Level attraction and PT symmetry in indirectly coupled microresonators

Benefiting from the tunability of their phase delay and gain, we show the possibility of realizing level attraction, parity-time (PT)-, and anti-PT-symmetric photonic structures with indirectly coupled active and passive microresonators mediated by drop-filter waveguides. We find that level attraction originates from two mechanisms, i.e., exceptional point and resonance, and it may emerge not only for dissipative coupling but also coherent coupling and hybrid coupling after considering the gain and loss of microresonators, which confirms the universality of level attraction in the coupled photonic system. On the other hand, the transition from PT to anti-PT symmetry or vice versa may be realizable by tuning their phase delay and gain; thus the indirectly coupled microresonators may provide an excellent platform for exhibiting the unique features of PT and anti-PT symmetry. Furthermore, we also reveal the intrinsic relationship of the line shape and phase behavior of the reflection spectrum with PT symmetry, anti-PT symmetry, and level attraction.

This paper mainly analyzes the stability of high-dimensional fractional-order gene regulatory network systems with time delay. Based on the judgment of eigenvalues, this paper proposes sufficient information about the stability of high-dimensional fractional-order gene regulatory network systems with time delay. Conditions, and by analyzing the characteristic equations, the bifurcation conditions of the high-dimensional fractional-order gene regulatory network system with time delay are derived. Finally, the theoretical part of this paper is verified by numerical simulation.

Recently,Wireless sensor networks(WSNs)have become very popular research topics which are applied to many *** provide pervasive computing services and techniques in various potential applications for the Internet of Things(IoT).An Asynchronous Clustering and Mobile Data Gathering based on Timer Mechanism(ACMDGTM)algorithm is proposed which would mitigate the problem of“hot spots”among sensors to enhance the lifetime of *** clustering process takes sensors’location and residual energy into consideration to elect suitable cluster ***,one mobile sink node is employed to access cluster heads in accordance with the data overflow time and moving time from cluster heads to *** experimental results display that the presented method can avoid long distance communicate between sensor ***,this algorithm reduces energy consumption effectively and improves package delivery rate.

Within the kinetic energy driven superconducting mechanism, we have studied the temperature dependence of commensurate magnetic resonance in cuprate superconductors. It is shown that the commensurate magnetic resonance peak at the antiferromagnetic wave vector point persists in the superconducting state until the temperature rises to the superconducting transition temperature Tc. The intensity of the resonance peak decreases with increasing temperature which is just like the temperature dependence of the superconducting gap parameter. Our results are in qualitative agreement with the inelastic neutron scattering experimental data and reflect that the commensurate magnetic resonance is closely related to the creation of the charge carrier pairs and thus the superconducting mechanism of cuprate superconductors. © 2018 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland

In this paper, we propose a novel method based on color space volume and multimodal histogram thresholding (MHT) for leukocyte segmentation in human blood smear images under the rapid staining condition. The proposed method first defines a new color space volume to highlight the leukocyte's nucleus region, and it then uses the MHT method to extract the nucleus. Then, the proposed method takes the central region in the superpixel segmentation result as an initial leukocyte region, and it then uses the MHT method to extract the leukocyte region. Finally, the cytoplasm is obtained by subtracting the nucleus region from the leukocyte region. Experimental results on a dataset containing 300 leukocyte images under rapid staining condition show that the proposed method provides a higher segmentation accuracy than the counterparts. © 2019 IEEE.

Aimed at the segmentation problem of ultrawideband synthetic aperture radar (UWB SAR) image, a novel algorithm based on polynomial analysis of statistical distribution is proposed in this letter. Firstly, we estimate the probability density function (PDF) for each pixel via sparse decomposition of which the dictionary consists of orthogonal polynomials (OP). Secondly, the weighting coefficients of corresponding OP are used to segment image using their maximum value. The experimental results validate the efficiency of this algorithm. © 2019 IEEE.

Video-based person re-identification is an important research area in computer vision. Quality Aware Network(QAN) is a model that is robust to noise in the videos. It calculates the weighted average of all the frames' image features, with each frame's quality score as the weight, and generates a video feature. However, the QAN has poor ability to distinguish pedestrians with highly similar clothing. To address this problem, we analyze the advantages and shortcomings of Quality Pooling and Max Pooling in theory, and propose the Frame Quality and Max Pooling based Late Feature Fusion Method(QMFF). It aims at enhancing the QAN's ability to distinguish pedestrians with similar clothing. First, use Quality Pooling to get the initial ranking list. Then, for each Query, judge whether the top-N candidates in the ranking list are highly similar in clothing to one another. If the Query meets the similarity criterion, Max Pooling with Frame Quality Filter is used. Local salient features selected by Max Pooling help distinguish pedestrians more accurately. Experimental results on the iLIDS-VID dataset show that the proposed method is superior to the QAN and many recently proposed methods.

Reductions of the self-consistent mean field theory model of amphiphilic molecules in solvent can lead to a singular family of functionalized Cahn-Hilliard (FCH) energies. We modify these energies, mollifying the singularities to stabilize the computation of the gradient flows and develop a series of benchmark problems that emulate the "morphological complexity" observed in experiments. These benchmarks investigate the delicate balance between the rate of absorption of amphiphilic material onto an interface and a least energy mechanism to disperse the arriving mass. The result is a trichotomy of responses in which two-dimensional interfaces either lengthen by a regularized motion against curvature, undergo pearling bifurcations, or split directly into networks of interfaces. We evaluate a number of schemes that use second order backward differentiation formula (BDF2) type time stepping coupled with Fourier pseudo-spectral spatial discretization. The BDF2-type schemes are either based on a fully implicit time discretization with a preconditioned steepest descent (PSD) nonlinear solver or upon linearly implicit time discretization based on the standard implicit-explicit (IMEX) and the scalar auxiliary variable (SAV) approaches. We add an exponential time differencing (ETD) scheme for comparison purposes. All schemes use a fixed local truncation error target with adaptive time-stepping to achieve the error target. Each scheme requires proper "preconditioning" to achieve robust performance that can enhance efficiency by several orders of magnitude. The nonlinear PSD scheme achieves the smallest global discretization error at fixed local truncation error, however the IMEX and SAV schemes are the most computationally efficient as Copyright © 2020, The Authors. The a posteriori error estimates are studied for a class of nonlinear stead-state Poisson-Nernst-Planck equations, which are a coupled system consisting of the Nernst-Planck equation and the Poisson equation. Both the global upper bounds and the local lower bounds of the error estimators are obtained by using a local averaging operator.
