To improve the accuracy of Electroencephalogram (EEG) emotion recognition, a stacking emotion classification model is proposed, in which different classification models such as XGBoost, LightGBM and Random Forest are integrated to learn the features. In addition, the Renyi entropy of 32 channels' EEG signals are extracted as the feature and Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) is employed to reduce the dimension of the feature set. The proposal is tested on the DEAP dataset, and the EEG emotional states are accessed in Arousal-Valence emotion space, in which HA/LA and HV/LV are classified, respectively. The result shows that the average recognition accuracies of 77.19% for HA/LA and 79.06% for HV/LV are obtained, which demonstrates that the proposal is feasible in EEG emotion recognition. © 2018 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

An important feature of the deep learning algorithm is that the hidden layer of the neural network is more dependent on more computing resources and a larger amount of data. In this paper, we use TripletGAN method to identify human body images with tattoos using fewer data sample labels. The model achieved better results(0.9462) than the only Triplet(0.8352) and only GAN(0.9178) in the MNIST dataset, it also achieved higher recognition accuracy (77-82%) under the premise of saving the amount of data, compared with the traditional machine learning algorithm(54-84%). We provide a new idea for tattoo image recognition applications in embedded computing units. © 2018 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

The PV-wind-storage microgrid plays an important role in solving power supply problems. Energy storage system is an important element to be considered when the optimal economic operation of microgrid is carried out due to the high cost and discount. To achieve reliable and economic operations of a PV-wind-storage microgrid, the lifetime characteristics of energy storage system also need to be fully investigated. In this paper, low pass filter is used to determine the power of super capacitor and battery, than established battery life quantitative model according to the equivalent cycle life curve. Considering the lifetime characteristics of energy storage system, a optimization to minimize power generation cost and to maximize the useful life of hybrid energy storage system has been achieved via the particle swarm optimization (PSO). The simulation results show the proposed method can optimize the system operations and has good optimization results.

In this paper, a two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) speed control scheme for permanent magnet synchronous machines is developed. Both the reference-tracking and disturbance rejection performance are taken into account and only a single parameter related to expected bandwidth determines the dynamics. To improve the performance of speed control, a novel identification method for mechanical parameters is also proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulations.

Parallelizing metaheuristics has become a common practice considering the computation power and resources available nowadays. The aim of parallelizing a metaheuristic is either to increase the quality of the generated output, given a fixed computation time, or to reduce the required time in generating an output. In this work, we parallelize one of the best-performing ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithms and apply it to the electric vehicle routing problem (EVRP). EVRP is more challenging than the conventional vehicle routing problem, as with the consideration of electric vehicles additional hard constraints arise within the EVRP due to their limited driving range (e.g., the consideration whether electric vehicles need to visit a charging station during their daily operation). The proposed parallel ACO algorithm with several colonies also uses a migration policy to allow communication between the different colonies. From the simulation studies it is shown that parallelizing ACO algorithms, both with and without a migration policy, is highly effective.

The recently proposed dynamic constrained multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (DCMOEA) is effective to handle constrained optimization problems (COPs). However, one drawback of DCMOEA is it mainly searches the global optimum from infeasible regions, which may result in the bias against feasible solutions. Then the useful information about the optimal direction of feasible regions is not fully used. To overcome this defect, this paper proposes a novel selection strategy based on DCMOEA framework, called NSDCMOEA to solve COPs. The performance of NSDCMOEA is evaluated using a set of benchmark suites. Experimental results validate that the proposed method is better than or very competitive to five state-of-the-art algorithms. © 2018 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

A facial expression emotion recognition based human-robot interaction(FEER-HRI) system is proposed, for which a four-layer system framework is designed. The FEERHRI system enables the robots not only to recognize human emotions, but also to generate facial expression for adapting to human emotions. A facial emotion recognition method based on2D-Gabor, uniform local binary pattern(LBP) operator, and multiclass extreme learning machine(ELM) classifier is presented,which is applied to real-time facial expression recognition for robots. Facial expressions of robots are represented by simple cartoon symbols and displayed by a LED screen equipped in the robots, which can be easily understood by human. Four scenarios,i.e., guiding, entertainment, home service and scene simulation are performed in the human-robot interaction experiment, in which smooth communication is realized by facial expression recognition of humans and facial expression generation of robots within 2 seconds. As a few prospective applications, the FEERHRI system can be applied in home service, smart home, safe driving, and so on.

Fractional Sliding Mode control for Nonlinear Aerospace systems

This paper focuses on the study of fractional order terminal sliding mode control for nonlinear aerospace systems. Firstly, a novel fractional order integral terminal sliding mode control (FO-I-TSMC) method is proposed for the control of first order nonlinear system. FO-I-TSMC has three attractive advantages: i) Non-singular control law; ii) Elimination of the reaching phase; iii) Calculable finite convergence time. Furthermore, theory analysis is presented to reveal the potential advantages of the FO-I-TSMC method over its integer order counterparts. Secondly, a novel fractional order derivative integral-TSMC (FO-DI-TSMC) method is presented to deal with second order nonlinear system. Finally, FO-DI-TSMC is extended to deal with a general class of higher order control system. Simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

In the vector control system of the tubular oscillatory linear permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor (LPMSM), it is difficult for traditional mechanical sensors to accurately obtain the feedback information under harsh conditions. In this work, a speed sensorless vector control system is designed and applied to the tubular oscillatory LPMSM which adopts the model reference adaptive system (MRAS), and the deadbeat current predictive control (DCPC) is also adopted to replace the traditional PI current loop to establish the coordination controller, which overcomes the difficulties of global optimization and PI control parameter setting. And the method is proved by the simulation results and it gets better dynamic performance.

T0616. The temperature accuracy of the steel coil is directly affected the production quality of the steel plate. In the annealing furnace temperature control system, strip temperature control is mainly decided by various furnace annealing furnace gas flow in the area, so setting up a precise model between gas flow and temperature has become an important problem of the control system of annealing furnace. In this paper, SVM is applied to the prediction model of the gas flow in the annealing furnace since it's suitable for nonlinear and high dimensional problems as a machine learning method. In view of that the choice of C, G and the model parameters of the SVM directly affect the prediction precision of the model, this paper uses GA to optimize these two parameters. Finally, we use the data of field production as training and testing samples to establish and verify the model. The experimental results showed that the established model well achieved the requirements of the accuracy of the target. © 2018 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.
