Forest area in the upstream of Ciliwung watershed is one of the last remaining forests in the hinterland of Jakarta metropolitan. Forest degradation and the rapid pressure of land use change are serious issues in the Greater Jakarta area that need to be addressed. In 2009, Joint Community Forest Management (PHBM) was initiated by Perum Perhutani in the upstream area of Ciliwung watershed at Kampung Cibulao, Tugu Utara Village, Bogor Regency. This PHBM program involved a forest farmer group in managing village forests, particularly through the management of shade-grown coffee and mountain bike trails. This study investigates the impact of the PHBM program on the local economy improvement using the latest datasets of financial management of forest farmer group in 2017. The aims of this study are to analyse: 1) farmers income from PHBM activities;2) feasibility of shaded-grown coffee and mountain bike trails activities by using benefit and cost analysis (NPV, IRR, Nett B/C Ratio). The results show that there has been a significant increase of income namey 16.55% or IDR 248,333/hectare/month of cherry and 47.77% or IDR 716,563/hectare/month of green beans. Meanwhile, the management of mountain bike trails has increased the farmers' income by 32% or IDR 480,000/person/month. The finding of feasibility study shows that Mountain Bike Trails Management is financially not feasible for communal business if it uses the current proportion of business sharing. Therefore, it is necessary to renegotiate the proportion of sharing in order to provide more economic benefits for the local people. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Adolescent depression is a serious and debilitating disorder associated with lifelong negative outcomes, including heightened risk for recurrence into adulthood, psychiatric comorbidities, and suicide. Among evidence-based treatments for adolescents, psychotherapies for depression have the smallest effect sizes of all psychiatric conditions studied. Advancing care for depression in adolescents is complex due to the heterogeneity in etiology and co-occurring difficulties among youth presenting with depression symptoms. This and a companion paper (Lewandowski et al., 2022) draw on a recent multisite collaboration that focused on implementing depression treatment for adolescents within clinical and research contexts. Specifically, this paper will review our work adapting behavioral activation (BA) as a principle-based framework to improve effectiveness and efficiency of depression treatment used within clinical and research settings in academic medical centers. Piloted adaptations include the use of BA principles to address idiographic drivers of depression and in-session BA “exposures” to illustrate BA principles. Case vignettes illustrate these adaptations of BA to address adolescent depression in the context of co-occurring difficulties. © 2022 Society of Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology.

Objectives: The purpose of this paper is to highlight the impact of a pandemic on the lives of vulnerable members of the community who have experienced or are ‘at risk’ of experiencing intimate family violence and child abuse in Saudi Arabia. By reviewing the experience in Saudi Arabia in the context of the international literature, the study explores similarities and differences in the impact of the pandemic on family violence. Methods: The study investigated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on family violence and child abuse in Saudi Arabia by conducting a comparative analysis of the prevalence of cases, types of abuse, and geographical location of those experiencing violence between the years 2019 and 2020. Data were obtained from the Family Violence Reporting Center 1919 in Saudi Arabia. Results: The study found that the risk of family violence and child abuse increased during the COVID-19 pandemic in Saudi Arabia, similar to findings in other countries. Conversely, there was a decrease in the number of reports due to factors associated with COVID-19. Conclusions: The study highlighted the importance of ensuring that existing policies and services are sufficient to ensure the risks arising from the impact of COVID-19 responses and minimize the negative consequences. © 2023 King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (General Organization), Saudi Arabia

BackgroundAdolescents with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) are thought to be more susceptible to mental stress than their counterparts without PCOS. Traffic noise assessment in urban Bulgaria using explainable machine learning

