heat in the compacted MOF-5 tank. For both MOF-5 hydrogen storage systems,

Molecular chirality is introduced at liquid–solid interfaces. A ring‐like aggregation of amyloid Aβ(1–40) on N ‐isobutyryl‐ L ‐cysteine ( L ‐NIBC)‐modified gold substrate occurs at low Aβ(1–40) concentration, while D ‐NIBC modification only results in rod‐like aggregation. Utilizing atomic force microscope controlled tip‐enhanced Raman scattering, we directly observe the secondary structure information for Aβ(1–40) assembly in situ at the nanoscale. D ‐ or L ‐NIBC on the surface can guide parallel or nonparallel alignment of β‐hairpins through a two‐step process based on electrostatic‐interaction‐enhanced adsorption and subsequent stereoselective recognition. Possible electrostatic interaction sites (R5 and K16) and a chiral recognition site (H14) of Aβ(1–40) are proposed, which may provide insight into the understanding of this effect.
