Today, system identification plays a pivotal role in control science and offering a myriad of applications. This paper places its focus on the identification of actuator models within real-world delta robots for informing controller design. Two identification methods, namely NN-ARX and ARMAX, have been employed to extract the dynamic characteristics of the robot actuators, resulting in dynamic models of these integral components being derived. These dynamic models have been utilized in simulations for controller design, and due to the disparities in the identification models, distinct controllers have been realized. Subsequently, these controllers have been practically implemented on delta robots, and their performances have been subjected to a comprehensive comparative analysis. The results demonstrate that controllers integrating the identified actuator models outperformed those designed without the incorporation of the identification models. In practice, the implementation of controllers based on NN-ARX yielded the most favorable results among all the tested controllers. This research not only underscores the importance of accurate actuator models in control system design but also highlights the superior performance of neural network-based controllers in real-world robotic applications. In particular, the practical results of NN-ARX-based controllers were able to achieve significantly lower RMSE of 2.3562, 1.9531, and 2.1185 for the three motors, respectively, as opposed to the 4.1369, 3.0125, and 3.0363 achieved by the ARMAX-based controllers. © 2023 IEEE.

To improve existing social bookmarking systems and to design new ones, researchers and practitioners need to understand how to evaluate tagging behavior. In this paper, we analyze over two years of data from CiteULike, a social bookmarking system for tagging academic papers. We propose six tag metrics-tag growth, tag reuse, tag non-obviousness, tag discrimination, tag frequency, and tag patterns-to understand the characteristics of a social bookmarking system. Using these metrics, we suggest possible design heuristics to implement a social bookmarking system for CiteSeer, a popular online scholarly digital library for computer science. We believe that these metrics and design heuristics can be applied to social bookmarking systems in other domains. © 2007 ACM.

LED algorithm is a new lightweight encryption algorithm proposed in CHES 2011, which is used for IOT to protect the communication security of RFID tags and smart cards. It has been found that it is possible to retrieve secret key of algorithm by appropriate analysis of the devicess power consumption, and the differential power analysis is the most powerful attack. This paper proposed a method of differential power analysis on LED algorithm. Combined with hardware circuit, it designed and implemented differential power analysis of the LED encryption system. The experimental results show that method which is proposed in this paper was cracked the 64 bits key of LED. Thus, without protection, the cipher LED would be difficult to resist differential power analysis. and according this, We provide a general analysis method of differential power analysis on other lightweight cryptographic algorithms. © 2021, The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

As technologies are rapidly evolving in the area of storage, recognition and displays, the vision of multi-modal interaction is positioning the human needs central to pervasive access to services. Users expect better looking interfaces that are also easy to use to improve high efficiency and productivity and to focus on task itself instead of tools as providing the invisibility in pervasive computing. However, it is hard to obtain the right service at the right time naturally in the multimedia environment based on current interaction approaches. In this paper, we propose a framework for multi-modal interaction which offers the sketch and speech interactive models without limitation of the diversity and richness of the provided services in the pervasive computing environment. Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (vSLAM) is a cornerstone technology in computer vision and robotics, underpinning applications such as autonomous vehicles and robot navigation. While traditional vSLAM systems have shown significant progress in indoor or outdoor environments, their performance often degrades in complex scenes, limiting their adaptability and robustness. Semantic vSLAM, which integrates high-level semantic information into vSLAM systems, has emerged as a promising solution to address these limitations by enabling a richer understanding of the environment. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review of semantic vSLAM, offering a critical analysis of its evolution, methods, and challenges. We begin by revisiting the development of traditional vSLAM, emphasizing its limitations and the motivation for incorporating semantic information. Subsequently, we delve into the core modules of semantic vSLAM, including semantic extraction, object association, semantic loop closing, back-end optimization, and semantic mapping. Then, we present a performance comparison of semantic vSLAM systems under two different datasets, indoor and outdoor, respectively. Furthermore, we also provide a comparative analysis of widely used SLAM datasets to provide guidance for performance testing and validation. To further enrich the discussion, we identify unresolved challenges in semantic vSLAM, such as long-term semantic perception and association, open and unstructured environments. We propose future research directions, including balancing computational resources and quantifying system risk, large model-based navigation and mapping, and embodied AI SLAM. By providing key insights and forward-looking perspectives, this work aims to stimulate future research and improve the capabilities of semantic vSLAM in real-world applications. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel 3D interactive system for simulation and visualization of the human jaw motion. Based on the visual tracking technique, teeth plaster cast and marker cards is used for manipulating virtual teeth model and controlling the simulation of jaw motion. Through introducing their interactive semantic attributes, these physical interface elements are classified into various interaction types. Furthermore, various interaction tasks and techniques are seamlessly merged into a uniform interface framework, which integrates physical space with virtual space together. This innovative 3D interface can effectively exploit the dentist's existing skills and provide more intuitive and natural 3D interaction techniques than traditional ones. 1548-7741/Copyright © 2008 Binary information Press October 2008.

Sentiment analysis often relies on a semantic orientation lexicon of positive and negative words. A number of approaches have been proposed for creating such lexicons, but they tend to be computationally expensive, and usually rely on significant manual annotation and large corpora. Most of these methods use WordNet. In contrast, we propose a simple approach to generate a high-coverage semantic orientation lexicon, which includes both individual words and multi-word expressions, using only a Roget-like thesaurus and a handful of affixes. Further, the lexicon has properties that support the Polyanna Hypothesis. Using the General Inquirer as gold standard, we show that our lexicon has 14 percentage points more correct entries than the leading WordNet-based high-coverage lexicon (SentiWordNet). In an extrinsic evaluation, we obtain significantly higher performance in determining phrase polarity using our thesaurus-based lexicon than with any other. Additionally, we explore the use of visualization techniques to gain insight into the our algorithm beyond the evaluations mentioned above. © 2009 ACL and AFNLP.

The sparse adversarial attack has attracted increasing attention due to the merit of a low attack cost via changing a small number of pixels. However, the generated adversarial examples are easily detected in vision since the perturbation to each pixel is relatively large. To achieve imperceptible and sparse adversarial attacks, this article formulates a bi-objective constrained optimization problem, simultaneously minimizing the 0 and 2 distances to the original image, and proposes a dual-population-based constrained evolutionary algorithm to solve it. The proposed method solves the optimization problem by evolving two populations, where one population is responsible for finding feasible solutions (i.e., successful attacks) and the other one is to minimize both the 0 and 2 distances. Moreover, a population initialization strategy and two genetic operators are customized to accelerate the convergence speed. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method can achieve high success rates with low attack costs, and strikes a better balance between the 0 and 2 distances than state-of-the-art methods. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper proposes a new 4 kbit/s speech coder based on CELP structure with 45 ms total codec delay. The coder is mainly featured by the renewal codebook of the excitation signal and the linked split-vector quantizer of line spectrum pair parameters which enable the coder to get high quality speech at low bit rate. In addition, techniques of formant enhancement in the spectral envelop and harmonic recovery in the transient region are also introduced to reduce buzzy and hoarse sounds, respectively. From the intensive listening test with intermediated response system (IRS) speech, we obtained a comparable subjective quality to 32 kbit/s ADPCM (ITU Recommendation G.726) under a nominal speech input level of -26 dB overload.
