Paper uses symbolic dynamics to study heartbeat time series from the normal subjects, patients with congestive heart failure and cardiac arrest patients. The results show that entropy value of normal people's heart beat signals is the maximum. Information entropy value of congestive heart failure patient is decreasing. Cardiac arrest patients' information entropy is the smallest. It is corresponding that patients have entered into dangerous stage in clinical. Clinical treatment of patients at this time is a critical period. The results are of great significance on the clinical automatically diagnosis. It can play a role in timely warning especially in the long ambulatory ECG monitoring to save the patient's life.

Due to the constraints of manufacturing and materials,high-power plants cannot rely on only one solid oxide fuel cell stack.A multi-stack system is a solution for a highpower system,which consists of multiple fuel cell stacks.A short lifetime is one of the main challenges for the fuel cell before largescale commercial applications,and prognostic is an important method to improve the reliability of fuel *** from the traditional prognostic approaches applied to single-stack fuel cell systems,the key problem in multi-stack prediction is how to solve the correlation of multi-stack degradation,which can directly affect the accuracy of *** response to this difficulty,a standard Brownian motion is added to the traditional Wiener process to model the degradation of each stack,and then the probability density function of the remaining useful life(RUL)of each stack is ***,a Copula function is adopted to reflect the dependence between life distributions,so as to obtain the remaining useful life for the whole multi-stack system.1 The simulation results show that compared with the traditional prediction model,the proposed approach has a higher prediction accuracy for multi-stack fuel cell systems.

Human pose estimation is the task of localizing body keypoints from still images. The state-of-the-art methods suffer from insufficient examples of challenging cases such as symmetric appearance, heavy occlusion and nearby person. To enlarge the amounts of challenging cases, previous methods augmented images by cropping and pasting image patches with weak semantics, which leads to unrealistic appearance and limited diversity. We instead propose Semantic Data Augmentation (SDA), a method that augments images by pasting segmented body parts with various semantic granularity. Furthermore, we propose Adversarial Semantic Data Augmentation (ASDA), which exploits a generative network to dynamically predict tailored pasting configuration. Given off-the-shelf pose estimation network as discriminator, the generator seeks the most confusing transformation to increase the loss of the discriminator while the discriminator takes the generated sample as input and learns from it. The whole pipeline is optimized in an adversarial manner. State-of-the-art results are achieved on challenging benchmarks. Brain electrical activity is widely accepted as the typical non-stationary signal. In addition, there exist more evidences that both EEG and ERP signals are chaotic signal produced by the nonlinear dynamics system. To investigate the time-varying nonlinear dynamics of the ERP under specified cognitive tasks, a novel model based on the time-variant coupled map lattice system is proposed for this purpose. The time-variant largest Lyapunov exponent (LLE) is also defined as the quantitative parameters to reveal the global characters of system and discover new information. Several simulations and real ERP signals under different fixed location cue were examined in terms of LLE spectra for studying the signal's dynamic complexity. The experimental results show that the brain chaos changes with time under different attention tasks of the information processing. The influence of the LLE with the scopes size of cues mainly occurs in P2 period. No simple linearly relationship between the scopes of cues and the influence of complexity is found. © 2006 Research Publishing Services.

For brain function study, it is very important to assess the state of different attention conditions. In this paper, we study a cross-correlation between different attention electroencephalograph (EEG) signals by detrended cross-correlation analysis (DCCA). We use the method to study attention α wave EEG. And, we found that is possible to discriminate the cross-correlation between the meditation state of closing eyes and the absence of mind. It was found that the DCCA values of idle subjects' α wave EEG signals increased compared the meditating participants' α wave EEG signals. And it can be particularly helpful for treatment and brain development research.

We constructed a single C-B zier curve with a shape parameter for G2 joining two circular arcs. It was shown that an S-shaped transition curve, which is able to manage a broader scope about two circle radii than the B zier curves, has no curvature extrema, while a C-shaped transition curve has a single curvature extremum. Regarding the two kinds of curves, specific algo- rithms were presented in detail, strict mathematical proofs were given, and the effectiveness of the method was shown by examples. This method has the following three advantages: (1) the pattern is unified; (2) the parameter able to adjust the shape of the tran- sition curve is available; (3) the transition curve is only a single segment, and the algorithm can be formulated as a low order equation to be solved for its positive root. These advantages make the method simple and easy to implement.

An efficient spatial error concealment algorithm is proposed for corrupted image by transmission losses in this work. Firstly, information of edges in the neighboring blocks is extracted by judgements on which edges may traverse the loss block. Then, all detected edges are divided into relevant and irrelevant edge. Subsequently, one or more directions for interpolation can be selected from the relevant edge set by minimizing the boundary pixel difference for each direction. The method improves the capability of recovering more high-detailed contents of lost block with low complexity. Experimental results demonstrate the better performance of the proposed methods as compared to previous techniques.

As no reference frame can be obtained in Intra-frame error concealment, reducing the degradation of spatial reconstructed image is one of the key techniques in error concealment. In this paper, a novel spatial error concealment algorithm based on fuzzy clustering for Intra-frame in H.264 is proposed. This proposed algorithm gives a new selection of eigenvectors and similarity measurement for fuzzy clustering. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the edge details, achieve a better subjective quality of the recovered image and increase PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) as well.

Vision information processing (VIP) is the important supports of image processing. Currently, VIP has become as a leader direction in remote sense image processing (which mostly serves the government and military) and in medical image processing (which widely serves a great numbers of patients). Medical imaging and medical image analysis techniques are the hotspots of the biomedical engineering. On one hand, different from optical imaging, modern medical imaging such as CT, MR and PET have the very complex imaging mechanisms with deep mathematic fundamental and are entirely different with each other. Advanced and novel precise techniques in medical imagine are also needed, such as design of various filters, calibration techniques for different artifacts, fast imaging methods and low dose CT reconstruction. New important applications of medical imaging are still in progress with high speed, which include special imaging technique to some diseases, multi-functional imaging equipments and special imaging devices for brain or hand. On the other hand, medical image analysis such as image segmentation and image registration as the basic medical image processing still require some novel techniques to make it more effectively. Fuzziness of physiology estimation, stochastic behavior of imaging process, and ill condition behavior of mathematic model may be the dispute problems for a long time. For more convenient, we are to quite our recent research results to illustrate above the hotspots.

Conventional single-chip digital cameras use color filter arrays(CFA) to sample different spectral components. image demosaicing is a problem of interpolating these data to complete red, green, and blue values for each image pixel, to produce an RGB image. Many color demosaicing(CDM) methods assume that the high local spatial redundancy exists among the color samples. Such an assumption, however, may be fail for images with high color saturation and sharp color transitions. This paper presents an adaptive demosaicing algorithm by exploiting both the non-local similarity and the local correlation(NLS-LC) in the color filter array image. First, the most flattest nonlocal image patches are searched in the searching window centered on the estimated pixel. Second, the patch, which is the most similar to the current patch, is selected among the most smoothest nonlocal patches. Third, according to the similar degree and the local correlation degree, the obtained nonlocal image patch and the current patch are adaptively chosen to estimate the missing color samples. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method exhibits superior performance over many state-of-the-art color interpolation methods.