Fine-grained noise maps are vital for epidemiological studies on traffic noise. However, detailed information on traffic noise is often limited, especially in Eastern Europe. Rigid linear noise land-use regressions are typically employed to estimate noise levels;however, machine learning likely offers more accurate noise predictions. We innovated by comparing the predictive accuracies of supervised machine learning models to estimate traffic noise levels across the five largest Bulgarian cities. In situ A-weighted equivalent continuous sound levels were obtained from 232 fixed-site monitors across these cities. We included transport- and land-use-related predictors using 50-1,000 m buffers. Extreme gradient boosting (XGB) had the highest ten-fold cross-validated fit (R2=0.680) and the lowest root mean square error (RMSE=4.739), insignificantly besting the random forest-based model (R2=0.667, RMSE=4.895). Support vector regression (R2=0.633, RMSE=5.358), elastic net (R2=0.568, RMSE=5.625), and linear regression (R2=0.548, RMSE=5.569) performed significantly worse. Shapley values for the XGB showed that the length of major roads within 100 m buffers, footways within 50 m buffers, residential roads within 50 m buffers, and the number of buildings within 50 m buffers were important non-linear predictors. Our spatially resolved noise maps revealed striking geographic noise variations and that, on average, 96.8% of the urban population experiences harmful noise levels. © 2025, CC BY.

Blueberry Supplementation Effects on Neuronal and Pathological Biomarkers in Subjects at Risk for Alzheimer's Disease: A Pilot Study

Background:There is a need to develop non-invasive practical lifestyle interventions for preventing Alzheimer's disease (AD) in people at risk, such as those with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Blueberry consumption has been associated with reduced risk of dementia in some epidemiologic studies and with improvements in cognition in healthy aging adults. Blood-based biomarkers have emerged at the forefront of AD therapeutics research spurred by the development of reliable ultra-sensitive "single-molecule array" assays with 100-1000-fold greater sensitivity over traditional platforms. Objective:The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of blueberry supplementation in MCI on six blood biomarkers: amyloid-beta 40 (Aβ40), amyloid-beta 42 (Aβ42), phosphorylated Tau181 (ptau181), neurofilament light (NfL), Glial Fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). Methods:This was a 12-week, open-label, pilot trial of 10 participants with MCI (mean age 80.2 years + 5.16). Subjects consumed 36 grams per day of lyophilized blueberry powder in a split dose consumed with breakfast and dinner. Baseline and endpoint venous blood was analyzed using an ultrasensitive SIMOA assay. Our aim was to test if blueberry supplementation would particularly impact p-tau181, NfL, and GFAP elevations associated with the neurodegenerative process. Results:There were no statistically significant (p < 0.05) changes from baseline to endpoint for any of the biomarker values or in the ratios of Aβ42 / Aβ40 and ptau181/ Aβ42. Adverse effects were mild and transient; supplementation was relatively well tolerated with all subjects completing the study. Conclusion:To our knowledge, this is the first study to prospectively examine the effects of blueberry supplementation on a panel of blood biomarkers reflecting the neurodegenerative process. Vaccines have curtailed the devastation wrought by COVID-19. Nevertheless, emerging variants result in persistent breakthrough infections. Here we assess the impact of vaccination and breakthrough infection on SARS-CoV-2 T cell immunity. We demonstrate that COVID-19 vaccination induces robust spike-specific T cell responses that, within the CD4+ compartment, display comparable IFN-g responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection without vaccination. Vaccine-induced CD8+ IFN-g responses however, were significantly greater than those primed by SARS-CoV-2 infection alone. This increased responsiveness is associated with induction of novel HLA-restricted CD8+ T cell epitopes not primed by infection alone (without vaccination). Despite these augmented responses, breakthrough infection still induced de novo T-cell responses against additional SARS-CoV-2 CD8+ epitopes that display HLA-associated immunodominance hierarchies consistent with those in unvaccinated COVID-19 convalescent individuals. This study demonstrates the unique modulation of anti-viral T cell responses against multiple viral antigens following consecutive yet distinct priming events in COVID-19 vaccination and breakthrough infection. © 2023, The Authors. The current use of the website continues to grow along with the development of information technology. To not be left behind with the development of information technology, the education sector continues to adapt and innovate by utilizing information technology. The purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of using the principal's induction program website. The instrument used to measure the effectiveness of using the principal's induction program website is a questionnaire. The respondents of this study were 50 principals. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study results concluded that the effectiveness of the use of the principal's induction program website was in the acceptable category. This means that the website developed is good enough to be used in the principal's induction program. © 2021 IEEE.
