This paper presents a novel model protection paradigm Model Locking that locks the performance of a finetuned model on private data to make it unusable or unextractable without the right key. Specifically, we proposed a diffusion-based framework dubbed ModelLock that explores text-guided image editing to transform the private finetuning data into unique styles or blend new objects into the background. A model finetuned on this edited dataset will be locked and can only be unlocked by the key prompt, i.e., the same text prompt used to edit the data. We conduct extensive experiments on both image classification and segmentation tasks and show that 1) ModelLock can effectively lock finetuned models without significantly reducing their unlocked performance, and more importantly, 2) the locked model cannot be easily unlocked without knowing both the key prompt and the diffusion model. Our work opens up a new direction for intellectual property protection of private models. © 2024 ACM.

Semi-supervised semantic segmentation (SSS), which allows for learning a better model with a small fraction of labeled samples and a large amount of unlabeled ones, is valuable yet challenging in medical image analysis. Recent works (e.g., UniMatch) have found that weak-to-strong consistency via augmentation is especially conducive to SSS training. However, they inadvertently introduce cognitive biases for unlabeled images, making it difficult to segment accurately near the target's edge regions. In this paper we present a lightweight bias-correct module to self-correct these mistakes between the strong perturbations. Based on it, we design a new framework named BcMatch by plugging it into UniMatch to reduce such cognitive biases stemming from incorrect pseudo-labels for unlabeled images. Moreover, we also introduce a bias correction loss, which works in tandem with the consistency loss to guide the model learning, focusing more on the edge regions of the targets. Experiments on the representative semi-supervised segmentation dataset, ACDC, demonstrate our BcMatch surpasses UniMatch by a large margin, attaining new state-of-the-art performance. The virtual simulation experiment teaching system based on the Internet of Things simulates the Internet of Things sensing device in the form of software, and integrates relatively new teaching methods and theoretical knowledge, designs and completes a characteristic, can adapt to various needs of the Internet of Things experiment teaching system, and strives to provide more efficient protection and help for teachers' teaching tasks and students' learning tasks. Traditional unlearnable strategies have been proposed to prevent unauthorized users from training on the 2D image data. With more 3D point cloud data containing sensitivity information, unauthorized usage of this new type data has also become a serious concern. To address this, we propose the first integral unlearnable framework for 3D point clouds including two processes: (i) we propose an unlearnable data protection scheme, involving a class-wise setting established by a category-adaptive allocation strategy and multi-transformations assigned to samples; (ii) we propose a data restoration scheme that utilizes class-wise inverse matrix transformation, thus enabling authorized-only training for unlearnable data. This restoration process is a practical issue overlooked in most existing unlearnable literature, i.e., even authorized users struggle to gain knowledge from 3D unlearnable data. Both theoretical and empirical results (including 6 datasets, 16 models, and 2 tasks) demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed unlearnable framework. Ancient Character Recognition: A Novel Image dataset of Shui Manuscript Characters and Classification Model

Shui manuscripts are part of the national intangible cultural heritage of China. Owing to the particularity of text reading, the level of informatization and intelligence in the protection of Shui manuscript culture is not adequate. To address this issue, this study created Shuishu＿C, the largest image dataset of Shui manuscript characters that has been reported. Furthermore, after extensive experimental validation, we proposed ShuiNet-A,a lightweight artificial neural network model based on the attention mechanism, which combines channel and spatial dimensions to extract key features and finally recognize Shui manuscript characters. The effectiveness and stability of ShuiNet-A were verified through multiple sets of experiments. Our results showed that, on the Shui manuscript dataset with 113 categories, the accuracy of ShuiN et-A was 99.8%, which is 1.5% higher than those of similar studies. The proposed model could contribute to the classification accuracy and protection of ancient Shui manuscript characters.

With the continuous development of software open-sourcing, the reuse of open-source software has led to a significant increase in the occurrence of recurring vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities often arise through the practice of copying and pasting existing vulnerabilities. Many methods have been proposed for detecting recurring vulnerabilities, but they often struggle to ensure both high efficiency and consideration of semantic information about vulnerabilities and patches. In this paper, we introduce FIRE, a scalable method for large-scale recurring vulnerability detection. It utilizes multi-stage filtering and differential taint paths to achieve precise clone vulnerability scanning at an extensive scale. In our evaluation across ten open-source software projects, FIRE demonstrates a precision of 90.0% in detecting 298 recurring vulnerabilities out of 385 ground truth instance. This surpasses the performance of existing advanced recurring vulnerability detection tools, detecting 31.4% more vulnerabilities than VUDDY and 47.0% more than MOVERY. When detecting vulnerabilities in large-scale software, FIRE outperforms MOVERY by saving about twice the time, enabling the scanning of recurring vulnerabilities on an ultra-large scale.

In this article, a new vision- and grating-sensor-based intelligent unmanned settlement (IUS) system is proposed for convenience stores to automatically recognize the shopping behavior of customers, record their identities, and generate invoices. First, we design a new IUS architecture, which includes a shelf module and exit module. To achieve automatic settlement for each customer, a shopping event detection method is proposed. In this method, a vision-based human pose estimation algorithm is used to detect a human form standing in front of a shelf. The hand actions of each customer are detected by a grating sensor, and an image recognition method based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) is applied to recognize the items in the hands of customers. To reduce the image annotation workload, we propose a semisupervised training method for the recognition network. Based on hand action detection and item recognition, a shopping event recognition method is designed for the system, and a facial image of the customer corresponding to each shopping behavior is captured. Finally, each detected shopping event is added to the invoice of the corresponding customer via a facial recognition method. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed IUS system, we have built a handheld item image dataset and a shopping event dataset for an unmanned convenience store. The experimental results show that the proposed system can accurately recognize shopping behaviors and generate invoices. © 2020 IEEE.

The learning content of the Internet of Things (IoT) professional courses is closely related to reality, and has the characteristics of comprehensiveness, intersection and application. In order to solve the limitations of traditional practice teaching methods in time and space, and enhance the interaction of practice teaching, this project took the Internet of Things technology and application in virtual smart city as the research object, combined with advanced information technology, based on Bloom’s teaching objectives, a 3D virtual simulation experiment teaching platform composed of virtual equipment, and integrated data management and analysis services was established. The platform constructs a number of IoT 3D virtual simulation scenarios that emphasize professional technology and reflect the cutting-edge technology to create an immersive teaching environment. In addition, the platform contains multiple comprehensive experimental projects for exploratory research-based professional courses. For evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithms (EMOAs), an external archive can be utilized for saving good solutions found throughout the evolutionary process. Recent studies showed that a solution set selected from an external archive is usually superior to the final population. That is, the incorporation of an external archive improves the performance of EMOAs. However, the computation time for maintaining an external archive is long, especially when the archive size is large. To solve this issue, a simple archiving strategy is to save all solutions generated in the last several generations. In this paper, we examine this archiving strategy for three representative EMOAs on artificial test problems (Minus-DTLZ and WFG) and real-world problems (RE). Our results show that archiving the last several generations clearly improves the performance of EMOAs without severely increasing the computation time. © 2024 IEEE.
