Nowadays some new ideas of fractional derivatives have been used successfully in the present research community to study different types of mathematical *** them,the significant models of fluids and heat or mass transfer are on *** recently a new idea of fractal-fractional derivative is introduced;however,it is not used for heat transfer in channel *** this article,we have studied this new idea of fractal fractional operators with power-law kernel for heat transfer in a fluid flow *** exactly,we have considered the free convection heat transfer for a Newtonian *** flow is bounded between two parallel static *** of the plates is heated *** proposed problem is modeled with a fractal fractional derivative operator with a power-law kernel and solved via the Laplace transform method to find out the exact *** results are graphically analyzed via MathCad-15 software to study the behavior of fractal parameters and fractional *** the influence of temperature and velocity profile,it is observed that the fractional parameter raised the velocity and temperature as compared to the fractal ***,a combined approach of fractal fractional explains the memory of the function better than fractional only.

In this paper, we study the higher dimensional nonlinear Rossby waves under the generalized beta *** methods of the multiple scales and weak nonlinear perturbation expansions [Q. S. Liu, et al., Phys. Lett. A383(2019) 514], we derive a new(2 + 1)-dimensional generalized Boussinesq equation from the barotropic potential vorticity equation. Based on bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems and the qualitative theory of ordinary differential equations, the dynamical analysis and exact traveling wave solutions of the new generalized Boussinesq equation are obtained. Moreover, we provide the numerical simulations of these exact solutions under some conditions of all parameters. The numerical results show that these traveling wave solutions are all the Rossby solitary waves.

We introduce LYSTO, the Lymphocyte Assessment Hackathon, which was held in conjunction with the MICCAI 2019 Conference in Shenzen (China). The competition required participants to automatically assess the number of lymphocytes, in particular T-cells, in histopathological images of colon, breast, and prostate cancer stained with CD3 and CD8 immunohistochemistry. Differently from other challenges setup in medical image analysis, LYSTO participants were solely given a few hours to address this problem. In this paper, we describe the goal and the multi-phase organization of the hackathon;we describe the proposed methods and the on-site results. Additionally, we present post-competition results where we show how the presented methods perform on an independent set of lung cancer slides, which was not part of the initial competition, as well as a comparison on lymphocyte assessment between presented methods and a panel of pathologists. We show that some of the participants were capable to achieve pathologist-level performance at lymphocyte assessment. After the hackathon, LYSTO was left as a lightweight plug-and-play benchmark dataset on grand-challenge website, together with an automatic evaluation platform. LYSTO has supported a number of research in lymphocyte assessment in oncology. Banana peels waste can be utilized to produce high quality biochar that can be incorporated into the soil for sustainable production of crops. This research analyzed several properties of the biochar produced from the banana peel at different temperatures, residence times and heating rates. This study focuses on the biochar yield and the EDX analysis of the biochar produced. Response surface methodology using central composite design (CCD) was used to optimize these parameters in the batch reactor pyrolysis system. These factors were operated in different ranges for banana peels, in which pyrolysis temperature (200 to 600°C), residence time (60 to 180 min) and heating rate (5 to 15°C·min−1) were varied using 20 experiments respectively. Quality of the biochar was determined based on the biochar yield and O/C ratio. The optimum biochar chosen from the CCD model was applied to several pots of Ipomoea aquatica in different biochar dosage levels of 0, 3, 9 and 15 g (0, 1, 3 and 5 wt% of soil) respectively. Pot experiment was conducted with completely randomized design (CRD) of one factor with five replications to correlate the average plant heights with the biochar dosage levels. To investigate the purification effect of the new adsorption material containing bioreactor and the critical role of non-culture (VBNC) bacteria in eutrophication ecosystem, major water quality parameters and microbial community were determined and analyzed in prepared eutrophic water for 2 years monitoring. The results showed that removal rates of total phosphorus (TP), total nitrogen (TN), chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) ranged of 90.7% - 95.9%, 84.5% - 92.4%, 87.9% - 95.8% and 68.3% - 82.7%, respectively, indicating the designed bioreactor possessed high efficiency in eutrophic water treatment. Although the bioreactor had been operated for 2 years, water from treatment group was more clearer and odorless than control group, exhibiting the long service life of the bioreactor. Targeted construction of carbon defects near the N dopants is an intriguing but challenging way to boost the electrocatalytic activity of N-doped carbon toward oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Here, we report a novel site-specific etching strategy that features targeted anchoring of singlet oxygen ( 1 O 2 ) on the N-adjacent atoms to directionally construct topological carbon defects neighboring the N dopants in N-doped carbon ( 1 O 2 −N/C). This 1 O 2 −N/C exhibits the highest ORR half-wave potential of 0.915 V RHE among all the reported metal-free carbon catalysts. Pyridinic-N bonded with a carbon pentagon of the neighboring topological carbon defects is identified as the primary active configuration, rendering enhanced adsorption of O 2 , optimized adsorption energy of the ORR intermediates, and a significantly decreased total energy barrier for ORR. This 1 O 2 -induced site-specific etching strategy is also applicable to different precursors, showing a tremendous potential for targeted construction of high-efficiency active sites in carbon-based materials.

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) constitutes an essential and promising paradigm that relies programmable wireless environment and provides capability for space-intensive communications, due to the use of low-cost massive reflecting elements over the entire surfaces of man-made structures. However, accurate channel estimation is a fundamental technical prerequisite to achieve the huge performance gains from RIS. By leveraging the low rank structure of RIS channels, three practical residual neural networks, named convolutional blind denoising network, convolutional denoising generative adversarial networks and multiple residual dense network, are proposed to obtain accurate channel state information, which can reflect the impact of different methods on the estimation performance. Simulation results reveal the evolution direction of these three methods and reveal their superior performance compared with existing benchmark schemes. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. Recently, by imposing the regularization term to objective function or additional norm constraint to portfolio weights, a number of alternative portfolio strategies have been proposed to improve the empirical performance of the minimum-variance portfolio. In this paper, we firstly examine the relation between the weight norm-constrained method and the objective function regularization method in minimum-variance problems by analyzing the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions of their Lagrangian functions. We give the range of parameters for the two models and the corresponding relationship of parameters. Given the range and manner of parameter selection, it will help researchers and practitioners better understand and apply the relevant portfolio models. We apply these models to construct optimal portfolios and test the proposed propositions by employing real market data. © 2019 Zhifeng Dai.
