Action quality assessment via moment aware network

Recent action quality assessment methods attempt to decompose the entire video into sub-actions of the same level, which still suffers from information redundancy and lacks certain interpretability. Through studying and analysing the evaluation rules of relevant sports events, we assume that certain critical moments in the actions will significantly impact the assessment of the entire action, if the weight of these critical moments in the evaluation process can be increased, then the results can be more accurate and more persuasive. To validate this idea, we propose a moment-aware approach for action quality assessment, a novel moment-aware module is used to explore the key moments in action globally and locally to obtain more reliable evaluation results. Extensive experiments have shown that our module captures key moments that are close to the focus of human referees, and our method has also achieved favorable results on multiple public AQA benchmarks, the Spearman’s rank correlation reached 0.9360 on FineDiving dataset and 0.8797 on AQA-7 dataset. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

In this paper, we study the space-like submanifolds with parallel Gaussian mean curvature vector in pseudo-Euclidean space. We establish a relevant Omori-Yau maximum principle for these space-like submanifolds which is closed with respect to the Euclidean topology. Then, we prove a rigidity theorem for these space-like submanifolds with ⃦ ε ⃦ <^√_n² under a growth condition on the mean curvature. Finally, we use a Liouville type result to obtain a further rigidity theorem for space-like submanifolds with parallel Gaussian mean curvature vector in pseudo-Euclidean space. © 2025 Tohoku University, Mathematical Institute. This paper presents a novel approach for dense scene text detection called DSSNet (Dense Script Spotter Network). The network leverages ResNet and FPN for feature extraction, employing multi-scale feature fusion and Transformer-based feature processing to enhance text recognition across varying sizes. The method generates text instance shapes using Bézier central curves and performs text recognition by integrating positional query information. Experimental results on the DSTD1500 and ICDAR2015 datasets demonstrate that DSSNet outperforms existing methods in terms of text localization accuracy, recognition accuracy, and annotation flexibility. © 2025 SPIE.

Maritime risk identification technology is more and more important for ships sailing on the sea, and can ensure the safety of ships sailing on the sea. However, traditional risk identification methods rely on historical data and qualitative experience, which is difficult to deal with complex and changeable environment. Recently, advancements in artificial intelligence, particularly large language models, have introduced new solutions to these challenges. While these models excel in data processing and pattern recognition, their effective application within the maritime domain remains problematic. This paper presents the ReAct (Reasoning and Acting) model, which enhances the adaptability of large language models by simulating human reasoning and actions. This paper first reviews the traditional methods and existing problems of maritime risk identification, and then discusses the basic principle of ReAct model and its potential in risk identification. Finally, the study proposes the integration of ReAct with large language models, highlighting the advantages and future prospects of this approach. This research aims to provide new theoretical and technological support for maritime risk identification, ultimately contributing to improved risk management and accident prevention. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. BEDiff: denoising diffusion probabilistic models for building extraction

Accurately identifying building distribution from remote sensing images with complex background information is challenging. The emergence of diffusion models has prompted the innovative idea of employing the reverse denoising process to distill building distribution from these complex backgrounds. Building on this concept, we propose a novel framework, building extraction diffusion model(BEDiff), which meticulously refines the extraction of building footprints from remote sensing images in a stepwise fashion. Our approach begins with the design of booster guidance, a mechanism that extracts structural and semantic features from remote sensing images to serve as priors, thereby providing targeted guidance for the diffusion process. Additionally, we introduce a cross-feature fusion module(CFM) that bridges the semantic gap between different types of features, facilitating the integration of the attributes extracted by booster guidance into the diffusion process more effectively. Our proposed BEDiff marks the first application of diffusion models to the task of building extraction. Empirical evidence from extensive experiments on the Beijing building dataset demonstrates the superior performance of BEDiff, affirming its effectiveness and potential for enhancing the accuracy of building extraction in complex urban landscapes.

