In this paper, Lie symmetry analysis method is applied to (2+1)-dimensional time-fractional Sakovich equation with the mixed derivative of Riemann-Liouville time-fractional derivative and integer-order x-derivative. We obtained all the Lie symmetries admitted by the equation and used them to reduce the (2+1)-dimensional fractional partial differential equation with Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative to some (1+1)-dimensional fractional partial differential equations with Erdélyi-Kober fractional derivative or Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative, thereby getting some exact solutions of the reduced equations. In addition, the new conservation theorem and the generalization of Noether operators are developed to construct the conservation laws for the equation studied. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Stability, as one of the most important research directions,has caught the attention of many scholars [1–3]. Simultaneously, in domains such as vessel control and vehicle systems,external disturbances are unavoidable. The research challenge thus emerges: “How can one attain the desired system performance in a finite time while controlling the impact of external disturbances on output variables?”. Finite-time H∞control（H∞FTC） is a salient solution to this problem.

Preparation, Integration, and piezoresistive performance of MXene materials for multifunctional pressure sensor design

MXene materials have demonstrated significant potential in flexible pressure sensing applications owing to their unique two-dimensional layered structure, abundant surface functional groups, exceptional hydrophilicity, and outstanding electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical properties. MXene-based pressure sensors exhibit remarkable piezoresistive characteristics, including high sensitivity, broad detection range, rapid response, excellent anti-interference capability, and environmental compatibility, making them widely applicable in biomedicine, health monitoring, sports science, and human–machine interaction. However, prior systematic studies on MXene's pressure-sensitive performance have predominantly focused on its synthesis methods or intrinsic properties, with limited exploration of the relationship between MXene composites, structural design, and sensing performance. This review systematically summarizes recent advancements in MXene-based pressure sensors, providing an overview of MXene fundamentals and pressure sensor principles, with an emphasis on elucidating the interplay between structure, fabrication, and performance. Additionally, it highlights the application prospects of MXene pressure sensors in multiple cutting-edge fields from multiple perspectives, and addresses critical challenges in their scalable production and practical implementation, providing reference for future research to promote the widespread adoption of MXene materials in flexible sensing technology. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Nanoporous TiFe Intermetallic Fabricated by Liquid Metal Dealloying in Mg Melt for Electrochemical Hydrogen Storage

In this work, the nanoporous TiFe (NPTF) alloys were prepared by liquid metal dealloying (LMD) and which consisted of TiFe(Ni), TiFe2, TiNi3 and (Ni, Fe) phases. The porous structure consists of tens of nanometres uniformly. The formation of nanostructures is due to the large surface diffusion barrier of the intermetallic compounds retarding the surface diffusion rate and significantly preventing the coarsening of the nanostructures. We found that all NPTF could absorb and dehydrogenate at room temperature. NPTF has a maximum discharge capacity of up to 303 mAh g-1 without any activation process and performs better kinetically compared to TiFe alloys without LMD. The nanoporous structures were prepared by LMD is an effective approach to improve the hydrogen storage properties of TiFe alloys. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Strategy evolution of network conformists and rational imitators in the rock–paper–scissors game

The rock–paper–scissors game is a classic example of a three-strategy game in evolutionary game theory, widely employed to study the dynamics of strategy evolution. How to introduce different strategy update rules in the rock–paper–scissors game to study the evolution of strategies is a question worth exploring. In this study, two types of individuals are introduced within a finite and structured population: conformists and rational imitators. Distinct strategy update rules are formulated for each individual type. Conformists update their strategies according to the conformity process, whereas rational imitators update their strategies based on the death–birth process. During the strategy update process, individuals not only adjust their strategies but may also change their types and alter the network structure. Specifically, individuals introduce network dynamics by severing their connection with the neighbor that has the lowest weighted payoff and randomly establishing a new connection with an unconnected individual. This study simulates the aforementioned process on WS small-world and regular networks. The results show that as the proportion of initial rational imitators and the selection intensity increase, the population reaches a stable state more quickly. Over time, the proportion of individuals adopting the same strategy tends to converge across both types. Moreover, we find that the evolutionary outcomes on the WS small-world network are similar to those on the regular network. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

