To solve the problem that the current skin lesion segmentation networks have a poor segmentation accuracy when lesion areas are of different shapes and sizes and low contrast at the edge areas, based on U-Net, we present a skin lesion segmentation network based on multi-scale and improved skip connections. Firstly, a multi-scale feature enhancement module is designed to replace the U-Net's 3× 3 convolution blocks, which can improve the feature extraction ability of the network about lesion areas of different shapes and sizes. Secondly, a lesion attention module is introduced into the skip connection to improve the semantic expression of low-level features and the location attention of high-level features, which can improve the fine-grained information transmission efficiency at the skip connection. Finally, a new hybrid loss function is designed to calculate the label and the edge loss of lesion areas, which improves the ability of the network to segment lesion areas and edges. Experiments are conducted on the ISIC2017 and ISIC2018 datasets, and the results prove that our method have a higher segmentation accuracy in skin lesion segmentation. © 2024 IEEE.

Cover ratio of cloud is a very important factor which affects the quality of a satellite image, therefore cloud detection from satellite images is a necessary step in assessing the image quality. The study on cloud detection from the visual band of a satellite image is developed. Firstly, we consider the differences between the cloud and ground including high grey level, good continuity of grey level, area of cloud region, and the variance of local fractal dimension (VLFD) of the cloud region. A single cloud region detection method is proposed. Secondly, by introducing a reference satellite image and by comparing the variance in the dimensions corresponding to the reference and the tested images, a method that detects multiple cloud regions and determines whether or not the cloud exists in an image is described. By using several Ikonos images, the performance of the proposed method is demonstrated.

In recent years, wind power has become more and more important in the energy component. In order to improve the prediction accuracy of wind farms and help management and scheduling, a multi-site short-term wind power spatiotemporal combination forecasting model based on dynamic graph convolution and graph attention is proposed. Firstly, graph convolution is used to realize neighbor aggregation of temporal features between multiple sites, and the graph attention mechanism is used to enhance its ability to extract spatial features. At the same time, in view of the problem that the traditional model cannot deal with the real-time change of graph node correlation, the adjacency matrix is dynamically constructed according to the correlation coefficient and distance between nodes in the graph convolution process. Finally, the Gated Recurrent Unit is used to process the context information of dynamic graph convolution output to complete the prediction of wind power. The experimental results show that the proposed combined model is optimal in the aspects of prediction accuracy, stability and multi-step prediction performance. © 2023 SPIE.

Subspace learning is most traditional and important in multimedia analysis. Numerous researches have focused on how to introduce machine learning and statistical methods to multimedia subspace learning for semantic understanding and denoising, and have gained remarkable achievement in different multimedia applications, such as content-based retrieval, data clustering, face recognition, etc. However, most of these researches are based on multimedia data of single modality. Nowadays, with the rapid development of multimedia and information technology, multimedia data of different modalities often coexist, and the presence of one has a complementary effect on the other to some extent. Because different multimedia data are usually represented with heterogeneous low-level features and there exists the wellknown semantic gap, it is interesting and challenging to learn multimedia semantics by multi-feature subspace learning of different modalities. In this paper, we analyze sparse canonical correlation between feature matrices of different multimedia data, construct an isomorphic sparse multi-feature subspace;moreover, we propose subspace optimization strategy with correlation fusion, which explores both geometrical-based content correlation and graph-based semantic correlation. Our algorithm has been applied to content-based multimodal retrieval and data classification. Comprehensive experiments have demonstrated the superiority of our method over several existing algorithms. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2013.

In the backdrop of the digital era, the demand for second-hand trading within campuses has seen a significant rise. This project aims at designing a second-hand trading platform that merges the latest technological trends, providing a secure and convenient trading environment for students. The system utilizes Spring Boot for backend development and Vue along with ElementUI for constructing the user interface, ensuring efficient operation and enhancing user interaction experience. The server employs Spring Boot's built-in Tomcat, simplifying the deployment process. For data persistence, Mybatis framework is used for flexible and efficient interactions with the MySQL database. The platform introduces a collaborative filtering algorithm based on user behavior for smart product recommendations, further improving the user experience. The system integrates core modules such as user management, product browsing, shopping cart functionalities, and order processing, innovatively introducing an offline transaction confirmation mechanism to ensure transaction security and reliability while avoiding legal risks associated with online payments. With its B/S architecture, the platform operates more smoothly, making it more accessible to users. Experimental results demonstrate that the platform has a user-friendly interface and efficient data processing capabilities, receiving widespread recognition and praise from users, proving its practicality and innovativeness. © 2024 IEEE.