Cross-view object geo-localization (CVOGL) aims to locate an object of interest in a captured ground- or drone-view image within the satellite image. However, existing works treat ground-view and drone-view query images equivalently, overlooking their inherent viewpoint discrepancies and the spatial correlation between the query image and the satellite-view reference image. To this end, this paper proposes a novel View-specific Attention Geo-localization method (VAGeo) for accurate CVOGL. Specifically, VAGeo contains two key modules: view-specific positional encoding (VSPE) module and channel-spatial hybrid attention (CSHA) module. In object-level, according to the characteristics of different viewpoints of ground and drone query images, viewpoint-specific positional codings are designed to more accurately identify the click-point object of the query image in the VSPE module. In feature-level, a hybrid attention in the CSHA module is introduced by combining channel attention and spatial attention mechanisms simultaneously for learning discriminative features. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the proposed VAGeo gains a significant performance improvement, i.e., improving acc@0.25/acc@0.5 on the CVOGL dataset from 45.43%/42.24% to 48.21%/45.22% for ground-view, and from 61.97%/57.66% to 66.19%/61.87% for drone-view. © 2025 IEEE.

In this work, a distributed source positioning approach is developed based on Alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM). First, a centralized positioning method is developed under case of the anchor uncertainty. And then, the method is realized in a distributed way using ADMM. Simulation results show that the centralized one is robust to the anchor errors and distributed one has similar performance as the centralized one.

Underwater image enhancement (UIE) focuses on mitigating image quality degradation due to light absorption and scattering. However, most existing methods enhance images via a global and uniform manner, neglecting the inherent semantic information in different regions, which may cause the network to easily deviate from the region's original color. Moreover, these methods typically rely on clear images to guide network convergence, a process constrained by the limited availability of real-world datasets, making it extremely challenging to train enhancement models for various degradations. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a semantic guidance and region contrastive constraints network (SRCNet). Initially, we propose a semantic-aware RWKV (Receptance Weighted key Value) block and a semantic prompt regularization module. These components leverage intra-target semantic correlations to preserve image details and colors within a global perceptual framework, while employing focal loss to emphasize the restoration of severely degraded regions. Subsequently, we introduce a region contrastive learning method that effectively utilizes negative samples to precisely capture features sensitive to degradation factors, thereby fostering robust feature distributions. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms existing state-of-the-art (SOTA) approaches. © 2025 IEEE.

Styrene-butadiene-styrene(SBS)modified asphalt(SA)has long found effective applications in road construction *** combined with fillers,SBS-modified asphalt has demonstrated promising resistance to fatigue cracking caused by temperature fluctuations and *** this study,molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))and polyphosphoric acid(PPA)were ground in naphthenic oil(NO)and subjected to mechanical activation to create PPAmodified MoS_(2),referred to as *** blending various ratios of OMS-PPA with SBS-modified asphalt,composite-modified asphalts were successfully developed to enhance their overall *** assess the mechanical characteristics and stability of these modified asphalts,various methods were employed,including penetration factor,flow activation energy,fluorescence microscopy,and dynamic shear ***,the short-term aging performance was evaluated using Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy and nanoindentation *** results revealed a 3.7%decrease in the penetration-temperature coefficient for SAOMS compared to SA,while 1-SA-OMS-PPA showed an even greater reduction of 7.1%.Furthermore,after short-term aging,carboxyl group generation in SA increased by 5.93%,while SA-OMS exhibited a smaller rise of 1.36%,and 1-SA-OMS-PPA saw an increase of just 0.93%.The study also highlighted significant improvements in the hardness of these *** hardness change ratio for SA-OMS decreased by 43.08%,while the ratio for 1-SA-OMS-PPA saw a notable reduction of 65.16% compared to unmodified *** findings suggest that OMS-PPA contributed to improvements in temperature sensitivity,particle dispersibility,and resistance to shortterm aging in *** results hold significant promise for the future development of advanced asphalt-based materials with potential high-value applications in flexible pavements for highways.