The Role of High Magnetic Fields in the Evolution of Microstructure and Mechanical Properties in Medium Manganese Steel

The influence of the external magnetic field on the microstructures and mechanical properties of medium manganese steel during tempering is investigated. Microstructural analysis reveals that a high magnetic field accelerates martensite recovery, and the width of martensitic laths increased by 150% and 130% after tempering at 200 or 500 °C, respectively. This phenomenon is likely attributed to the magnetic field influence on elevating the diffusion activation energy. Dislocation motion is accelerated due to the magnetic field, leading to dislocation accumulation. The dislocation provides more nucleation sites for the carbide precipitation compared to without the magnetic field. Furthermore, a magnetic field triggers carbide precipitation, with rod-shaped transforming into spherical ones. The mechanical properties of specimens after tempering with a magnetic field are slightly higher than those of the specimens tempered without a magnetic field, which is due to the synergistic effect of the precipitation and dislocation motion. Special attention has been paid to emphasizing the medium-temperature tempering brittleness that arises from the precipitation and micro-voids along martensite lath and prior austenite grain boundaries. The mechanism of a magnetic field-induced transformation is further explored in this study, which has important theoretical and practical implications for the creation of advanced steel materials. © 2025 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

Enhanced tunnel electroresistance in BAs/In2S3 ferroelectric tunnel junction through ferroelectric control of band alignments

We have designed two-dimensional ferroelectric tunnel junctions (FTJs) utilizing BAs/In2S3 van der Waals heterostructures and explored their transport characteristics. At low bias voltage, a pronounced difference in current magnitudes under different polarization states is observed, leading to a giant tunneling electroresistance (TER) ratio of 108%. Analysis of the projected band structures reveals changes in band alignment from type-III to type-I under the ferroelectric polarization reversal. Further discussions indicate that polarization reversal can cause a variation in the total charge transfer, consequently altering the Fermi level's position in the BAs and In2S3 layers. This alteration results in a transition between metallic and semiconducting states, thus achieving a high TER ratio. These findings imply great potential of high-performance 2D FTJs, which may contribute to the development of non-volatile storage devices and ferroelectric field-effect transistors. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Honeycomb mechanical metamaterials with semi-re-entrant, square and hexagonal cells were prepared by using continuous twill weave carbon fiber prepreg. Out-of-plane crushing behavior of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) honeycomb mechanical materials was investigated experimentally and theoretically. The full-field strain evolution and distribution of buckling modes were obtained. Analytical models were proposed to predict Young's moduli, buckling half-wave numbers, and initial collapse stresses of CFRP honeycomb cores and sandwich panels. The analytical predictions are in good agreement with the experimental results. It is shown that the face sheets have significant effects on the crushing behavior of CFRP honeycombs. The strength, stiffness and energy absorption of CFRP honeycombs are dependent upon the configuration, height and boundary condition. CFRP honeycombs exhibit higher specific strength and specific energy absorption than the counterparts.

COUNTERFACTUAL EXPERIENCE AUGMENTED OFF-POLICY REINFORCEMENT LEARNING

Reinforcement learning control algorithms face significant challenges due to out-of-distribution and inefficient exploration problems. While model-based reinforcement learning enhances the agent’s reasoning and planning capabilities by constructing virtual environments, training such virtual environments can be very complex. In order to build an efficient inference model and enhance the representativeness of learning data, we propose the Counterfactual Experience Augmentation (CEA) algorithm. CEA leverages variational autoencoders to model the dynamic patterns of state transitions and introduces randomness to model non-stationarity. This approach focuses on expanding the learning data in the experience pool through counterfactual inference and performs exceptionally well in environments that follow the bisimulation assumption. Environments with bisimulation properties are usually represented by discrete observation and action spaces, we propose a sampling method based on maximum kernel density estimation entropy to extend CEA to various environments. By providing reward signals for counterfactual state transitions based on real information, CEA constructs a complete counterfactual experience to alleviate the out-of-distribution problem of the learning data, and outperforms general SOTA algorithms in environments with difference properties. Finally, we discuss the similarities, differences and properties of generated counterfactual experiences and real experiences.
