Dynamic gesture recognition is an essential step in human-computer interaction. However, dynamic gesture recognition based on Surface Electromyography (sEMG) signals faces issues such as incomplete feature extraction and incomplete recognition of temporal information between continuous gestures. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-stream fusion network (MSK-LCNN) for dynamic gesture recognition to improve accuracy. We combine CNN and LSTM models into a unified framework which extracts spatio-temporal information both globally and in depth, and combines feature fusion to retain essential information. This framework uses an attention mechanism (SKNet) to learn more intricate feature information. The gesture recognition accuracy of this method on our data set is 95.23%, and on the NinaPro DB1 data set, it is 91.45%, which outperforms other similar networks in recent years. Applying this algorithm to prosthetic hand control has achieved flexible and stable control of the prosthetic hand. © 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Although numerous publications address the optimal controller design for MJSs, the issue of hidden MJSs, particularly those with mismatched jumping modes between the system and the controller, has rarely been explored.

In high-precision occasions, three-phase voltage PWM rectifier based on conventional voltage-current dual closed-loop control suffer from current harmonics and poor interference immunity. In order to effectively alleviate the above problems, partial feedback linearisation control is introduced in the current inner loop, and equivalent input disturbance (EID) based active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) control is introduced in the voltage outer loop, and the fal function is changed to qin function to solve the jitter problem that occurs when the inflection point is not smooth. Firstly, the mathematical model of the three-phase voltage PWM rectifier in the dq coordinate system is established, and its underactuated characteristics are analysed;Then, the feedback linearisation controller is designed with current as the actuated variables, and the improved EID\ADRC controller is designed with voltage as the underactuated variable;Finally, simulation experiments are carried out by Matlab/Simulink to verify the feasibility of the proposed method. © 2024 IEEE.

In classification problems, real-world data often exhibits a long-Tailed distribution: A few major categories have a large number of samples, while numerous minority categories have only a small number of samples. However, accurately identifying Chinese text images remains being a challenging task due to the vast number of classes and the characteristic long-Tailed distribution observed in ancient Chinese text images in real-world scenarios. And specially, the extremely uneven category distribution deteriorates the recognition performance in the insufficient of hard and few-shot sample feature learning. To address this problem above, we devise an integrated-weighted distribution balance loss that considers both the hard and few-shot samples, that mainly induce the feature distribution and prediction ability imbalances. Firstly Image-Aware (IA) loss is proposed to adaptively reweights of hard samples, corresponding the prediction distribution imbalance issue at the image-level by assigning adaptively weights to the samples that are challenging to accurately identification. And then Category-Aware (CA) loss is devised to adaptively rebalance of weights, tackling the long-Tail uneven sample distribution issue of the dataset at the category level by readjusting weights and decision boundary for tail samples. Experimental results from the integrated Image-Category Aware (ICA) loss demonstrate a significant and effective performance improvement trained on many network models with this integrated-loss function on the dataset of the Chu Bamboo and Silk 730 (Chu730) compared to existing methods. © 2023 ACM.

Subsurface defects are detrimental to the safety and integrity of critical components in various fields, particularly for those used in high-temperature environments. For this reason, a reliable non-destructive evaluation (NDE) method for in-situ inspection of subsurface defects of high-temperatured components is highly desired. Laser ultrasonic technique offers a promising potential to accommodate the demands in virtue of non-contact generation and detection of ultrasonic waves. In this work, laser ultrasosnic inspection of subsurface defects in high-temperatured components is proposed, which exploits the modal conversion of surface longitudinal wave to Rayleigh wave. The modal conversion was firstly investigated with finite element simulation, from which the phenomenon of modal conversion can be readily identified. Thereafter, an experimental setup is built to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed method. Notably, a delay-and-sum method based on a scanning procedure is conducted to coherently increase the detection sensitivity of subsurface defects, since the surface longitudinal wave rapidly vanishes with propagation distance., and the temperature-dependant velocity variation can be adaptively compensated. This work provides a viable route for in-situ inspection of subsurface defects in high-temperatured components where conventional ultrasonic method fails, and it would find potential applications in broad fields, such as coating quality evaluation in fabrication, bearing assessment under load, and in-situ monitoring for additive manufacturing. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. BEDiff: denoising diffusion probabilistic models for building extraction

Accurately identifying building distribution from remote sensing images with complex background information is challenging. The emergence of diffusion models has prompted the innovative idea of employing the reverse denoising process to distill building distribution from these complex backgrounds. Building on this concept, we propose a novel framework, building extraction diffusion model(BEDiff), which meticulously refines the extraction of building footprints from remote sensing images in a stepwise fashion. Our approach begins with the design of booster guidance, a mechanism that extracts structural and semantic features from remote sensing images to serve as priors, thereby providing targeted guidance for the diffusion process. Additionally, we introduce a cross-feature fusion module(CFM) that bridges the semantic gap between different types of features, facilitating the integration of the attributes extracted by booster guidance into the diffusion process more effectively. Our proposed BEDiff marks the first application of diffusion models to the task of building extraction. Empirical evidence from extensive experiments on the Beijing building dataset demonstrates the superior performance of BEDiff, affirming its effectiveness and potential for enhancing the accuracy of building extraction in complex urban landscapes.

The application of total focusing method (TFM) for imaging of Carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) with ultrasonic phased array is particularly challenging due to the layered structure and anisotropy of CFRP. To improve the TFM imaging performance, the precise knowledge of complex ultrasonic paths in anisotropic CFRP laminates should be obtained for accurate calculation of time of flights (TOFs), which makes the inspection process complicated and time-consuming. In this work, an adaptive TFM is developed for full-matrix imaging of CFRP laminates using ultrasonic phased array. Based on the acquired full matrix data, the elastic constants, including C11, C22, C55, and C13, can be directly derived using TOFs of A-scan signals. Based on the measured elastic constants, group velocity profiles of quasi-pressure (QP) wave were then calculated for different stacking sequences, from which the TOFs were corrected. To verify the effectiveness of proposed method, simulations and experiments are demonstrated on the CFRP laminates with different stacking sequences. As a representative example, the delamination defects are showcased. Compared with isotropic TFM, the SNR of proposed method is increased by 10.2-18.0 dB. The simulated and experimental results agreed well with each other, indicating that the feasibility of proposed method in full matrix imaging of anisotropic CFRPs. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. A three-dimensional point cloud classification model LAGCN based on adaptive graph convolution is proposed to solve the problem that PointNet only extracts feature information from isolated points but not from neighborhood structure. Firstly, the three-dimensional point cloud is transformed into undirected graph structure, which is used to obtain the neighborhood information of point cloud adaptively, and the classification accuracy is improved by incorporating residual structure. In the classification experiment, this paper trains and tests on ModelNet40 dataset, and compares the classification accuracy with VoxNet, PointNet and DGCNN models. The classification accuracy of this model is better than that of the above models. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