Simultaneous segmentation and classification of colon cancer polyp images using a dual branch multi-task learning network

Accurate classification and segmentation of polyps are two important tasks in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancers. Existing models perform segmentation and classification separately and do not fully make use of the correlation between the two tasks. Furthermore, polyps exhibit random regions and varying shapes and sizes, and they often share similar boundaries and backgrounds. However, existing models fail to consider these factors and thus are not robust because of their inherent limitations. To address these issues, we developed a multi-task network that performs both segmentation and classification simultaneously and can cope with the aforementioned factors effectively. Our proposed network possesses a dual-branch structure, comprising a transformer branch and a convolutional neural network (CNN) branch. This approach enhances local details within the global representation, improving both local feature awareness and global contextual understanding, thus contributing to the improved preservation of polyp-related information. Additionally, we have designed a feature interaction module (FIM) aimed at bridging the semantic gap between the two branches and facilitating the integration of diverse semantic information from both branches. This integration enables the full capture of global context information and local details related to polyps. To prevent the loss of edge detail information crucial for polyp identification, we have introduced a reverse attention boundary enhancement (RABE) module to gradually enhance edge structures and detailed information within polyp regions. Finally, we conducted extensive experiments on five publicly available datasets to evaluate the performance of our method in both polyp segmentation and classification tasks. The experimental results confirm that our proposed method outperforms other state-of-the-art methods. ©2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press.

This article investigates the optimal cooperative tracking control problem for unknown nonlinear multiagent systems with a real dynamic leader and uncertainties. Its main difficulty lies in eliminating effect of the unmatched uncertainty and noncooperation in the event-triggered manner. To overcome this difficulty, a distributed robust event-triggered control algorithm is developed with the aid of a disturbance observer and robust approximate dynamic programming (ADP). Specifically, this problem is converted into a cooperative multiplayer game for the distributed auxiliary systems employing observer-based feedforward compensation, which contributes to reducing conservatism;via an adaptive event-triggered mechanism and a new weight tuning law, a distributed robust ADP approach is proposed with hope to obviate judging the existence of the saddle point beforehand. Moreover, the local neighbor tracking error and the weight estimation error are demonstrated to be uniformly ultimately bounded by means of Lyapunov stability theory. We also prove that Zeno behavior is excluded. A comparative simulation example for multiquadrotor systems is carried out to verify the effectiveness and superiority of our algorithm. © 2020 IEEE.

In order to improve the accuracy of image classification and the robustness of the algorithm, this paper proposes a Image classification algorithm based on LTS-HD(Least Trimmed Square Hausdorff) multi instance multi label RBF. The image classification algorithm based on the traditional Hausdorff distance has poor stability, and the classification results are quite different. Therefore, the image classification algorithm based on the LTS Hausdorff overcomes the problems existing in the traditional algorithm. In this paper, an improved K-Means clustering algorithm which combines Canopy algorithm and K-Means algorithm not only optimizes the initial clustering center of K-Means algorithm, but also reduces the time complexity of traditional K-Means algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively resist the influence of noise and improve the accuracy of classification. © 2017 IEEE.

Ridesharing benefits the economy and the environment. In multi-hop ridesharing, passengers are permitted to switch vehicles within a single trip, extending the flexibility of conventional ridesharing. Nonetheless, vehicle dispatch is a difficult issue in multi-hop ridesharing. We subdivide the vehicle dispatching problem into the vehicle pairing problem and the request selection problem within a vehicle pair. To address these subproblems, we propose a two-stage framework for vehicle pair dispatching. In the initial stage, we model the vehicle pairing problem as a maximum vehicle-vehicle matching problem in a general graph, which differs from the conventional vehicle-request matching problem in a bipartite graph. The vehicle pairing algorithm is proposed to efficiently solve the vehicle pairing problem. In the second stage, we model the request selection problem as a multidimensional knapsack problem (d-KP) and propose an LP-relaxation request selection algorithm with an approximation ratio 1/5. Experiments conducted on a real-world dataset demonstrate the economic benefit of our proposed two-stage framework. © 2023 IEEE.

Task assignment is a key challenge in mobile crowd-sensing because of the varying capabilities of crowd users. Location-based task assignment schemes require users to upload their location to an untrusted platform, which raises many privacy concerns. However, stronger privacy preservation may lead to lower system utility. It is challenging to maximize system utility under privacy preservation for users. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving task assignment for heterogeneous users (PTAH) problem in mobile crowdsensing. Specifically, we divide users into two groups: private users with location privacy requirements and public users without location privacy requirements. We first design a privacy-preserving mechanism to obfuscate the actual location of private users. Then we construct a relationship graph based on the locations between users and tasks. We prove that the PTAH problem is an NP-hard problem, so to maximize the system utility, we propose an approximation algorithm based on the greedy algorithm. Then we propose a multi-thread cooperative simulated annealing algorithm to search for a better approximate solution. Finally, we conducted simulations based on the widely-used real-world Roma dataset. The results show that our proposed algorithm consistently outperforms other baseline algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.
