A Novel Thermal Analysis Method for Tubular PM Linear Motors Based on Transfer Learning

Thermal modeling and analysis are critical for permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSMs), particularly in multi-physical analysis and motor design optimization. This paper proposes a new method for thermal steady state modeling and analysis based on transfer learning, which combines the thermal mechanism model with the data-driven model to achieve high-precision temperature analysis with small number of finite element analysis (FEA) samples. First, an equivalent thermal circuit (ETC) model is established for PMLSMs based on the structural parameters and heat transfer principles. Second, a hybrid model based on transfer learning is developed: the model is pre-trained by a large sample set generated from the ETC in the source field (mechanism analytical model), and then the trained model is transferred to the target field (FEA data-driven model). The parameters of the neural network in the target field are optimized by a few FEA sample sets with higher precision to improve the prediction accuracy of the target model. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly boosts the performance of the deep neural network (DNN) model, particularly when training sets are small. The root mean square error (RMSE) of the DNN model decreases by 0.901 in the 5:5 (training/testing) dataset and 1.726 in the 2:8 dataset;and the corresponding R2 and maximal absolute error of motor performances are significantly decreased. The smaller the proportion of the training set, the better performance of the hybrid modeling will achieve. Furthermore, a temperature rise experiment conducted on a prototype motor validates the efficacy and precision of the proposed hybrid modeling methodology. © 2015 IEEE.

In the process of coal mine drilling,controlling the rotary speed is important as it determines the efficiency and safety of *** this paper,a linear extended state observer(LESO)based backstepping controller for rotary speed is proposed,which can overcome the impact of changes in coal seam hardness on rotary ***,the influence of coal seam hardness on the drilling rig’s rotary system is considered for the first time,which is reflected in the numerical variation of load torque,and a dynamic model for the design of rotary speed controller is *** an LESO is designed to observe the load torque,and feedforward compensation is carried out to overcome the influence of coal seam *** on the model of the compensated system,a backstepping method is used to design a controller to achieve tracking control of the rotary ***,the effectiveness of the controller designed in this paper is demonstrated through simulation and field experiments,the steady-state error of the rotary speed in field is 1 r/min,and the overshoot is reduced to 5.8%.This greatly improves the stability and security,which is exactly what the drilling process requires.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most difficult diseases to be treated fundamentally in the medical field in today's world, and the recurrence rate of HCC has been increasing year by year in recent years. The study on the identification and prediction of microvascular invasion phenomenon (MVI) in hepatocellular carcinoma is beneficial to the postoperative prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma patients, which can greatly improve the survival probability of patients after surgery. In this study, a new MVI prediction method (MSF-GWO-GPR) was proposed, which combines the multi-sequence image features of imaging histology, sifts out the unimportant features through the T-test method and the dimensionality reduction of Lasso regression, and establishes the multi-sequence Gaussian process regression (GPR) prediction model for data fusion, and combined with the Gray Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm to design a suitable optimization objective function to optimize the hyper-parameters in the GPR, in order to get better prediction results. Compared with the existing methods, the data from different sequences of MRI images are selected for fusion in this study, which makes the feature data richer and more complete, and the model applicability is better;moreover, by optimizing the hyperparameters in the model through the GWO, the model can be made more accurate, reduce the risk of misidentified prediction, and improve the accuracy rate. The experimental results show that MSF-GWO-GPR outperforms widely used machine learning methods in terms of accuracy, F1 score, precision, recall and AUC metrics. This may provide a new idea for the identification and prediction of MVI in hepatocellular carcinoma. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

High temperature rise of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor can lead to irreversible demagnetization of the motor permanent magnet, which can negatively affect the motor performance. To address this problem, a thermal modeling analysis method based on Transfer learning-Deep neural network (TL-DNN) was proposed in this paper. Its specific implementation steps include (1) corresponding to different heat source inputs, the equivalent thermal circuit method and the finite element analysis was adopted based on the structure and main parameters of PMLSM including overall average temperature rise, coil temperature rise and permanent magnet temperature rise from the data sets of the motor;(2) TL-DNN was used to fit the functional relationship between the input source features and the output targets based on the characteristics of the sample data sets. In order to verify the accuracy of the prediction model with small sample data sets, this paper divided the proportion of the data set and compared the results with other classic nonparametric models (random forest, support vector machine, and deep neural network). The results show that the TL-DNN model outperforms other machine learning models and has better robustness and generalization ability when the training datasets are insufficient, and achieves an organic combination of physical field path model and data-driven model, which provides a feasible solution for PMLSM modeling in the case of small samples. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

