Periodicity of non-autonomous inertial neural networks involving proportional delays and non-reduced order method

This paper,mainly explores a class of non-autonomous inertial neural networks with proportional delays and time-varying *** combining Lyapunov function method with differential inequality approach,non-reduced order method is used to establish some novel assertions on the existence and generalized exponential stability of periodic solutions for the addressed *** addition,an example and its numerical simulations are given to support the proposed approach.

This research article investigates the impacts of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), nonlinear thermal radiation, Darcy-Forchheimer porous medium, viscous dissipation, first-order velocity slip, and convective boundary condition on the entropy generation optimization in flow of non-Newtonian fluid (Williamson fluid) towards a flat and stretchable surface. A general entropy equation is derived for thermal heat irreversibility, porosity irreversibility, Joule heating irreversibility, and fluid friction irreversibility. The bvp4c (built-in-shooting) technique is utilized to solve the governing equations for the entropy generation. Our obtained results highlight that enhancement in the thermal radiation and magnetic causes an abrupt change in the entropy generation rate. Moreover, the heat transfer rate and velocity gradient (skin friction) are calculated numerically subject to pertinent parameter, and the results are displayed in tabular form. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Re-engineering the channel heat exchangers(CHEs)is the goal of many recent studies,due to their great importance in the scope of energy transport in various industrial and environmental *** the internal geometry of the CHEs by using extended surfaces,i.e.,VGs(vortex generators),is the most common technique to enhance the efficiency of heat *** work aims to develop a newdesign of solar collectors to improve the overall energy *** study presents a new channel design by introducing *** FVM(finite volume method)was adopted as a numerical technique to solve the problem,with the use of Oil/MWCNT(oil/multi-walled carbon nano-tubes)nanofluid to raise the thermal conductivity of the flow *** study is achieved for a Re number ranging from12×10^(3) to 27×10^(3),while the concentration(φ)of solid particles in the fluid(Oil)is set to 4%.The computational results showed that the hydrothermal characteristics depend strongly on the flow patterns with the presence of VGs within the *** the Oil/MWCNT rates with the presence of VGs generates negative turbulent velocities with high amounts,which promotes the good agitation of nanofluid particles,resulting in enhanced great transfer rates.

Watchdog from academia: Do academic independent directors matter for financial statement fraud?

We examine whether academic independent directors affect financial statement fraud. Using a sample of independent directors’ academic experience data for Chinese public firms, we find a significantly negative relation between academic independent directors and financial statement fraud. This finding is robust after applying various methods to address potential endogeneity concerns. Further analyses suggest that the negative relation between academic independent directors and financial statement fraud is more pronounced when academic independent directors are professors and possess accounting and technological expertise, sit on audit committees, compensation committees, multiple boards, and have relatively low-level compensation. In addition, the negative relation is stronger for non-state-owned firms and firms audited by small auditors. Overall, our findings suggest that academic independent directors are watchdogs for financial statement fraud. © The Authors

Feasible strategies in three-way conflict analysis with three-valued ratings

Most existing work on three-way conflict analysis has focused on trisecting agent pairs, agents, or issues. While these trisections lay the groundwork for understanding the nature of conflicts, further actions need to be formulated to address conflict resolution. One of the widely studied approaches is to construct feasible strategies. This paper aims to investigate feasible strategies from two perspectives of consistency and non-consistency. Particularly, we begin with computing the overall rating of a clique of agents based on positive and negative similarity degrees. Afterwards, considering the weights of both agents and issues, we propose weighted consistency and non-consistency measures, which are respectively used to identify the feasible strategies for a clique of agents. Algorithms are developed to identify feasible strategies, L -order feasible strategies, and the corresponding optimal ones. Finally, to demonstrate the practicality, effectiveness, and superiority of the proposed models, we apply them to two commonly used case studies on NBA labor negotiations and development plans for Gansu Province and conduct a sensitivity analysis on parameters and a comparative analysis with existing state-of-the-art conflict analysis approaches. The comparison results demonstrate that our conflict resolution models outperform the conventional approaches by unifying weighted agent-issue evaluation with consistency and non-consistency measures to enable the systematic identification of not only feasible strategies but also optimal solutions.

The present work emphasizes the significance of oscillatory mixed convection stratified fluid and heat transfer characteristics at different stations of non-conducting horizontally circular cylinder in the presence of thermally stratified *** remove the difficulties in illustrating the coupled PDE’s,the finite-difference scheme with efficient primitive-variable formulation is proposed to transform dimensionless *** numerical simulations of coupled non-dimensional equations are computed in terms velocity of fluid,temperature and magnetic field which are computed to examine the fluctuating components of skin friction,heat transfer and current density for various emerging *** governing parameters namely,thermally stratification parameter𝑆𝑆𝑡𝑡,mixed-convection parameter𝜆𝜆,Prandtl number Pr,magnetic force parameter𝜉𝜉and magnetic-Prandtl number𝛾𝛾are displayed graphically at selected values for velocity and heat transfer *** is computed that heat transfer attains maximum amplitude and good variations in the presence of thermally stratified parameter at each position𝛼𝛼=𝜋𝜋6⁄,𝛼𝛼=𝜋𝜋3⁄and𝛼𝛼=𝜋𝜋around the surface of non-conducting horizontally *** velocity of fluid attains certain height at station𝛼𝛼=𝜋𝜋6⁄for higher value of stratification *** is also found that the temperature gradient decreases with stratification parameter𝑆𝑆𝑡𝑡,but it increases after a certain distance𝑌𝑌from the *** novelty of the current work is that due to non-conducting phenomena the magnetic effects are strongly observed far from the surface but exact at the surface are zero for each position.

This paper deals with Marangoni convective flow of Carreau fluid. Boundary condition for momentum equation is considered to be Marangoni type. Thermal energy produces when current passes through the electrical conductor and this process is called Joule heating. Viscous dissipation is also applied in thermal equation. Nonlinear mixed convection for temperature is considered. Governing equations of PDE's are converted to ODE's by implementation of transformation. ND-Solve MATHEMATICA method is used to solve the equations. Parameters result against temperature, velocity, entropy rate, Bejan number, Skin friction and Nusselt number is examined via graphs. Due to increase in fluid parameter velocity of the fluid reduces while increasing impact is seen for temperature. Temperature is increasing function of Eckert number. Entropy generation also shows rising impact via fluid parameter while Bejan number decays. Drag force of surface decays via fluid parameter. Nusselt number is in direct relation with Prandtl and Eckert number. © IMechE 2021.

The present study is concerned with the physical behavior of the combined effect of nano particle material motion and heat generation/absorption due to the effect of different parameters involved in prescribed flow *** formulation of the flow model is based on basic universal equations of conservation of momentum,energy and *** prescribed flow model is converted to non-dimensional form by using suitable *** obtained transformed equations are solved numerically by using finite difference *** the analysis of above said behavior the computed numerical data for fluid velocity,temperature profile,and mass concentration for several constraints that is mixed convection parameterλt,modified mixed convection parameterλc,Prandtl number Pr,heat generation/absorption parameterδ,Schmidt number Sc,thermophoresis parameter Nt,and thermophoretic coefficient k are sketched in graphical *** results for skin friction,heat transfer rate and the mass transfer rate are tabulated for various emerging physical *** is reported that in enhancement in heat,generation boosts up the fluid temperature at some positions of the surface of the *** heat absorption parameter is decreased temperature field increases at position X=π/4 on the other hand,no alteration at other considered circumferential positions is noticed.