The rational design of weighting factors in the cost function for finite control set model predictive torque control (FCS-MPTC) has been a matter of great interest in power electronics and electrical drives. In order to solve this problem, a weighting factors autotuning strategy for FCS-MPTC of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) based on the adaptive multi-objective black hole algorithm (AMOBH) is proposed. In this paper, the design process of the FCS-MPTC algorithm is first analyzed in detail. Then, an AMOBH algorithm that can take into account both population convergence and population diversity is introduced, and based on this algorithm, the design problem of the weighting factors is successfully transformed into a multi-objective optimization problem by means of reconstructing the cost function and designing the motor operation information collected in real time as the objective functions of the multi-objective optimization algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed method can find a set of weighting factor combinations suitable for different working condition requirements, and these weighting factors can effectively improve the operation performance of the PMSM system. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

In this paper,we focus on the tracking performance(TP) limitations of networked control systems(NCS s).The control system considered is a multi-input and multi-output(MIMO) discrete-time network control system with time delay,channel noise,packet dropouts,and logarithmic quantization communication *** modeling the channel,we assumed the channel noise to be additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) and used a binary random process to model packet dropouts and a logarithmic quantizer to model the quantization *** explicit expression of the TP limitations of NCSs utilizing the two-degree-of-freedom(TDOF) controller is then derived using the frequency-domain approach,coprime decomposition,and Youla parameterization *** results show that the essential characteristics of the plant(locations and directions of nonminimum phase zeros and unstable poles) and network constraints(time delay,packet dropouts,quantization,and noise power spectral density) are closely related to the TP limitations.

Ground penetrating radar (GPR) is extensively employed for subsurface road target detection, offering benefits such as convenience, nondestructive testing, rapid data acquisition, and superior resolution. Despite these advantages, interpreting GPR data often depends on the expertise of professionals, resulting in low detection efficiency and low accuracy. To address these challenges, this study introduces an intelligent detection technique for GPR images, utilizing an enhanced YOLOv5 framework. First, considering the problems of the small amount of GPR image datasets and the unclear characteristics caused by the complex underground media, a Dense-C3 module is built by utilizing the structure of DenseNet to enhance the network's capability for extracting features. Subsequently, a channel and spatial hybrid attention module is introduced into the backbone for feature refinement and improving the efficiency. Finally, the multi-class focal loss function is devised to enhance the precision in cases of imbalanced sample classes. Experimental results show that the proposed model surpasses the original YOLOv5 model and various contemporary advanced models. © 2023 IEEE.

Industrial alarm systems play crucial roles in assessing the production status and ensuring process safety. However, the presence of alarm floods can make alarm systems partially or fully fail, and thus would cause serious consequences. Alarm prediction, as an advanced approach to address alarm floods, offers operators decision supports when an alarm flood occurs. Existing alarm prediction methods requires that the output alarm sequences are of a fixed dimension, making such methods unable to adapt to the changing alarm rate. Accordingly, this paper proposes an alarm prediction model based on Transformer. The proposed model can predict alarm sequences with variational dimensions and can also achieve remarkable accuracy. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by a case study with data from the Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) simulation model. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

In recent years, radar based gesture recognition technology has attracted more and more attention. Among different types of radars, frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar has the greatest application potential due to its high range and velocity resolution and low cost. However, insufficient gesture information extraction and interference signals affect the performance of FMCW radar gesture recognition. To address the problems, a gesture recognition method based on multi-dimensional features and deep neural network is proposed in this paper. First, the range-time map (RTM) and velocity-time map (VTM) of the gesture are constructed from the range-Doppler map (RDM) with two-dimensional fast Fourier transform (2D-FFT). Then, the angle-time map (ATM) is constructed with the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm. Subsequently, RTM, VTM and ATM are normalized and adaptively filtered to suppress interference signals, and the three maps are fused to construct the range-velocity-angle-time map (RV ATM) of the gesture. Finally, an improved VGG16 network with self-attention mechanism module is used for feature extraction and recognition. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves an average accuracy of 98.3% for six gestures, and the improved VGG16 network outperforms other traditional convolutional neural networks. © 2023 IEEE.
